  1. I'll have to take the blame for now. Still moving everything to unRAID server and she's been patiently waiting for me to get everything working again before she starts using it. Seems like it was easier to get it all working the first time under Ubuntu. Or I'm just getting better at suppressing the bad memories.
  2. So, it looks like things can work correctly as I had added an auto record and it seems to have completed correctly with a minor issue of not being able to change permissions. I suggested to my wife that she just watch the news instead of soaps since this recording is working but that didn't go over too well... They should all be created from the auto-record settings. It only shows double recordings for some days and not others. I'll try deleting all auto recordings and scheduled recordings and re-create them and see what happens going forward. Thanks for taking a look at this.
  3. This is from a failed recording earlier today. Is it also odd that every time it scrapes for new guide data it is adding over 5000 'new' items. I thought it was just doing an incremental update of new or changed programs every day. log.txt
  4. I'll try and schedule something to run when I get home and grab the log then, thanks.
  5. Hi guys, I'm having an issue with recordings and though I'd ask here if anyone knows what I'm doing wrong. I have several auto-records scheduled but they always seem to end up as failed recordings with a status of 'time missed'. The odd thing is that the .mkv files are saved to disk and play fine if I use VLC. For some reason they are not showing as completed recordings in TVHeadend or any of it's clients (Kodi). One other thing I noticed is that some times the error while trying to record is 'no input source available', but if I start a recording of the same show manually at the same time, the manual recording will complete as it should. The tuner is a HDHomerun on the network. Also, what's the best way to attach a log from unRAID dockers? I've just zipped the HTML file but is there a preferred method? Thanks. Log_for__tvheadend.zip
  6. No missing shares this time but still get the scrolling message (screenshot attached) when trying to shutdown array to add another drive. UI becomes unresponsive if I click on another tab or try to reload web page, just stays at 'Waiting for 192.168.0.109..." tower-diagnostics-20161104-1733.zip
  7. Yup, and of course I only changed the view level on the individual pages... Thanks!
  8. I was using tvheadend on Ubuntu and I'm trying to get it set up on unRAID along with all the other stuff I had running. I have the basic functionality working but I'm running into an issue getting the guide data into tvheadend. I'm using webgrab++ and think that is working properly. I seem to be missing the EPG modules tab from tvheadend. I tried all view levels and I'm logged into admin account. Any idea what is going on with this or what I could have done to lose the tab?
  9. Hi folks. I'm still getting things set up and moving data over the network. I noticed shares were not accessible on a windows machine and when checking the webui noticed there were no shares. A quick forum search had similar problems and some said to stop and re-start the array. Clicked on the confirmation check bot and stop button. There was a continuously scrolling message on the bottom of the screen about unmounting (forgot exact message). Clicking on other tabs (dashboard, shares, etc.) did not update page, tried to reload but no page or error message loaded. Have a monitor/keyboard on the server so tried 'samba stop', still no webui. Ran diagnostics from command line then typed reboot. Started array from webui (not set to auto and no parity yet). Everything seems to have come back fine. The server was up for a little over 2 days and was running the second of 3 preclear cycles on a recently installed drive at the time of the issue. For some reason there are 2 diag files created a minute apart so I attached both. Would anyone have an idea what might cause the loss of shares, the issue stopping the array and webui lockup? tower-diagnostics-20161102-1812.zip tower-diagnostics-20161102-1814.zip
  10. How are your drive temps with the quieter fans in the 5x3 bays? I've read the Norcos run hotter with slower fans.
  11. Welcome to the forums. Sounds like an interesting project. I'm looking forward to see what you do on the smarthome side of things, and pictures, I always like pictures.
  12. The docker installed with 3 ports. This was done earlier today so I believe it is the latest version. I removed the 8118 port and it installed, stared, and seems to run without issue. Thanks for the help!
  13. I did not try changing anything yet. Both dockers installed with that port mapped (container=8118, host=8118). If this port is not needed would I just remove the setting ("Remove" button)?
  14. Hi guys. I'm trying to get this running and I think I have a conflict with binhex-sabnzbdvpn. When I try to install delugevpn I get an error docker: Error response from daemon: failed to create endpoint binhex-delugevpn on network bridge: Bind for 0.0.0.0:8118 failed: port is already allocated. It appears sab is also using this port as shown in 'deployed ports" binhex-sabnzbdvpn 8080 8090 8118 binhex-delugevpn 8112 58846 8118 I don't know enough about how virtualization works to know what this port is used for and if I can change or remove it. I do have ENABLE_PRIVOXY=no in deluge as mentioned earlier in this thread.
