  1. I have been having this issue since moving to my new server and using a HBA card for the first time. Old Gne 8 micro I did not have this issue.

    I have a HP H2402084038591_UnraidHBAconfig.png.53051968d2d1614058936ae7b0afd516.png

it is on latest patch from HP and in the correct mode.

I have checked that nothing is being read via the FileActivity tool and nothing on my drives is being read when the disks spin back up. I have also shut down dockers running etc and removed the Fan speed change add on that people said was spinning up disks (not that it worked on my motherboard) ....

Is there any fix for this or any trouble shooting done by Unraid devs to help?  I see this mentioned on multiple threads on the forums but without an actual answer.

Well one person changed their HBA card and it stopped the spin ups. Not sure which card they went to but they had a HP card as well..... could it be card related?

    Any help appreciated.

Hi @malleyc Long time since you posted I know but hopefully you are still about...

Which HBA card did you change to please?

What make of power plug are you using to get the detail in your screen shot ?

    thanks

  3. Dragging this back up I am afraid.

I have been having this issue since moving servers.

Has anyone proved or disproved that there is an issue with HP HBA cards not staying spun down via Unraid?

I sometimes see one or two of the drives stay spun down longer than the others but eventually they all come spinning back to life.

I have checked the File Activity add on and nothing is happening on my server disk wise.

I have 4 SATA and one SAS connected to my HP H240 card.

Even the SAS drive does not stay spun down via the SAS spin down add on. It spins down find but also gets reactivated like the SATA ....but does tend to stay spun down longer than the SATAs.

I am hoping I don't have to get a new HBA card to fix this issue. With the cost of electricity now having these drives spun down will save me a few bob over the year.

    Any help appreciated.
