  1. Anyone know how to remedy this, I have tried to install openvpn on my main server but get this? strange though as it runs fine on my raspberry pi: Warning: This VPN may not connect in the future. The OpenVPN configuration file for 'client' contains these OpenVPN options: • 'ns-cert-type' was deprecated in OpenVPN 2.4 and removed in OpenVPN 2.5 • 'comp-lzo' was deprecated in OpenVPN 2.4 and has been or will be removed in a later version You should update the configuration so it can be used with modern versions of OpenVPN. Tunnelblick will use OpenVPN 2.4.7 - OpenSSL v1.0.2r to connect this configuration. However, you will not be able to connect to this VPN with future versions of Tunnelblick that do not include a version of OpenVPN that accepts the options.
  2. I have an R710 with 7 drives 6 in the hot swap bays and one SSD in an optical drive bay adapter still one more sata 2 plug on the motherboard just need to tap for power I did replace the Perc6i with an IT flashed card rig works very well bit noisy but you get used to it
  3. Too late as I see you cut your x8 riser slot but there is an optional x16 riser for the R710 don't think this would resolve your issues but just putting it out there for future reference https://www.google.com/aclk?sa=l&ai=DChcSEwjVvd7Hl-njAhXBnLMKHa1GCGcYABAtGgJxbg&sig=AOD64_2r497W1_SXNCcpsJbh-Y5_YLnfGg&ctype=5&q=&ved=0ahUKEwiLuNrHl-njAhWITd8KHVCBBCUQ2CkI0QI&adurl=
  4. To be quite honest if the list you provided is what you already have that's overkill so yes you are off and running with that setup no problems from what I see, I turned my pre-built I7 6700 into my unraid box and it's been rock solid I'm getting at least 8 streams on plex
  5. I personally use Binhex Plex Pass as I have a Plex Pass linuxserver.io is also a good choice both are heavily maintained and push updates
  6. Why the 3000 series? first gen Threadripper is an absolute bargain and no worries about PCIe lanes
  7. Look up peer to peer networking on google or better yet youtube its a simple setup I did it with 2 mellanox 10GbE cards and mapped the share with the new ip I created
  8. Anybody able to point me in the right direction? It does this with all 3 of my backups not sure it hurts anything seems to still back up but not sure where to even begin, I am backing up server 1 to server 2 both unRAID of course followed Space Invaders tute and works well with this exception Warnings: [ 2019-06-24 01:01:28 -04 - [Warning-Duplicati.Library.Main.Operation.FilelistProcessor-MissingRemoteHash]: remote file duplicati-b16810e3043994743b9cbfca8fd60fb80.dblock.zip.aes is listed as Verified with size 31588352 but should be 52343357, please verify the sha256 hash "9qdv2ibCNQ4Svb3BZmLyL0E8RNZRFO/8FMc9AwktFOc=", 2019-06-24 01:01:28 -04 - [Warning-
  9. Not a deal breaker by any means but I'm getting this at the left bottom of the page when I upgrade, when I revert it shows me disk location
  10. Up and running thank you for your hard work binhex in a sometimes thankless job!
  11. My 1U sounds like a jet all the time good luck trying to find a quiet version those little fans are crazy loud to the point I may unload the thing was hoping it was a good candidate for a pfsense box
  12. I can confirm that these will work I bought two from them and worked right outta the box no setup required
  13. Well I can tell you that the drive caddy conversion works on my R710 and my R410 so that issue should be covered I'm not familiar with the R520 but if you removed the perc6 controller how did you connect the backplane I removed my perc6 and installed an HBA flashed it to IT mode and all is good and if you go that route although I did not try it I have read that you cannot mount the HBA in the PCIe slot that the perc6 was in something along the lines of it being proprietary And a word of note my usb ports are sata 2 if that means anything to you not sure if the R520 is sata 2 or 3 not sure it will really make much of a difference in unRAID
  14. Funny thing I'm using a full sized (16GB) off brand (micro center) usb 3 mounted internally hanging from a cable and it has been flawless since I set up my server over a year ago do they do the silicon lottery thing with usb sticks if so I have a winner😂
  15. Ah went there and did not realize that it would show up only after shutting down, TY!
  16. So what happens when I run out of space I am currently running 14 containers and I'm at 74% can this be enlarged seems like a dumb question but I don't remember if I read about it anywhere
  17. Hi guys so I set up duplicati on my primary server and am backing up to a second server both unRAID of course and it works but I'm a little confused by the behaviour, the primary NAS shows the unassigned device path to my Backup share on the backup NAS but shows as being empty, the backup NAS disk 1 shows 2TB and disk 2 shows 300+GB disk one does not show any files but disk 2 does can someone point me to an explanation of this and while I got your ear is it really worth encrypting movie files just don't see an advantage or am I missing something? Hope I didn't confuse the crap outta ya! Primary NAS.png Backup NAS.png Empty backup.png
  18. I'd be interested in the thermals as an open bench does not seem to me to be ideal for passing large amounts of channeled air through that rig the AIO helps I guess
  19. As to duel parity I thought like you but in the end unless you have many disks or some questionable disks I went back to a single parity and gained the extra storage, you can always add it if you increase your capacity
  20. I have been using the store branded usb drives from micro center without issue they are internally mounted though as they are pretty big in size length wise I like that they are transparent to a degree where the activity LED is really easily seen coming up on a year on the original install Micro Center 16GB SuperSpeed USB 3.1 (Gen 1) Flash Drive @ $3.49
  21. Not positive but try in another slot I seem to remember either reading or watching a video where they won't work in the proprietary slot
  22. Here I just ran speed test here are the results top is my homeNAS cache built on an I7 6700 the bottom is my R710 cache both are on onboard sata ports:
  23. I can't speak to performance as I just set this up and have not tested but yes I installed an 2.5 conversion tray (Like $10 part) in my R710 and it works fine it's been awhile since I played with it but I think I remember that the sata ports are 3Gb and yes there are 2 one for the DVD and one un-populated for which I have not tested yet but surmise that you could put 2 SSD's in a raid cache you will need to go into the server settings and confirm the sata ports are configured but besides that its all good. Oh and there is no power source native for the additional port so you will need to be creative here
  24. Mine was just delivered last night first attempt to integrate with blue iris failed tried to flash it new firmware and that went through but could not connect to BI will keep working at it, will be interested to hear how you make out oh and as far as video quality i'm impressed with this little camera