  15. Quick update. Specs in sig, array is running with data drives only and still moving media files over the network and between drives to free some up in order to move them to the unRAID. Setting up Dockers to replace functionality of old Ubuntu machine. http://imgur.com/a/yEauB
  16. Let us know how gaming is with that chip and if there is a performance hit with the lower clock speed. I'm building a system with the same CPU and since my main gaming rig has been moved to another room for VR use, a second gaming system could come in handy. It's not something I was planning on but if it's capable enough, I guess, why not?
  17. Got most of the parts in on Saturday. Went with 3x4tb reds. Got the system up and running. Had to order more cables and still need to work on wiring before closing everything up. New drives are in one of the internal Cooler Master Trooper's 4x3 cages, Norco cage will be for adding in the smaller drives from my old system since they will be replaced first. Might add another hot swap cage in the near future. Was into the second of three pre-clears last night when the power cut out for a few seconds, which never happens... Put the system on a UPS and started another 2 pre-clear cycle. I was planning on bringing up the array with 2x4tb for data, copy data from old 4tb, set 3rd new 4tb as parity, and build. This would protect the data so I could then test and clear the old 4tb and add it as a data drive. Then continue with all the other, smaller drives. If this doesn't make sense please let me know. One thing I did notice is in the info screen IOMMU is showing as Disabled. I thought I had set Intel Virtualization to enabled in advanced settings and VT-d as well as both sub options to enabled under system agent configuration but I'll have to wait for the drives to finish before verifying.
  18. That's probably the main reason I went with this combo. You seemed to be doing everything I wanted (and then some), and I'm more comfortable using a known good combination. No reason in particular. Thought they had a good reputation with a 6 year warranty. Currently it's just over $4 more than the one you listed (Be Cool! is on sale till the end of the month on Newegg) and I'm open to recommendations. Hadn't thought of color coordination... The 8TB parity would be to cover future expansion and allow for larger data disks in the future, as I seem to have a habit of adding larger drives as I expand. I currently have less than 1TB free across all drives and I think I'd have to add at least one data drive to the array before I can start moving data so might have to sneak in a 6 or 8 when the wife isn't looking. Reading around, it seems like a hassle to switch from parity to data. From a reliability standpoint, I don't know if it's better to go with a larger number of small drives or a smaller number of large drives. Dual parity is most likely to happen in the future. Feel free to talk me into, or out of, any of this if there are better alternatives/approaches.
  19. Since I've picked up an E5-2683 V3 would anyone care to sanity check the rest of this build? http://pcpartpicker.com/list/rhqNpb The 8Tb red will be for the parity drive and the other drives are what I already have. I think I have a 250G SSD for the cache/app drive. The older, smaller drives might be replaced with something else as I start to move files. I also have an external 4 bay eSATA enclosure and controller card in my current pc that will be available. Would the single graphics card be able to work for unRAID as well as the Ubuntu VM or would I need a second one for desktop use? I'm also not sure about sharing keyboard/mouse between the two systems. Would I use a standard KVM switch into different ports?
  20. Is it correct that with a multi-core setup like this the load from several dockers will be spread to different cores/threads and not all trying to run on a few that are being used by unRAID?
  21. Thanks. I've seen the build in your sig while reading through some of the hardware forums and was thinking of using that MB/cpu combo as there are still some cpus on the used market. It might be overkill for what I'm doing but at least it's proven to work and is somewhat future-proof, being a newer MB spec. I was looking for something to fit in an Antec 1200 so I prefer the ATX form factor over a server board.
  22. Thanks for the breakdown. I have some gfx cards laying around so that will be the way to go. Still reading through the hardware sections, trying to decide on a cpu/motherboard.
  23. I've been looking at the same ones on ebay as I'm planning my first build. It seems all the SR12R say they are remarked QHVK. I haven't been able to find anything on that yet so please post back what you find.
  24. Ok, thanks! I'm still trying to wrap my head around non physical stuff.
  25. Thanks for the welcome and info! The LSIO dockers look great and it does look like there are more applications than I could ever use. Trurl, I was planning on using the Ubuntu VM at the same physical location as the machine/monitor/keyboard. Are you saying to use rdp from the unraid machine into the VM running on the same machine? I have used rdp a little but it was laggy, might have just been my hardware at the time.
