My current setup is an HP ML 10 v2 Server which I have run out of space (for more discs) and the cpu seems to be struggling to keep up as of late. I'm running
Sabnzbd
Radarr
Lidarr
Sonarr
Plex
DuckDns
Prowlarr
Deluge
and a Home Assistant VM
I have a R730xd in mind with these specs:
PROCESSOR 2x Intel Xeon E5-2680 V3 - 2.5Ghz 12 Core
MEMORY 128GB DDR4
I'm seeing conflicting posts about what I need/don't need to run Unraid on this machine. Is it as simple as changing each drive to non-parity in iDracc, or is there more I need to do? Is there a better option for unraid and my situation, in the forum's opinion? I'm looking at the R730xd as I need more disc space and per labgopher this seems to be a solid choice. Any feedback is appreciated. Thank you.

I'm not sure why, but when I updated Home Assistant today, I didn't have an issue with the bluetooth adapter losing connection. I will update if I see the issue again.

Could you post diagnostics when the BT stops but before reboot?
Yes, I can when I get home.

I have a VM running Home assistant and whenever home assistant restarts due to software updates, it loses Bluetooth. I tried just restarting the VM, but I can only get Bluetooth back if I restart the whole instance of Unraid. Am I missing something? Thanks in advance for any help.

I have an HP ML10v2 and it's packed with 6 drives. Is there a way to add more drives in an external enclosure? Would something like this work? Or is there another option?
Thanks in Advance! -
using that guide I linked and reformatting the disk did the trick for me, thank you

I was having issues and I thought my SSD was bad, but turns out there was a bad cable, I deleted my docker image and restarted, as my docker image was also full. I'm adding dockers and everything is working except now I see my cache drive says "Unmountable: No file system", I'm not sure how to proceed, so I've attached my diagnostics, if some kind stranger could point me in a direction to start fixing it. Thanks in advance

I was finally able to get the array to stop. I wish I knew why. I reassigned my ssd to my cache drive. I'm going to start from scratch. Appreciate the help

I'm also seeing my SSD drive under assigned devices. If I go to settings/new config and under preserve current assignments, will that let me add the SSD to my set up as a cache drive? I've already deleted my docker image and that didn't help. I'm ok losing my docker settings and starting from scratch, I Just don't want to lose my data. Thanks in advance!

I just tried this, and it reboots and goes into parity check. I click the stop parity check, then click the stop array and it is doing the same thing. I'm not sure how to proceed. Looks like I might have to start over?

I'm trying to get my server back up and running again. I had an SSD for the cache and it started giving me errors and now my docker is full, and I can't seem to stop my array. It's been stuck on "array stopping•retry unmounting disk share(s)..." I'm not sure what to do. I've attached my diagnostics. Appreciate any help.

Anyone using the Deemix Docker and got the permissions fixed? I've tried adding Umask = 0000, but I'm not able to modify any file unless I run new permissions for it. Any help would be great

Try posting in the support thread for Deemix. I tend to suspect that this is one of Dockers that does not have a lot of users...
I will again, thank you.

anyone?

I am trying to troubleshoot a permission issue with the Deemix docker. When I download anything, i have to go to tools and set new permissions for my download share so I can delete, or manipulate any file downloaded with deemix. I set a umask variable to 000 and it used to work. I had a cache drive issue, and had to download and reinstall deemix. Now the umask variable isnt working. How can I see what is causing the issue?

i figured as much

any reason why I shouldn't use this Portable SSD for a cache drive? I was able to pick up three of them brand new for 15 each. Using one for my android tv box, still have two to use.

I was able to assign it as a cache drive, and see the format button, but again, it does nothing. Will be returning it. Thanks for helping out.

Yes, but if you were also getting errors with Windows it's likely a device problem.
I was finally able to reinstall the drive, and used the command above, I'm not seeing that it did anything though. I stopped the array, and I can see the drive in the unassigned devices, but the format button is still grayed out. Guessing this drive needs to be replaced. Smart report and new diagnostic are attached, not sure if they say anything new?

Can anyone help me with the permissions in Deemix? I had them set before, but can't seem to get them set again.

See if you can wipe it clean with:
blkdiscard /dev/nvme0n1
If command is successful try to format after that.
Thank you for this. I am at work, and took the drive out of my system to see if i could format in my windows machine, but I was getting errors about being misnamed or mismatched? I might be wrong about the error, as it was Friday evening, but when I looked at the device settings in windows, it said device was working properly, but the log showed something about not being matched or named. When I get home tonight, I will reinstall the drive and try this. Am I correct in that I just open the command prompt from the GUI and type that command?

this is all I get when I click the icon next to my cache drive:

best use for new unraid box and old drives

I just finished building a new unraid box. My old set up was an old HP ML10 v2 server with a 1 TB SSD as the cache drive and an 8 TB parity drive with 3 other 8 tb drives and 2 5 tb drives in the array. My new build will utilize all the hard drives, but I'm not sure about the SSD as I have 2 SN770 1 TB nvme drives in the new build. How can I maximize my build for the best performance. It's mainly a plex server with all the ARR's. I would also like to host a website for my family at some point too. Thank you in advance.
