No, we are talking about the case when the server is already on but locked.
OK.
Now you can just extract the key out of ram. Thats what you mean? And if it were encrypted, you couldnt do that.
But dont we have the same problem again, where comes the pw for the encrypted ram?

I think you’ve misunderstood the meaning of Physical access maybe? Physical access means being in the same room as the server not necessarily while it is unlocked.
Yes, someone could enter while the server is not on, but then how do you usually start the server? you have to have some sort of password, physical, or an automated way to unlock it... right?
-
How would you do that? If you dont have the key, the server cant function.
edit:
ok where is the key stored to encrypt ram?
-
yeah if u have physical access, just dont turn off the pc and you have it anyway...

Please finally include (some sort of) portainer (stack) support....

Dont know why that dir cache plugin is still online, it never helped me not spinning up drives

To give some feedback, nearly a month later. I just had one ipvlan crash, the same sort like it was doing with macvlan.
After that, nearly a month without any issues.

i looked thru github and this thread and some doc on unraids site....
what link i can give a dev to add his docker to community apps? Would be probably good to post that link somewhere visible

No idea what you're talking about...
I'm not the author of either the container, samples or documentation.
Are you the author for this thread tho?
You have uncomplete instructions in your first post which makes it harder for ppl to get it startet.

But i see now i already suggestet that a year ago, also told him the config errors he made and its still there... so he just likes to "fix" the same problems over and over again - i guess.
-
I dont have that problem, but i cant understand why you not automatic do the neccessary changes...?

Okay, you’ve motivated me to see this Coral thing through. I read that a lot of the included cables are bad, doesn’t supply enough voltage or something. I did try another sketch cable and got the same result but I’m not convinced either of these cables are doing what they need to. Will try to grab another cable while I’m out today.
One thing I’m hoping for is that the Coral generates a lot less heat than my Nvidia card and leave it freed up for video transcoding. Seems like it will fit the bill.
The Coral device I have is identifying itself with the changing identifier. I believe this has something to do with my issues of it not working? Perhaps you could recommend a procedure for verifying my Coral is actually good?
Anyway, I appreciate the help, thank you, thank you!
Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkDid u grant the docker higher rights? That was the only thing, besides config, for me, i got it today running...

No guarantees of results, unless you don't post diagnostics. Then you are guaranteed to have no further help.
Yes, i know. Problem is i needed to restart too many times, it only saves last log...

The Coral Driver plugin is only for PCI based devices (I'll add a note to the plugin)
by now i noticed it, to make it short, the question is, why higher rights? cant we just passthru the usb?
-
Is there any reason there is no pre configured variable for usb passthru? Or is that not needed?
Or there is no mention in this thread, nor in the coral driver plugin, how to do that?
shouldnt something liek this be direct in the template and or first page?
Only mention i found is in the docker description i should give frigate admin, but cant the usb just be passed thru without higher privileges?

Can someone post diagnostics after a crash. There is not enough diagnostics here to do anything with,

Not possible, because each individual Unraid version needs all drivers to be recompiled and then uploaded so that users can download them, it's not like if you are installing a driver on Windows.
You are basically downloading a precompiled Nvidia driver version for your specific Unraid version if you install a driver through the plugin and yes I have to store all the drivers for each individual Unraid version.
Ah, okay, i didnt know that. I thought you just link to nvidia...
Then i dont see a fix for this.

Just to clarify:
- When you are not updating and just rebooting the server while the driver version is set to a specific version on the plugin page it will stay on that driver version (even if it isn't anymore in the list <- this can happen when Nvidia releases much drivers in a short period of time).
Yes i understand that.
6 minutes ago, ich777 said:- When you are updating the Unraid version and the static driver version that you've selected is not available for the new Unraid version it will go back to latest <- what should the plugin else use?
I would suggest to keep all versions, so it never changes the version without user input. I guess you only store the links and versions, so not the real drivers, right? So that shouldnt be a problem.

That's not what I've said...
Even the confusion is confused!!!
You said
"If you are upgrading or downgrading to another Unraid version where that specific driver version is not available it will indeed fall back to the latest option since this is the only viable option for me since the plugin can't know what version one would like use now."
I told you i also did a update, so this is probably what happend?
Are we on the same tracks now?

You are not alone.
You still have not said what you've did. Did you just reboot? Did you up- or downgrade the Unraid version? Where are your Diagnostics?
I would really like to see two sets of Diagnostics from you on after you set the driver version to a static version on the plugin page and then another one after a reboot of your server after it changed back to latest.
I cant tell you what exactly lead to this. I just noticed it atleast 3 times by now. (since u released this)
I did numerous restarts and a update.
If you say it defaults to latest when its no longer in the list, i think we have the problem already found... 🙂

I think you missunderstood, if the specific driver version that you've selected is not available for the new Unraid version that you are up- or downgrading I have to fall back to the latest available version.
It does because the second bullet point is only true if you are up- or downgrading the Unraid version.
As said across reboots (without a Unraid up- or downgrade) I can't reproduce what you are experiencing and the version just stays the same as what I selected in the plugin.
Or do you mean that I should keep all driver versions for all Unraid versions?
Im a little bit confused.
How can a nvidia update be "not avaible for unraid"?
"It does because the second bullet point is only true if you are up- or downgrading the Unraid version."
What does that mean? As far as i know it will download the latest (selected) version when restarting? (if needed)
"Or do you mean that I should keep all driver versions for all Unraid versions?"
Im not sure what you mean, do you keep the driver files? Or do you just keep the database? I mean if we just talk about some kb for each version, why not allow that?

Oh rly, i know, why you tell me this?
were talking about encrypted ram here?
But anyway, i dont want to continue this discussion.
