  1. I often wondered this too. I just run with "nobody" and run Docker Safe Permissions after moving things and wonder if using root would be a good idea or not to avoid running Docker Safe Permissions Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk

This drive use to be in a machine that had a Gigabyte motherboard in it, I wonder if its messed with that drive. EDIT: Doesn't look like it messed with it, I had to remove the HPA from another drive before. root@Server:/usr/local/emhttp/state# hdparm -N /dev/sde /dev/sde: max sectors = 1953525168/1953525168, HPA is disabled

  5. Cups was working great but all of a sudden I'm getting "Filter Failed". I removed the docker went to appdata and deleted the CUPS folder there and reinstalled from scratch but it's giving the same error.
  6. I run a pfSense VM for my router/firewall with a NIC dedicated to it and when I boot up I have to wait for Docker and Plugins to finish timing out before it brings KVM up then I have internet, but I have to go and calm down the "Fix Common Problems" plugin. Can an option be added which has the ability to reorder the startup services? Like a list of services with a grid of bullitt points with a grid from first to last? Or if there's a plugin for it that would be awesome too. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  7. Even if it did that I would get two of these cards and run it in RAID5/6
  8. Would anything like these http://www.ebay.com/itm/HP-IO-DRIVE-DUO-640GB-SOLID-STATE-DRIVE-SSD-IO-ACCELERATOR-CARD-600478-001/311445395739?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649 work in unRAID? I guess i could just wait till Black Friday and then update my Cache Pool with normal SSDs, IDK yet.
  9. Just download the trial and see if you like it. Make sure you have VT-d and VT-x enabled in your bios so passthrough works. Don't keep any data dives your care about in the box while testing and use your SSDs as a cache dive. For tutorials check out the forum members gridrunner's youtube channel https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCZDfnUn74N0WeAPvMqTOrtA Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  10. I use pfSense, you could do a VM and use a dedicated multi port nic passed to it. That's what I'm going to do, I have a dedicated box for it right now. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  11. I just call the Cache Module a key because I'm too lazy to type it lol. I had a problem with it being able to spin down the disk and unRAID wouldn't read the SMART data from the disk either on the latest firmware for it.
  12. Oh you quoted me before I edited the RAID out of my post
  13. Half right, without the RAID key installed on the board you can only do 4 arrays, after that you have to have the key.
  14. You cant put the P410i in JBOD/IT mode, on my HP DL370 G6 I had to get a HP H220 SAS card, this is the exact listing I got mine from https://www.ebay.com/p/HP-638834-001-LSI-Sas9205-8i-6gb-SAS-Pci-e-HBA-Card-Host-Bus-Adapter-660088-001/1540401135?_trksid=p2047675.m4096.l9055 If you need more ports you can get this SAS Expander http://www.ebay.com/itm/468405-002-468405-001-HP-24-BAY-3GB-SAS-EXPANDER-CARD-W-4x-CABLE-/131875011137?epid=723600883&hash=item1eb45cfa41:g:PBoAAOSwq~tZXRnq These are the exact ones I have.
