  1. I current have a Supermicro X8DTL-3F, with a GTX 1060, LSI 9210-8i, and HP SAS Expander. I have 15 HDD attached, with A few SSD attached to the onboard ports. With this setup, speed it pretty blah. I haven't really looked into it, but I'm afraid the SAS Expander may still have firmware limiting it to 3gbps. Even my SSDs are really slowed by the onboard ports, also 3gbps (with no ability to flash the onboard SAS) What started this is that I think both onboard NICS are becoming flaky because they both often drop to 100mb , no matter the CAT 6 cable I try. This is both connected to my dumb switch or to my edgerouter. So I was going to throw in a PCIE add-on card to hopefully fix that issue. The problem is, my GTX 1660 can only fit in the x16 slot and it covers the slot below it. The 8x slot has the LSI, the bottom PCIE has the SAS expander. I know I just need to upgrade all around. I've been eyeing some decent used Supermicro setups from the server store.com, but need to keep this closer to the $100 range for now. I can get a 24 port Adaptec 72405 for that price (of course I have to change all my cables because of the sff-8643 ports). My question is, will switching from the LSI in IT mode to the Adaptec in HBA mode cause me problems with my existing array? Other thought, which would be even cheaper, if it works, I believe the SAS expander only gets power from the PCIE slot, so could I find somewhere else to mount it in the case and perhaps use something similar to this to power it? (Just the 1x slot and power cable, not the other half) Then I have a free slot for the NIC adapter. Of course this doesn't help with my drive performance at all, but maybe while I have the expander pulled, I could see about the firmware upgrade for 6gbps. So yeah, TLDR is basically could I safely move my array from the LSI card to the Adaptec card? I think I read somewhere that the HBA mode isn't quite the same as IT mode, so unraid might not recognize the drives after attached to the Adaptec? OR could I get away with powering the expander card, not using the board slot, but something like the thing I linked above? Thanks everyone in advance!
  2. I see some red in that log, do those mean anything?
  3. I can't seem to get JDownloader to work. I get the xrdp screen and click OK, then just get a black screen. 4. Wow, I actually looked through the FAQ and didn't see that. I then looked again, after you told me it was there, and still didn't see it. I'm apparently having trouble reading today. Thank you both for your help, I have the drive rebuilding now.
  5. So I was organizing cables and doing a few other things with my server. I booted back up and one of the drives was disabled, showing a couple hundred errors. To me, it seems quite likely that it was just a cable not fully inserted, or perhaps I damaged one while messing with the case. Either way, I plugged the drive into a totally different cable and would like to test and then reintegrate the drive back into my array. Problem is that I have no idea how to do so.
  6. Not sure, never tried it. Does the myjdownloader interface work for those? MyjDownloader does do captcha. I used it with the android app and captchas come up on my phone for solving.
  7. Sure. Remove the /config path mapping from the template when you edit it. BUT you do NOT want to do this. One of the greatest advantages of LT's docker implementation is that appdata is stored OUTSIDE of the docker.img. This allows you to easily manipulate it, manually change configuration options, if the docker.img becomes corrupted to reinstall Plex with all of your databases, metadata, etc and be back up and running in 30seconds (after the download of plex is completed), etc etc etc Your problem is a combination of * The amount your writing to the cache drive * The frequency of mover running * The size of your cache drive * The Global Share Settings and Cache Drive Minimum Free Space * Probably have your /config mapped to /mnt/user/... instead of /mnt/cache/... OK, thank you. I will just alter my Cache drive minimum free space setting (can't do it right now because Mover is running). I did change my /config mapping to /mnt/cache/, thanks!
  8. When I originally setup the Plex Docker, it asked how big I wanted to make the drive. I set it to 40GB. Is there a way to have it use that space for it's database, etc, instead of just using the server's cache drive?
  9. I'm having an issue where my cache drive is filling up (from adding files to my unraid server) and then there is no room for Plex to transcode so it just doesn't play. I assume this is what's happening, because I run the Mover to clear the cache drive and then Plex works fine again. When I first setup the Docker, I gave it 40GB, because I figured that was enough for my Plex database plus room for transcoding. Does it not do it's "business" in that same space? Or did i not properly tell it to use that space when I set it up?
  10. I was wanting to try your jDownloader Docker. I was just wondering, will jDownloader update itself?
  11. Does the 'FS' show as ntfs? If not, it can't be mounted with UD. It doesn't show anything there. I guess it's possible I formatted it with something other than NTFS, though I swear that's what I did. I'll just have to pull the drive and put it in my Windows machine. Thank you for your reply!
  12. Is there a step I'm missing to be able to mount an internal NTFS drive, or is that not possible? The mount button for this drive is grayed out.
