Updated Opencore to 0.5.8. Added the new apfs changes and made new changes from the difference.pdf and it all booted up OK. Happy updating.

Worked out the box. asmedia 3.0 controller on the motherboard. No kext needed. Its a type A and type C set of ports on my botherboard.

I've been using a onboard USB controller on my x370 board since I got it, passed through on all my VMs with a GPU. It's in its own group and is plug and play.

You are probably using the vmxnet3 for the Ethernet bridge, don't use that. Use e1000-82545em instead, make the change in your xml. vmxnet3 makes the upload real slow for whatever reason.

Are you only trying this with one core? Maybe give it 2 or 4..

Wouldn't deleting the topology line work as well? I mean it's a chip with only 4 cores 4 thread.

He has a 7600k that should boot without any cpu patches. Its a native supported cpu.

Try this for your host passthrough <qemu:arg value='host,vendor=GenuineIntel,+hypervisor,+invtsc,kvm=on,+fma,+avx,+avx2,+aes,+ssse3,+sse4_2,+popcnt,+sse4a,+bmi1,+bmi2'/>

Yea i think that your issue. I will building a real ryzen hackintosh in the next week with a 3600 for a friend and looking at your config.plist i see why it was so different from ours. What GPU are you using?

** Hackintosh ** Tips to make a bare metal MacOS
Oh damn sorry i though you meant for a VM. I looked at your config.plist way wrong then.

** Hackintosh ** Tips to make a bare metal MacOS
Post the xml for your VM so we can see that....Also are you trying to boot 10.15.4?

I have a 2700x and i don't use the amd patches at all. I just let the VM think its using Ivy Bridge. As far as your config.plist slim it down. You have a bunch drivers and kext you do not need. Take a look at @Leoyzen Git for a guide for how your EFI and config.plist should look. Read the opencore vanilla guide here it gives a lot of good info.

i have used them, yes they work. I went back to just spoofing Ivy bridge because GPU performance is just better that way,

Anyone took a look at this kext? https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/tired-of-low-geekbench-scores-use-radeonboost.2231366/ Plist inside is a lot like the AGPMInjector kext we have been using here?

Next thing for me is trying to get audio support in my the bootloader. I use a USB audio device for my sound so that may be a challenge.

@ghost82 I'm running opencore 0.5.7. I had the pointer in the corner as well then I added DefaultBackgroundColor in the NVRAM/ADD section. I must have skipped over this at some point. Already had the correct resources folders in my EFI. So it works well now just had to hit the enter button to get into Catalina. Big test for me will be how well it works during updates.

@ghost82 Does opencanopy not autoselect for you? For me it just sits on the Catalina volume but does not auto boot it up. I know it's early in it's development so maybe it's just how it works right now.

Damn thats weird. I always keep 2 versions of the same VM. One with VNC and one with a GPU attached using the same Vdisk and i can go back and forth.

ASUS ROG Zenith Extreme Alpha X399
Think he means this...Its in the flash device settings. I can only use Legacy mode myself. When using UEFI boot i can not get any GPU passthrough working. I have a 2700x and a x370 board.

I just updated and everything went well. I don't use the topology patch and using 0.5.7. I did see this this on reddit, so it may help with the patch.