  15. Makes me wonder if I should start considering a Dual LAN Card. I wonder if using the virtual bridge is causing issues, beyond that it works fine, heck I get better speeds on the download than I do on my old box. I only get 29/29.5 on the old pfSense box and 32-33 down on the unRaid VM, upload is obviously broke though ;'(
  16. So in my quest to virtualize all the things I decided to put another NIC in my server, plug my Modem directly to that card and attempted to setup pfSense. I isolated the NIC so unRAID wouldn't use it and then setup pfSense using a modified Free BSD template. <domain type='kvm'> <name>pfSense</name> <uuid>12f924fd-3b91-f15a-2a45-fd73e5455cbc</uuid> <description>pfSense Firewall</description> <metadata> <vmtemplate xmlns="unraid" name="FreeBSD" icon="freebsd.png" os="freebsd"/> </metadata> <memory unit='KiB'>4194304</memory> <currentMemory unit='KiB'>4194304</currentMemory> <memoryBacking> <nosharepages/> </memoryBacking> <vcpu placement='static'>2</vcpu> <cputune> <vcpupin vcpu='0' cpuset='8'/> <vcpupin vcpu='1' cpuset='12'/> </cputune> <os> <type arch='x86_64' machine='pc-i440fx-2.9'>hvm</type> </os> <features> <acpi/> <apic/> </features> <cpu mode='host-passthrough' check='none'> <topology sockets='1' cores='1' threads='2'/> </cpu> <clock offset='utc'> <timer name='rtc' tickpolicy='catchup'/> <timer name='pit' tickpolicy='delay'/> <timer name='hpet' present='no'/> </clock> <on_poweroff>destroy</on_poweroff> <on_reboot>restart</on_reboot> <on_crash>restart</on_crash> <devices> <emulator>/usr/local/sbin/qemu</emulator> <disk type='file' device='disk'> <driver name='qemu' type='raw' cache='writeback'/> <source file='/mnt/user/domains/pfSense/vdisk1.img'/> <target dev='hdc' bus='sata'/> <boot order='1'/> <address type='drive' controller='0' bus='0' target='0' unit='2'/> </disk> <disk type='file' device='cdrom'> <driver name='qemu' type='raw'/> <source file='/mnt/user/isos/Firewalls/pfSense/pfSense-CE-2.3.3-RELEASE-amd64.iso'/> <target dev='hda' bus='ide'/> <readonly/> <boot order='2'/> <address type='drive' controller='0' bus='0' target='0' unit='0'/> </disk> <controller type='usb' index='0' model='ich9-ehci1'> <address type='pci' domain='0x0000' bus='0x00' slot='0x07' function='0x7'/> </controller> <controller type='usb' index='0' model='ich9-uhci1'> <master startport='0'/> <address type='pci' domain='0x0000' bus='0x00' slot='0x07' function='0x0' multifunction='on'/> </controller> <controller type='usb' index='0' model='ich9-uhci2'> <master startport='2'/> <address type='pci' domain='0x0000' bus='0x00' slot='0x07' function='0x1'/> </controller> <controller type='usb' index='0' model='ich9-uhci3'> <master startport='4'/> <address type='pci' domain='0x0000' bus='0x00' slot='0x07' function='0x2'/> </controller> <controller type='pci' index='0' model='pci-root'/> <controller type='ide' index='0'> <address type='pci' domain='0x0000' bus='0x00' slot='0x01' function='0x1'/> </controller> <controller type='sata' index='0'> <address type='pci' domain='0x0000' bus='0x00' slot='0x04' function='0x0'/> </controller> <controller type='virtio-serial' index='0'> <address type='pci' domain='0x0000' bus='0x00' slot='0x05' function='0x0'/> </controller> <interface type='bridge'> <mac address='52:54:00:ea:67:e1'/> <source bridge='virbr0'/> <model type='virtio'/> <address type='pci' domain='0x0000' bus='0x00' slot='0x03' function='0x0'/> </interface> <serial type='pty'> <target port='0'/> </serial> <console type='pty'> <target type='serial' port='0'/> </console> <channel type='unix'> <target type='virtio' name='org.qemu.guest_agent.0'/> <address type='virtio-serial' controller='0' bus='0' port='1'/> </channel> <input type='tablet' bus='usb'> <address type='usb' bus='0' port='1'/> </input> <input type='mouse' bus='ps2'/> <input type='keyboard' bus='ps2'/> <graphics type='vnc' port='-1' autoport='yes' websocket='-1' listen='0.0.0.0' keymap='en-us'> <listen type='address' address='0.0.0.0'/> </graphics> <video> <model type='qxl' ram='65536' vram='65536' vgamem='16384' heads='1' primary='yes'/> <address type='pci' domain='0x0000' bus='0x00' slot='0x02' function='0x0'/> </video> <hostdev mode='subsystem' type='pci' managed='yes'> <driver name='vfio'/> <source> <address domain='0x0000' bus='0x24' slot='0x00' function='0x0'/> </source> <address type='pci' domain='0x0000' bus='0x00' slot='0x06' function='0x0'/> </hostdev> <memballoon model='virtio'> <address type='pci' domain='0x0000' bus='0x00' slot='0x08' function='0x0'/> </memballoon> </devices> </domain> Once installed I can, using VNC assign the NIC that I have the modem on to the WAN, and then assign the Virtual Bridged NIC device to LAN. I then do the basic setup in pfSense (I have done it countless times over the years) and find that I get a faster download (like 2Mbps faster) but my upload is like on average .04 Mbps up. I pay for a 30/2Mbps connection. When I put the old pfSense box back in place, reboot the modem because it holds on the MAC of the last thing it was plugged into then My internet speeds are back. I want all the traffice to go threw the unRAID server's virtual Switch to get to the pfSense install. I'm using Balancing Mode 6 ALB as I have 4 connections going to my regular network switch. Am I doing something wrong or should I be doing something different?