  13. Thanks for the advice Frank, I tried it in this machine and it gave the same error. I used a backup to replace the two image files and all is now well again. Guess something weird happened to it? Thanks again!
  14. Memtest came back fine. I was thinking that perhaps something on the flash got currupted? What are files that I could safely delete without loosing data? Or would anyone think it's possible to try a v5. upgrade? I know it doesn't sound like a good idea since it won't boot on 4.7. But it seems to me that something on the flash isn't right. :'(
  15. This error is coming up after it has already booted from the flash drive. It's loaded the .img files and is starting to boot linux. The BIOS is properly saving the information, I was in there to be sure the flash drive was still set as the boot device. I also put the flash drive in this Windows PC and ran a check, it reported it was working fine. I'm going to put it back in and run a memtest (The other option in the boot menu), just to be sure the RAM didn't die somehow.
  16. I had to power down my server because they were upgrading my utility power meter to a "smart" meter. I turned it off through the web interface (stop, then shutdown). NOTHING changed but, it now hangs on boot. Here's a picture of the screen output. What other info can I provide? my syslog doesn't seem like it's current, but I will provide that we well (I can't make one as it won't boot) EDIT: BTW, I didn't want to try upgrading to v5 because I currently have a missing drive (That's like the first thing it says not to do on the upgrade page). I had a drive fail and I'm waiting for a replacement. (Living dangerously, I know) But the server has been fine like this for a few days now. syslog.txt
  17. I'm not sure of what might have changed but the cache drive is now working? I've changed nothing so it's quite strange but I just wrote to a share and it wrote it to the cache drive.
  18. I've attached a current syslog, just did a fresh reboot. Also saved the old syslog in case this one didn't show needed info, if so I will post that one. I just did a screenshot of my Shares page. If that won't work for you I'll write it all out, just LMK. Space on the cache drive: Size: 488,386,552 Free: 488,338,800 syslog-11-22-2011-9-30-am.txt
  19. No, It spun up the drive when I accessed the Cache share but I was unable to write to it.
  20. using v4.7 Plus, not sure what other info is needed. I replaced the cache drive, which was working fine, for a smaller drive. Now it will not use the cache drive. All the shares are set to use it but it just sits there and all writes are parity writes. I've tried turning off the cache drive then turning back on. I tried setting the shares to not use the cache drive then back to use it. Still will not use the new cache drive. What can I do to make this work? Thanks in advance!
  21. Well I assumed that it rebuilt the drive's contents and then did a parity check. You assumed wrong. It only rebuilt the contents of the drive. It made NO attempt to read it. You should perform a NOCORRECT parity check. That way, if the drive was unable to be written correctly you would know it, but it would not clobber parity in an attempt to get it in sync with the drive that had a error when reading it. Joe L. Well, I guess I shouldn't say "assume" exactly. I'm fairly certain it did run a parity check after all of this because when I checked on the server after it's quoted ~10 hour job, it said this: {Check button} Check will start a Parity-Check. (Last checked on 6/6/2011 9:40:35 PM, finding 60 errors.)
  22. Well I assumed that it rebuilt the drive's contents and then did a parity check.
  23. OK, after about a 10 hour parity check/rebuild all drives are green again and it seems to be back to normal. Thanks for the info! I'm still not 100% on all the inner workings of the system so I was a little unsure of what I was doing and afraid to loose 1.5TB of data! Thank you!
  24. OK thank you for the info. I wasn't sure if that data would be rebuilt on that drive or not. And I suspected a bad SATA cable and replaced it with a new one before running the SMART test on the drive. So I'm hoping that it was just the cable. Thank you!
  25. I was having problems with my server which turned out to be a problem with the USB flash drive. The drive had a corrupt file on it which was, I believe, was causing it to be set as read-only. I put the flash drive in my windows system and ran a chkdsk. it found the secrets.tdb file to be corrupt (or possibly that sector of the drive). It was deleted and my array was again accessible via Samba. But before this problem started I had noticed I had a disk that was disabled (red). I had taken down the array and then ran a long SMART check on the drive and it came up fine. I also put it in my Windows system and used rfstool to mount it and read it in Windows. All the data was there and seemed intact. But I put the drive back into the server and started it up. And now I have the screen in the attached screengrab. it says "Disabled disk replaced." If I select: "Start will bring the array on-line, start Data-Rebuild, and then expand the file system (if possible). I'm sure I want to do this" am I going to loose the data on that drive? (which is almost 1.5TB of data) I believe I have the option that I could put it back in my Win7 machine and copy the data to the array if this will in fact erase my data. But if I don't have to go through that long process, that would be ideal. Thank you in advance!
