  1. I just got the preclear .25 update notice. Updated the plugin and it's working as expected now! Thanks.
  2. I'm on 6.2 also. For me preclear just says "starting" and remains there. No apparent CPU load either. My box has 4GB RAM. tower-diagnostics-20160925-1500.zip
  3. I just finished preclearing a 1TB disk with the previous version of preclear. Then, I updated Preclear to the .23a version. Now, I attempt to preclear a 2TB disk and all I get is a blank popup windows, and the status remains at "starting" Anyone experiencing the same? I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks!
  4. Adding another 2GB RAM to my unRaid box solved it. A big "Tip 'O The Hat" to you itimpi !
  5. Many thanks itimpi. I think I have the appropriate RAM here somewhere. I'll just try adding RAM and post back.
  6. The preclear plugin no longer works on my system and seems to terminate with Fork: Cannot Allocate Memory. I have used the plugin successfully in the past. Can someone please give me a clue? I just upgraded to unRaid 6.2 and my system has 2GB RAM. Many thanks!
  7. A huge Tip 'O The Hat to you jomp and to everyone who replied! Upgrading to V6.1.9 seems to have restored it all. Web GUI now accessible, disks mounted and parity check running. Thanks again for all the help.
  8. Go to the Plugins page - you will see one for the unRAID OS. Press the Check for Updates button and that should give you the option to upgrade unRAID. But I can't get to the unRAID GUI, that's my whole problem. I can Telnet in however and I can also pull the USB from the box if I need to. The reason for this thread is that I can not access the Web GUI.
  9. I'm feeling kind of foolish here, but I can't seem to find instructions on upgrading from older V6 (6.1.7) to newest stable V6 (6.1.9). I think I only copy over a couple of files, but need to be sure. Could you please point me to the docs? My setup is really stock with only the Pre_clear plugin as I recall. Many thanks.
  10. Thank you kizer. I'm pretty sure the NIC is up because I can Telnet into the box OK. This morning, I also pulled the USB and ran a chkdsk - all clean, no repairs necessary. I am willing to try any commands or diagnostics you can think of. I am also attaching a diagnostic from this morning if that is of any help. Thank's for the reply! tower-diagnostics-20160316-1005.zip
  11. Memtest has now run for over 8-hours with no errors. What might I try next to get this box back online? I now see that upon reboot, I do connect to the Array webpage initially. However, if I click any other selection such as "Dashboard", my browser disconnects and says: This site can’t be reached 192.168.2.236 refused to connect. ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED This is a really simple unRAiD box, no Plex or VM's, no Docker. Just a few shares for data storage. And it was running fine for months. I did not make any changes to the box before this problem. I do have a 2nd (spare) USB that I bought from Limetech with the server. Thanks for any suggestions.
  12. Thanks very much trurl. I just started a memtest and so far (25%), all good. I'll let it run though and post back.
  13. My V6 server has been running for months now and I have made no recent changes. Today, I cannot access the Web GUI and it reports: This site can’t be reached 192.168.2.236 refused to connect. ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED I am able to telnet in and tried a "Reboot". All I can see via SMB is Flash. I did run a Diagnostics from Telnet and have attached the zip file here. Can anyone please take a look and possibly suggest an action for me? I am a Linux infant, but can issue the commands I'm told to Thanks very much. tower-diagnostics-20160315-1627.zip
  14. Yes, parity drive is in the correct slot. It's the only 2TB drive on the system. Started the array, parity sync in progress. My files appear to be all there and accessible. I'm a happy camper. Thanks for helping me out Joe. Happy New Year!
  15. As always, thanks Joe! I hit a snag - I am unable to copy files off the old USB key. It's not even recognized by my PC. I had an older file copy of my USB, but copying that one over resulted in several "red" marked drives and an error about invalid expansion. I had apparently changed out some drives since the copy was made, and don't have a current backup. (lesson learned) So, I copied back the original "blank" config to the new USB key and again have all "blue" drives and button to start the array. Will I be OK doing this? Thanks again.
  16. The USB drive in my unRAID server has gone bad. Fortunately, I bought a spare when I purchased the server from Tom. The backup key boots the server and shows all my drives as blue. I have determined that there is a valid file system on the drives, so I guess it's OK to start the array. However, before I do - can anyone tell me which files I should copy over from the old USB. In the "config" folder are some files like "super.dat", "secrets.tdb", "smbpasswd" and "passwd". Also, the "shares" folder. Which of these do I copy to the new key? Thanks for any info.
  17. Wierd. ifconfig eth0 does not report an IP number. It shows the hardware address of the card - I assume that's the MAC addr. And it shows tx and rx packet numbers, etc, but NO IP. Could it possibly be that I have a hardware failure on the NIC? I have extra NIC here, but with all the current disk activity, I don't want to interrupt whatever it's doing. Should I wait for the disk activity to cease before shutting down again to replace the NIC? Thanks
  18. Today I started a raid rebuild (expansion) with a freshly pre-cleared disk. All was going normally. Sometime later, I noticed I could not browse to the web interface and no telnet or ping to the assigned server IP. I connected a monitor and keyboard to the server and did a powerdown. I powered the server back up and got the unRAID boot screen and eventually the root login prompt. All 14 disks have activity like they are continuing the rebuild (or something). Not being Linux educated, what can I do from the console to determine the status and troubleshoot this server? Thanks for any help.
  19. Now that you mention it Joe..... I used another system to preclear the disks. And it surely was a Gigabyte motherboard! Can I just go back and "re-preclear" the two offending disks on a non-Gigabyte motherboard system? This is a friends unRAID box with just too much data to back up. I'm not a Linux guy and frankly a little worried at this point. I really don't want to screw up.
  20. Thanks guys - looks like I have a lot of reading to do... The motherboard is an MSI P4 Neo3 unRAID version 4.4.2
  21. I just purchased (5) new WD 2-TB drives (WD20EARS-00MVWB0). My parity drive is a Hitachi 2-TB drive. I have begun replacing my existing (5) 640 Gig drives with the 2-TB WD drives - all the same model number (above). However, two of the drives cause unRAID to report: "Stopped. Disk in parity slot is not biggest." The drives look like they're reporting about 1,500 more bytes than the parity drive. All of the drives went through a "preclear_disk" and all (5) have jumper 7-8 installed. Does anyone know what is going on here, and how to resolve it?
  22. Good until 5/24 with promo code listed here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136514 Limit 5
  23. I'm tempted to spec-out the cost to construct an identical unit. Starting with that fierce red case: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811165181
  24. Sure looks like a turn-key unRAID box to me. What do you think? http://www.cinemarsolutions.com/hardware.mld4000.php
  25. Answering my own question: This was a result of USB key problem / corruption / failure. Thankfully, I was able to get a copy of my config folder off the bad key and put it on my backup key. Server works as expected again. Lesson learned - always make a backup of my current USB key.
