  1. It was on. I started up Plex this morning and the same "streams" showed up in Active Streams. I turned off the generate thumbnails option in the "movies" media library, but no change was made to those lines in active streams. Even after halting they came right back. This also wouldn't explain why the one movie stream would show up, or why the crazy changing set of IP's as the User.
  2. Is there any explanation for this, or what would you think? I glanced at my unRAID Main page and catch this: The server has only been up less than a week and that is a high read count. I tried to spin down the drive and it wouldn't let me. So I went to he active streams tool. Among a sea of Plex related items none of which were directly related to movies was a single movie file. Without first thinking to first do research I halted it. Plex would then let me spin down the drive, so there was something going on with that movie file. Now this was a fairly obscure thriller and there is only limited permission granted for others to watch my Plex, only two. I would be shocked if any of them were watching this movie at this hour. If this had been a legitimate Plex remote viewing, then the app would have simply re-started the movie, or at least attempted to, and it didn't. It just quit. However, after 15 minutes or so the drive spun back up. Active streams does not show that movie running again but it still show the other "sutff" I did snip the active streams window and that is attached. Everything on there has a user IP of 45.79.210.23. Checking into that address it looks to be owned by a company called Linode, LLC who is a cloud hosting provider. So then I halted everything. All it took was halting the top of the list and everything went away. Some 15 seconds later it all restarts. the host IP address rotates in front of my eyes through about 5 different addresses before settling on the same address I did a snipit of one of them, also attached having 54.48.156.83 which appears to be connected to Amazon Data services Ireland. At the moment all drives are spun down and all that looks like it's connected to the actual database (cache drive). So is it possible for someone to hack Plex mask their IP address, and have it not show up in the Plex app? Is someone stealing my movies? It almost looks like someone is mining my library for the movie locations and taking them directly without going through plex. Is there some way to figure out what port this is coming in on and blocking it? OK.. just now. 4 drives are spun up, Here is my 3rd active streams snipit and the same movie is streaming again. EDIT: During none of the above, did the Plex GUI every show anything being streamed. I just killed Plex and it all went away. Help Please! I also did a diagnostics download. It looks like the syslog cuts off 4 days ago. I tried to view the syslog from the main page but nothing ever appears in the window. todd-svr-diagnostics-20170718-0239.zip
  3. OK the mounting problem was resolved by changing the UUID of the drive. My UD issue in this story is resolved. Great tool BTW. This is my first experience with it and without a doubt not my last. Thanks for the work in creating and updating it (to all in the effort)!
  4. This drive was in my array and is now temporarily replaced by an older HDD until I can decide if this SSD is bad or not. I would consider a preclear and restart save one issue. As luck would turn out 2 days before this drive redballed, my monthly parity check showed 5 errors, and that has only happened once in the past. It was non-correcting and I have no idea what the source of the errors was. I have another thread going to work on the bigger issue of the redball drive and only posted here over the specific issue with UD not mounting the drive. Of course I welcome any comments that would be helpful. On that side he has said I need to create a new UUID for the SDD because the replaced drive has the same UUID. I'll let you know if that lets it mount. https://forums.lime-technology.com/topic/58549-red-ball-x-issue-please-help/

This drive red-balled (x'd) a few days ago and my use of UD is about checking out the data that is on the drive. It appeared that the drive was OK, but not so sure now. I assigned an older drive for that slot in the array to check this one out. I have not attempted to re-mount it in the array since it went out. This is the first attempt Any thoughts?
  7. I just installed Unassigned Devices for the first time. I read about having to share a drive, not just mount it, and I think I've done it all correctly but the drive still doesn't show up either in the list of disk shares or by navigating to unRAID by my Win 10 explorer. Two screenshots attached. What am I missing? I've clicked the "mount" button. It crunches for a minute and then comes back with the + symbol below, but the mount button never disappears. Any help is appreciated.
  8. OK.. maybe I didn't read close enough... .... deserved that .....
  9. It's in their downloads section. See attached.
  10. I never have manually updated Plex. Just for my information, isn't there a way to install plex directly (without a docker) using the file you can download from Plex? If I understand you correctly, a Plex update will not be pushed via the docker, until the docker is updated, correct? and as to my previous question.. it now seems to have more or less, self healed.. (go figure). I went into the DVR setup and clicked on the "xxx available" link. This opens the window where you can click on/off individual channels. I think just hit "save" (not cancel) after making no changes. This forced another Program Guide update and this time it worked.
  11. Just checked, firmware is current. So Plex was off all night while I was upgrading ad rive. Today, the channels appear in the DVR setup (unlike last night), and the programing download took MUCH longer (unlike last night but more like it typically takes), but the actual contents of the guide are still very limited (just like last night). Something changed all on it's own. No firmware update, no Plex update... but it's still not solved. I also note there is an update available in the Plex Docker, but not shown in Plex server settings where it usually tells you if there is a Plex update available. Can someone clarify for me, the difference between an update for the Plex Docker, vs an update for PMS that shows up in Plex?
