  1. I found this article and added the ports listed in it as well and rebooted the router and everything is working fine now. I am not sure if the additional ports are needed and will perform some more testing to see if I can close them. I know I should have done one at a time to better nail down what change worked, but I will update you incase it is the ports. Thanks for trying to help. Port Forwarding on Your Router for Valheim
  2. I checked my router. UDP only is selected. I added the range of 2456-2458. They have tried using ports 2456 and 2457 to connect. I checked with another friend and they are not able to find my sever in the community listing, but I see it there. I will check with my ISP, however, my Emby server is able to talk to the outside world.

  4. I have a Valheim server running and I am able to connect and play on it. I am able to join the server every which way possible; Steam, direct IP address input in game, as well as finding my serer in the list of public servers. My friends, however, are unable to connect. I am able to find my sever using sothnode.net. The ports are forwarded and my password is 5 characters. And ideas why other people cannot connect to the server?
  5. I'm lost.... All of the sudden while adding a link deluge just crashed. WebuUI stopped responding and just general funky behavior. Try a few thins and realize that I am not updated to the latest version of anything so I update unraid and everything else. Still having issues so I figure I will redo my deluge install. I follow spaceinvaderones video (as always) and get it back to where I can get into the webUI. Great. I am going to set up my download preference to /data/incomplete and /data/complete (those are the names of my folders) and I can not apply my changes. The word "error" is visilbe in the complete lower right corner and the message is "free space in downloads folder". There is no visible IP address. When I go the plugins section of the preferences it is blank. There are no options form me to choose. 6. An Issue just started on my server. When logging into my server or selecting a different menu area (dashboard, main, etc) everything looks normal. After about 10 seconds of being on the page the entire GUI "shifts" to the banner area. The bottom portion of the browser window turns black and a scroll bar appears in the banner section. I can use that bar and navigate unRAID as normal, but only in the GUI. *edit - this only happens in chrome. Firefox works as nornal I have added screen shots and the syslog syslog.txt
  7. I want to set up an Ubuntu VM to be my daily web browsing driver. No matter what I try I can not change the resolution. I have tried various remote control tools such as no machine or team viewer, but I can not get the resolution to change. Any ideas on where to start fixing this? I am using Ubuntu 16.04.4, but I am open to other options.
  8. I have Trans-coding set to automatic in Plex. I have community applications installed, but i do not see resource monitor anywhere.
  9. Just as the title says. Currently my wife is streaming TV shows on Plex. I am waiting content via VLC. Every so often the Average CPU load jumps up to 73% I have a 4.2 4790K in my server. Is there a way I can see what is causing the spike? Is this normal? If any more info is needed please let me know.
  10. I would prefer to keep all off this internal to my network. I guess I need to spend more time in figuring out how to keep my shares private and keep the media share open. I like the concept of this, but I prefer more off line control of the content. For online streaming I have Plex, but more often than not I need more off-line. Thank you for your help in this.
  11. Ok. I got everything set up and working properly, but I cant figure out how to download the track onto the device.
  12. Hopefully I can explain this in a means that everyone can understand this... I am fairly new to unRAID so I am still learning. Problem - I want my wife to be able to access my music collection from her cellphone so she can listen to it off-line. Obstacles - My wife only wants to use her Android cell phone. Google Play music and Plex Player App do not play nice with her cars Bluetooth. Infrastructure - Obviously I have my unRAID server running V 6.3.5. I have my Windows Desktop, but i would prefer that the solution not run on this machine An Ubuntu VM Plex with a Plex Pass What I have tried - I have tried using Plex. However, with this method There are two problems. First is the Plex media player doesn't play nice with her car's Bluetooth. Second, I have not been able to figure out how to move the synced files to a location that her preferred music app Power Amp Can access them. I looked into Subsonic and Madsonic. but also ran into issues with that for getting files to the phone. Using ES File Manger Pro on my phone. This method shows the most promise, with a few flaws for my setup. All of my shares are visible. Including the stuff you normally don't want the wife seeing. I tried setting the shares to private but you can still see them ( I don't want anyone else out side of my windows desktop knowing the folders exist). When I make them hidden I run into windows authentication problems. The method needs to be simple and low maintenance. While my wife is smart enough she gets frustrated when things don't work right.
  13. I just got my unRAID box up and running and I figured I would take the time to re-tag all of my music. I use Music Bee for this. There is music that Music Bee wouldn't let me tag because the file was read only. I tried the old school windows method and it worked (right lick on the folder, properties, unchecked read only). I came across another folder and it is not working. Am I just brain dead?
  14. I am fairly new to unRAID. I have done a lot of google-fu on VMs in unRAID, but most of the support out there is for Windows or OSX. I am attempting to install an Ubuntu 16 vm. I am able to "get it going" in unRAID, however, the gui is very very very slow. Also, when ever I attempt to type any information during the initial install / setup it becomes unusable. Random key strokes send multiple instances. For example try and type "ubuntu" as the computer name i will get something like " ubbbbbbbbbbbbuntu". If I delete the text and start over next time will be "ubuntttttttttttttttttttttttttttttu". This happens for every block of text that needs to be completed. My machine specs are as follows i7-4790k CPU. All of the options for virtualization are enabled. 16GB ram asus z97-ar mobo. I ran virtual machines on this computer when it was my everyday windows machine with no issues. If there is any information I left out that you need please let me know. Again I am very new to this.
  15. I am very new to unRAID. I have just started my initial configuration of the server. I have two 4TB drives and one 120 SSD for cache. I was able to assign the drives to the array, and formatted them. My question is will all of the drives be erased? I just want to make sure that unRAID will format and delete the data on the drives as I want to make sure they are clean. Also, is it normal to have Parity invalid warning during the initial set up?
  16. So I do in fact need to move my media off of the drives before setting up the unraid box
  17. OK.... After a lot of begging to my wife (she controls the purse strings) she is allowing me to build a new rig for my gaming needs and I am going to turn my current computer into the unRAID box. The specs are as follows i7-4790k CPU 16gb ram 2x 4tb HDD 1x 120 SSD There is also a lot of room for expansion of more drives. I do have one final question. Currently my media is on a 4tb drive that is split into 2x 2tb partitions. What do I need to do to make these drives ready unRAID? Can I do any setup work via windows to prep to make moving the data easier?
  18. Thank you for the response. i know the machine I'm using is crap, but its what I have on hand. If I like the platform I will then upgrade to something better.
  19. I am wanting to create a media server to take the strain off of my gaming desktop. I am trying to do this as cheaply as I can as my wife really doesn't want another piece of nerd gear. My brother turned me on to unRAID as alternative to a standard NAS. I am just about ready to make the jump, but I have a few questions. 1) This PC will be used for the unRAID box. It will have x2 4TB hard disks. 1 for Parity and one for data. Plex Media server will be just about hte only thing running on this. My desktop handles all of my other needs. Will that box be good enough for PMS and unRAID. 2) The website says that a max size of 32GB should be used for the thumb drive containing unRAID. My brother (a computer god) says he is using a 128GB thumb drive. Can I use a 128GB? will I get any better performance out of it if I can? 3)Is a cache drive necessary? Will a regular HDD work as a cache drive? Thanks in advance.