  17. If anyone is crazy like I am and runs Insider Builds. starting on Build 16226 if you are running a Headless server you absolutely have to put the virtual sound card in or you will get invalid attributes when you try to elevate to an admin. I think maybe we should add a section with check boxes to select different virtual sound cards in the VM Creation Screen.
  18. So Nvidia requires a monitor connected for GameStream on the 10 series cards now, connected a monitor and it was as amazing as you would expect, time to go and buy the 1060 this pay day, gonna pick up this one for the blower design cooler https://www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=06G-P4-5161-KR And a dummy plug. 20. From the looks of it the 770 is stable. I updated the BIOS in the 660 ti back when it was my desktops main gpu. I wanted uefi boot on my desktop so I contacted evga and they sent me the bios for it Sent from my HTC 10 using Tapatalk
  21. So updates. I was home sick last night from work so had some time to play around with this. The performance issue was solved by going to unRAID 6.4 RC2 It fixed my odd Core pairings, I also turned Hyper-V on as I seen that @gridrunner left his on in his last video series for setting up a Windows 10 VM. So that was the performance issue solved. The odd crash. I was able to play games on GameStream for about an hour until the VM hard locks. The only way I can get the VM back up without code 43 was to reboot the server. I was able to repeat the issue after like 45 minutes. So two more times of that I have been borrowing a friends GTX 770 so I put that in there and was able to play Devil May Cry 4 SE all the way through, I was able to play Bayonetta about half way till I went to bed. So my GTX 660 Ti (with 3GB of vRAM and flashed to support UEFI from EVGA) apparently has an issue with being on KVM, the card works fine when I take out the GTX 1080 Ti in my Desktop and put the GTX 660 Ti in and GameStream works fine on my Bare Metal Desktop. So anyone know if the 1060 (6GB version) works ok with unRAID?
  22. Hey Everyone, I love unRAID. I finally got the server up and running, everything looks to be working ok.......ish...... So one of my VMs is a Gaming VM that I use for nVidia GameStream. its got a GTX 660Ti 3GB card on it. I have the Audio portion of the card passed to it too. When I first setup the VM it worked great, was getting over 100 FPS on games like Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition (its got a benchmark tool on the main menu of the game) and Streat Fighter 4 Ultimate (same kind benchmark on the main menu). Pretty much I got bare metal performance. One day the VM crashed, I rebooted it and found that the GPU was stuck in Code 43, I passed the GPU's BIOS to it, didn't work. I had to remove the GPU from the VM setting it back to VNC and then putting it back and then the GPU started working again only this time the GPU's performance is horrible. I'm lucky to hold a 40 FPS average in the same to games. In my troubleshooting, I wiped the VM of the system completely, re-installed Windows, installed the drivers, passed the GPU and its HDMI Audio back over, and got the same bad performance. I noticed that CPU Performance was kinda bad in the VM at this time so I attempted to dedicate the threads to the VM and that didn't seem to do anything. Sometimes if I'm lucky the VM will just work at full speed and be great but then the VM will crash and I'll have to un-pass and then re-pass the GPU for the VM to be able to use the GPU again. I have even went through and enabled the MSI on the GPU and the HDMI Audio. I have even tried using a friends GTX 770 and get the same results. The System is a HP DL370 G6 2x 5570 CPUs 96GB of RAM At this point, I don't know what to do I have tried everything I can google about this. Here are my CPU and Thread pairings. cpu 0 <===> cpu 16 cpu 2 <===> cpu 18 cpu 4 <===> cpu 20 cpu 6 <===> cpu 22 cpu 8 <===> cpu 24 cpu 10 <===> cpu 26 cpu 12 <===> cpu 28 cpu 14 <===> cpu 30 The
