  2. here is this one from active transmission, I thought being "all applications" it might be more generic, weirdly the only one working is plex. 3. Hi all i hope i can get an asnwer to this its driving me crazy, New to unraid and really struggling to get apps to work after they are installed. I have the community applications plugin installed and this works fine (or at least i can press install and off it goes and installs the app. However when i try to launch the app from the dashboard i get this message. This site can’t be reached 192.168.1.145 refused to connect. Try: Checking the connection Checking the proxy and the firewall ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED I am having issues with this on Owncloud, Next cloud and active transmission. these are the only 3 i have tried to install so far and getting the same if not similar messages as above. this is the setting that it has defaulted too. any one have any idea what im doing wrong? I have followed youtube tutorials to the letter and im getting the same errors every time. fb upload image
  4. Hi Guys Looking to setup a really easy to use for others cloud system, After a simple system such as the synology "DS file" app etc. I notice i have the choice of Nextcloud and owncloud. what one is best? want to map a share or two to it ideally so that users can access their files from browsers away from home etc. advice welcomed
  5. Thank you very much sir, 113MB's now did not even have to pause the upload. how did i not find this anywhere.... Thanks again this has made a huge difference.
  6. Hi All So i have been using xpenology for a while but decided this weekend to change to something "legit" that i dont fear my data on every update. so have now got unraid running and quickly (or slowly maybe) learning how to use everything (watching lots of youtube) but one thing i can seem to find is why im only getting Half the transfer speed of xpenology. On xpenology i was getting 109MBs transfer speed (maxing out the ethernet) but with Unraid im getting about 48MB's (the first 100MB or so i get full speed) then it slows. My system is: (copied from unraid) Model: Custom M/B: LENOVO - ThinkServer TS140 CPU: Intel® Xeon® CPU E3-1226 v3 @ 3.30GHz HVM: Enabled IOMMU: Disabled Cache: 1024 kB, 256 kB, 8192 kB Memory: 8 GB Single-bit ECC (max. installable capacity 32 GB) Network: bond0: fault-tolerance (active-backup), mtu 1500 eth0: 1000 Mb/s, full duplex, mtu 1500 Kernel: Linux 4.14.26-unRAID x86_64 OpenSSL: 1.0.2n I currently only have 1 ethernet card in the machine but have a spare 4 port laying about so could bond 5 together but im guessing its not the ethernet thats maxing out im guessing its the way Unraid works? is their a way to solve this ? I do not have a Cache drive as of yet as i felt with xpenology it was quick enough for my applications without. Drives installed are 4x2tb WD red's 1X4TB WD red (as the parity drive) I have another 4TB red to go in on my desk but wanted to setup the array and they add another to test that feature Any ideas? Jay
  7. Im using a 8gb usb3 flash drive with. No issues in a usb3 port. Handy as i have hundreds of them as promotional gifts Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. OK Its all setup now and seems to be working, he VM is on the SSD and the CCTV software writing to the WD Purple just fine. Getting my hear around this all slowly but surely. Next task moving my Plex server from a Synology environment to Unraid. The Mrs is going to be so unhappy if i cannot transfer how far she is into each season etc..... ha
  9. Ah yes thanks. Keep stumbling over with unraid but going to stick with it and learn as much as i can and try get a stable machine at the end. Only have a few days of free licence left was hoping to have a solid machine by the time i have to stump up Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Got the cache back however cannot format the unassigned device but maybe i need to take the array offline first. Even the format letter is greyed out but as i say the array is running (without the purple in it) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Seems to have worked Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Cheers bud off into the loft i go Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Am i correct in saying its "C" Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Really stupid question but where is the drive letter shown? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Think i will start over with a 6+ core machine, going to need additional VM's in the future for the Mrs business so investing in some grunt now will make sense later. Maybe 8+8 will keep me going but might try find a dual cpu board for even more future proofing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Thanks buddy will give it a go when i get home and report back Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. OK im a little confused by this, Think i need to give up for the eve and put my head to this tomorrow, All i want to do it format the SSD and assign it as a cache drive again, Why is this so difficult when i have no cache at the moment. Is there any disadvantage to running the purple as a unassigned device? im not fussed about having the parity drive spinning 24/7 but not really keen on it constantly being written to as its going to shorten its life considerably given the constant stream of 2/3 1080p cameras hounding it. Essentially i just want to point the software in a win10 VM to record to that drive an access that drive from other machines. If the drive failed its not really a "problem" as any saved recordings will be transferred to the array.
  18. OK I have broken something so originally i plugged the WD Purple in and assigned it as a cache drive for a few moments then realised this is probably not right. Having now removed it and have it mounted with the app the SSD will not mount Im happy to loose the data on it so tried to format it and well...... Unmountable - Bound to btrfs pool What have i done and how do i fix this ? Apr 5 13:30:21 Tower emhttp: shcmd (384): set -o pipefail ; mkfs.btrfs -f -K -dsingle -msingle /dev/sde1 |& logger Apr 5 13:30:21 Tower root: ERROR: /dev/sde1 is mounted
  19. OK cheers, I was guessing if its part of the Parity array then it will get used for "everything" and all i want it for is recording the CCTV cams.
  20. Hi All I have just put a WD purple drive in (for my cctv cameras to record too) The VM for the CCTV will be on the SSD (cache drive) however i dont want any data on the CCTV drive just the recorded Video's from the software on the VM. Whats my best way of doing this? i want to be able to map the drive on other windows machines. and set the VM (on the ssd) to record to this drive letter. Should i set this up as another cache drive ? Just incase cache drive atm is a 128gb ssd just used for OS's of VM's and a few apps the drive i want for CCTV is 2tb WD Purple. Its not essential if this drive fails and i loose the data so do not need any raid on this drive.
  21. But tbh it works fine as a backup, all its doing is literally backing up about 1tb of important docs and photos, its got 4tb space. I dont backup media as its not "that" important if for some reason the server decided to explode etc Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. No just an N54L backing up important data Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Ok so no 6/8 core cpus avaliable then i guess a mobo and socket change would be needed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