  12. I am PMS user with PlexPass and use the HomeRUNHD DVR. Has anyone made the recent update who also uses the DVR? Since the last update, Plex no longer sees channels over 207 although over 400 are visible on the HDHomeRun. None of the HD channels are available so they dont show up in the guide. I was going to roll back one version but at least one person has now said that doesn't work. I'm not sure why an old version would no longer work either. Here is the start of a thread at the Plex Forums. Any thoughts are appreciated. https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/272615/plex-media-server-1-7-0-3840-45a6a85f4-exe-on-windows-7-dvr-beta-program-guide-incomplete#latest
  13. See the attached screen shot. Is it normal for two identical drives being pre-cleared at the same time to run at different speeds? I've been watching and the 2nd drive has been anywhere from 2 MB/s to 15 MB/s slower than the first. They were started within a minute of each other and it looks like the pre-read took 11 minutes longer for the 2nd drive. Also there are a lot more reads on the faster drive than the slower.
  14. Thanks. I've started 2 more cycles with the native script I'm not squeamish about entering new tech territory but not familiar with Linux or sed whatsoever. If I can find the directions, I'll go from there.
  15. Thanks I'll dig around and see what I can find. Odd that to started up the one time fine and now won't again. It actually looks like there are 3 scripts now of which I have two. Joe L. gfjardim bjp999 - ?? Is this the modded version of Joe L.'s? I don't have this one but see it made reference too at the top end of this thread. Is there any explanation of what the real differences are between those three? How they work or what is technically different about the process? Is any one more or less thorough than the others?
  16. I'm trying to pre-clear 3 drives (Using the Joe L. script) and this is the first time I've used this plug-in in quite a while. Yesterday when i first tried I could not get it to properly start the clear. The status hung on "starting". When you click on the "eye" icon, you get the below info. I highlighted the lines at the very top and bottom that stand out to me. I was about to post this question last night and decided to first try to copy over a fresh copy of the preclear_disk.sh file into the plugins directory again.. just in case something had gone wrong with it. That did the trick and everything started up fine. I have no idea what would have been wrong with the file but why argue with success right Today after the first cycle had completed the server locked up while trying to update Plex, and I had to do an ugly re-boot. Therefore the 2nd preclear process needed to start over again but I have run back into the same error. copying the file over did nothing to resolve it this time. Anyone with some insight into what the issue might be? **note after re-booting Plex updated fine and nothing is hanging any longer. I am running 6.3.3 and have the preclear plugin is current with no updates available. All info in my signature is current. Thanks.
  17. no idea tbh, what the heck is a dsf file?, is it some sort of playlist?. Its a high res audio file. Basically a single file from the DSD format (from an SACD). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Direct_Stream_Digital I've sort of solved this problem as I've found my BR player will play multi-channel flac and finds them OK from miniDLNA, so I can work with that setup. DSD or DSF is the native format from SACD and doesn't required the conversion (to flac or wav), but I can't detect an audible difference playing back the 88K flac from the original media. You can at 44K but not 88K. When I posted this question i was trying to use my Marantz 7702 to playback but it cant' read multi-channel flac or wav and was hoping DSD/DSF would work. Today i found it can't play a multi-channel DSF/DSD either so I went to the Pioneer for playback and it is working fine of multichannel flac. Thanks for being willing to look into it though.
  18. It apears MiniDLNA will not support sharing a .dsf file. Is this correct or am I missing something?
  19. yes for certain. x.x.x.xxxx-xxxxxxx Can it be manually updated with the file I've downloaded an be sure I won't lose my database / library? How else can i troubleshoot this? Thanks. If you remove the container and then add it again you should be able to look at the log for that docker and see whether or not it is downloading the correct version. Not vastly experienced with dockers. The only times i've removed plex is for a complete rebuild. Do I risk loosing the library, or when I re install will it pick right up where it is now? A few steps to make sure the right version goes back?
  20. yes for certain. x.x.x.xxxx-xxxxxxx Can it be manually updated with the file I've downloaded an be sure I won't lose my database / library? How else can i troubleshoot this? Thanks.
  21. Yes 99.9% certain I had that right. I will be home about 2:30 EST and will try again. I'll post here. Are PUDI and PGID important to this? What did i see about some plex pass setting needing to be changed or removed? it was much earlier in this tread and i couldnt' find anything that resembled a "plex pass settting" Can i use the file downloaded from the Plex website to update this install without blowing out my current settings and database?
  22. The question still remains, what do I need to change to get the DVR version to install. I have Plexpass, and I have changed the Version number to match the latest version number on the download available to us. Please see my original post a few above.. Thanks!
  23. Are you actually using the Linuxserver.io plex docker? yes, believe so. under my application it says by: linuxserver/plex:latest.......... even though I have changed the version from "latest"... The repository is linuxserver/plex
  24. I'm looking for some help to update my Plex server to the DVR version. I am a plex pass user, and I have the downloaded latest beta. I saw instructions here to use the numerical values out of the DVR version and enter those in the version variable on my docker. I made that change and while it said "completed successfully" to didn't actually download or update anything. my PUID is 99 PGID is 100 and those were set when i downloaded the docker from the community applications. I only changed the VERSION variable. I also saw a note to remove something that said a PlexPass variable of 1?? I don't see that one anywhere. Any help is appreciated.
  25. Understood, but with a gigabit network I should be able to stay in the 90-100 MB/sec range, correct?
