I've had my server off for quite some time now and upon powering it up I get a validation error. To be honest I had attempted to upgrade it last year and for some reason I couldn't access. I can get to the Main window from the Web-Gui and it shows I'm on version 6.2.0-beta23. I can't start the array because it says missing or invalid registration key. I had an original copy of the Pro.key but get the same issue.

Resolved - Guess I should have just done this first but I went into shares and set each share to Use Cache Disk:No then back to Yes and it started. Seemed like that would have been too simple.

Just double checked and they are all set to 'Yes' for Use cache disk.

Running 6.1-rc6 - Syslog attached Some time ago the mover stopped working. It looks like it's skipping the shares. A few days ago I lost communication with my unRAID server and thought it was my Router. My router was having issue and was replaced. I connected a monitor to my unRAID and upon booting I get; 'Disk Error Press any key to restart' I connected the USB drive to another computer and was able to copy the unRAID contents from it. I formatted the drive and replaced the files but continue to get the error. I even get the same error when booting from the USB drive on another system. I'm guessing my USB drive is bad. Would I be able to transfer my license to another USB drive or something to that effect? I thought I read a while back that somebody had sent their USB drive to Lime and was able to get a replacement code for a new USB drive.

Looks like I might have the issue isolated down to my cable modem. New one on the way.

I upgraded to 5.0 just over a month ago and while streaming a video from it the other night I lost connectivity. Tried the basics, er reboot but still unable to communicate with it. I don't normally keep a monitor connected so I connected one and the system boots up and goes past the BIOS but then I get to just a flashing cursor and no response from any keystrokes. I pulled the USB and plugged into my other PC and all the files are listed so that seems to be fine. Any ideas on what I could try next?

Just wanted to drop a note to give a big thanks to Tom and all the others that make Unraid so great. My Unraid server has been running solid for 4 years now and am greatful for the low maintenance reliability while having the utmost confidence in the protection of my files. -Thank you

I was wondering if it was an XP thing that was only seeing partial. I also noticed that my cache drive was missing which was right below the parity drive in the same 4-in-3 Icy Dock cage. I moved them both up to a different Icy Dock using the same cables and the cache drive came back and now parity is synching again. I'll let it get back in sync and then see about ordering another Icy Dock. The fact that lost 2 drives on the same Icy Dock would make it fairly certain of that being the issue and not like a PSU power lead, right? I only say that as maybe something else to lookout for.

So I'm not certain what happened but a few days ago it appeared as though my parity drive failed. The parity drive is the largest at 3TB with my other drives at 1.5 and 2TB's. I tried to run a SMART test using Seatools but it said not available. When I connected it to my Windows system the size only showed 746GB's. I receive a new 3TB drive today and placed it in and it started to sync but then stopped as if it failed too. I would appreciate any guidance for what I should try. I'd like to see the full system log. Pleaes email to me [email protected] One of your hard drives does not appear to support SMART or at least doesn't support reading temperatures... is this correct? Just wanted to report back that I swapped out my old IDE Cache drive for a newer SATA drive with great results. 4.5GB file copied over in 01:37 at an average speed of 46 MB/s.

Still slow for me when uploading. On every build for a while I still only get 14 MB/s when uploading. I can switch back to 4.4.2 and get 40 MB/s. I pulled the Syslog from unmenu. The file was 2.65 GB and it took 3:12 to up it to the array. Hope it's cool to bump this. Anybody have an idea as to why my upload speed is only 14 MB/s? I always just replace bzimage and bzroot files when updating. Is there some other sort of refresh I can do? I also tried that smb-extra.conf file without success. Uploading starts out at near 30 MB/s but within 5 seconds slows to 14 MB/s. If I replace the bzimage and bzroot files back to 4.4.2 I get near 40 MB/s with bursts up to 50. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

You're correct Rob and I just realized the receipt from my last visit had a '5% off on your next visit' coupon so if you have more than one thing to buy you may want to buy the cheaper item first in hopes of the additional 5% coupon.

4.5-beta11 still not any faster for me with regards to uploading. Only getting 14 MB/s to the cache. unRAID 4.4.2 gives me 38+ MB/s.

Just to report that this update still has not increased my write speed. 4.37 GB file took 5:19 to copy. (14 mb average) I guess it's back 4.4.2 until next time. Thanks all the same.
