  1. Well, I went through it and this seems to be 100% user error on my part. For anyone else that might make the same blunders, it was two-fold. On iOS under Settings -> Privacy -> Local Network, I had Minecraft disabled from searching the local network so it couldn't find the servers. In addition, it seems that if you have added the server under 'Servers' it will not show up under 'LAN Games' in the 'Friends' tab. Once I fixed both of those it showed up properly and works fine.
  2. Yeah, I mean access from the Minecraft game client. Specifically iOS on my iPhone. It doesn't show up at all, under Friends, nor under servers when I add it manually. I tried both of the ports listed here and neither work. 19132 is what's specified in my config. Could these two ports be causing an issue? Nothing else is running on this server with these ports BTW. I'm not even sure where the random 2nd port came from. [INFO] IPv4 supported, port: 19132 [INFO] IPv6 not supported [INFO] IPv4 supported, port: 59453
  3. I've been hesitating asking this question because I'm guessing that I'm missing something very easy. I set up this docker, I can start it up, connect to the Web UI. However, it doesn't seem to be listening on that port and I'm showing two ports in the logs. This is a vanilla install. I am able to get to others things on the same network with their ports, just not this docker. Edit: I should clarify that I cannot access this locally, I haven't even opened it up on the internet yet. Thanks for the help. 4. Thanks @trurl for the response. I have a couple of more questions if you wouldn't mind. Thanks. So, in your opinion, is redundancy even needed for this or does it make sense to leave it on one and just back it up? If I understand this correctly, it makes sense to set my 'appdata source' in CA Backup to be /mnt/user and then exclude everything but appdata and system. Flash I've always backed up manually. Is there a way to do it with the CA Backup plugin? BTW, I'm assuming by virt.img you mean libvirt.img in the system/libvirt directory, is that correct? This one I understand. However, how can I change my appdata, domains and system shares to be on the cache rather than where they are stored now and not lose anything? I can obviously manually move them but how would I tell unraid where they are now located? This is probably pretty easy but I can't wrap my head around this. Thanks again for the help.
  5. Hi, I'm sure this is a basic question but I need some help with best practices on how to do some things. I'm setting up a new unraid (and I'd like to make some changes on my other one) and I'd like to figure out some best practices. Currently I have an Unraid setup where I have all of my dockers on my cache drive (1TB SSD) and my configurations in /mnt/user/appdata. I was thinking the other day that if I lost my cache drive I would lose all of my dockers and be out of luck. What is everyone doing with regards to this? Just backing up the appdata folder with the plugin (CA Backup / Restore Appdata) and not worrying about it or is there some kind of way to put in another cache drive and some kind of redundancy? That question applies to both Unraids that I'm setting up. I also want to run some VM's on the new Unraid. Are people running them on their cache drives or somewhere else? I have two 1TB SSD's I was going to put in as the cache drives. Kind of the same question though. I can put the VM's on the cache drive but are people backing them up other places or running some kind of redundancy? Reading this I think the terminology I'm using is probably incorrect. Hopefully everyone can get the gist and offer some advice though. Thanks
  6. I must have just read 20 different threads and other than seeing that appdata should be located as Cache:Only I'm confused on the others. At first I had planned on using my 500gb SSD for a true cache drive but then I noticed that write speeds to the array are good enough for me so I'm planning on just using the cache drive for dockers and maybe VM's. 500GB is probably too big but I can tackle that later. Should domains, isos and system shares be Cache:Only? If yes or no then why? Since I haven't started using any containers or vm's on here yet I'd love to get this taken care of before i do anything that then requires rework. Thanks for the help and sorry for the most likely easy question.
  7. Thanks for the help. I'll keep that in mind about the root user. In all honesty, that's probably all I need to use anyways. Just habit of not logging in as root unless absolutely needed.
  8. Hey...Thanks for the reply. Maybe I'm just being thick or missing something obvious. Let me start over. I know how to adjust the bash profile, set up the terminal, add aliases, etc. That's not the problem. However, like you said, it needs to be redone at boot because the files get recreated every time. Are you saying that I can put the alias and PS1 settings directly in the go file and then when I log in it will be available? if so, fantastic, but how would I go about setting up different aliases for different users? I could see it getting set up as root, possibly, but other users would seem a stretch. Like I said, I know, just from typing this out that I'm missing something obvious. I'll keep looking around but I appreciate the help.
  9. Thanks.. Looking into the go file though it seems pretty sparse. 3 lines maybe. Are there any examples? I'm assuming the go file doesn't translate 1:1 to the profile. Thanks
  10. Hi, can someone point me in the right direction to add some bash aliases that will persist after reboots as well as change the existing ones there? I must be missing something obvious. Thanks Josh
  11. @ryan I'm not sure what's going on. I'm glad you're at least getting the good speeds. I just created a new folder of files on the unRaid and copied them to the Synology and I'm getting the same speeds as when I do from the Synology to the unRaid. I'm assuming that if I didn't enable the Cipers correctly for arcfour then I would be getting an error. Not sure why it's not working.
  12. ugggh.. Speeds initially up and then dropped down to 35. I would say no increase here for me.
