  1. I just set Plex back up in my environment after upgrading hardware and it is working fine just pointing the transcoding directory to /tmp. I think the key here is the amount of Memory you have available. From what I understand, Plex check to see if you have enough space in the /transcode directory to hold the entire file before play regardless if it is transcoding. So if your video file was 8GB, you need that much available in /tmp. I think the size of the /tmp location is defaulted to half of the the installed memory I originally had only 16 GB of ram in my old server and I could only transcode tv shows while almost almost all my movies failed when transcode was set to /tmp. I now have 96 GB of ram (48 available in /tmp) so it has not had a problem transcoding anything. So it's really dependent on your environment (dockers, vm's, memory installed) if it will work for you.
  2. I do know avahi was in previous versions, I just meant I never saw that user specifically listed in the passwd file. So I was just curious if 6.2 upgrade was suppsed to add it or something. It might have been my download being corrupted , but I was just trying to figure what I might have did wrong to have it missing now.
  3. Thanks John_M, you hit the nail on the head. My grep output returned no process running under the avahi user and my passwd file did not have the 2 users listed, so I just copied them from your output and added them, then rebooted. Everything runs super smooth now an dmy errors are gone. My grep output looks just like yours as well. I am a little confused though, do you know if this was just added for 6.2, because none of my previous config backups listed avahi as a user in the passwd file either and I didn't have this problem. Anyway, thanks for the help!
  4. I have upgraded to this release candidate (from 6.1.9) and I now have a sluggish/slow webui where page can take 20-30 seconds or more to load. I am seeing this error over and over again in the logs. Did I miss something in the upgrade steps (which I thought I followed)? I turned off docker and VM's, but it had no effect. The user shares work just fine as well, it's basically just the Web UI. I noticed someone posted the same issue in the RC2 thread but there was no response. I can usually resolve issues from other people posting, google, etc, but this has stumped me for the past 2 days. Any Ideas? darktower-diagnostics-20160805-2002.zip
  5. Not sure what I will use it for either, but it gives me something to play around with. Here is my referral link: http://chunkhost.com/r/Firefly
  6. You hit the nail on the head, by removing the plugins, it worked for me as well. I wonder if that's an issue with the plugins themselves or the plugin architecture. Either way, thanks!!!
  7. Ok, So I have been researching this for hours.. I felt comfortable enough to finally upgrade to 5.0 b12 from 4.7 after being comfortable with Unraid for the past few months. The first time I started Unraid with the newest files, everything went great, I followed the instructions with setting the permissions and set up some plugins (sab, couch, etc). However I decided to do a reboot and since then I cannot get my array to come out of the "starting..." status. It looks like everything is up though as I can access the shares. I even tried downgrading to 5.0b11 to see if that would help. In between reboots, I have to use the command line to shut down the array before I reboot since the webgui seems to think it is always starting. Someone else seemed to have a similar problem and they set their array auto start up option to no and then start it manually and it seemed to work for them sometimes. I tried all of that and I can't for the life of me to get it work. I even scoured the logs and I really can't see anything major (but then again I am still learning a lot). Is this a bug or is something wrong with my system? Thanks for any help you can give me. Syslog.txt
  8. Thanks Justin.. I just had this same issue and I restarted my array..voila, it worked.
