  1. Ah Gotcha, That will be what this is then.. almost thought for a sec that it was actual content for something until I read it;
  2. I'm getting an odd issue where I can't view any of the Bug Reports / Pre-release threads for the the RC releases. While logged in, I try to view; But I get an error message like this; This is only while logged in, if I log out from this error screen, I remain on the thread but I am able to view and navigate through it without a problem.
  3. Would you never want to be notified of genuine short outages or just alert if they last longer than a set period? Perhaps if there was a weekly / monthly digest of un-alerted notifications? EDIT: I suppose if you have Grafana in play, you could use its reporting services?
  4. Got myself a coffe mug for the growing collection of beverage receptacles today. :)
  5. I'm able to open it in WinRar if I can get you a particular file or two from it? tower-diagnostics-20190303-2252.zip
  6. I'm going to comment to follow this one as I've seen very similar behavior in my own file transfers, again, over a Gigabit ethernet on a run of only 10 feet. Although I think I've read somewhere that RAM / spare RAM on the receiving end having something to do with it.
  7. I've got a replacement disk ready to go - should I just be able to shutdown, pull the bad disk, add the new and assign it to parity?
  8. The contents of the array. They get backed up weekly, but the last back ran on Monday. There's 5TB of data that's gone in/changed since then so I want to copy it off locally "just in case" Diagnostics below; tabris-diagnostics-20190118-1948.zip
  9. Hi all, Hoping someone can tell me what's going on here, within the space of 17 hours, my parity disk went from having just passed an array health check to reported as missing - Parity disk in error state (disk missing) I'm trying to recover the files off to a local backup drive through Binhex Krusader and onto an external drive mounted with unassigned devices, but the copy process is painfully slow ~18-22KiB/s reported in krusader. The CPU usage on half to all cores (only a 4 core machine) is basically pinned to 100% all the time, but I can't tell why, the unraid UI is mostly responsive except for the unassigned devices section which never moves on from "Please wait, retrieving information". At first I thought it was because while the copy was in progress the parity disk was spitting out read errors all over the place, but I stopped the array, unassigned the parity disk, started the array again unprotected and it's still extremely slow. The bad drive is still attached to the machine, just unmounted under unassigned devices. I have a replacement disk ready to install, but I'm not sure if I can just go in, pull out the bad drive, stick the new disk in, assign it to parity and let it rebuild. There are data backups but I do want what I can get off it now, only 5TB. What's my best course of action here? I've left the file copy run for the last 2 days and it's only at 4% of 5TB... so waiting for it to finish isn't really an option. Is the fact that the bad disk is still in there causing the system to crawl? Thanks in advance,
  10. When configuring a proxy host, it does have an option to enable blocking common exploits, but I haven't found any documentation for what this entails.
  11. This docker allows you to create user access lists and assign them to specific proxy hosts. From the main dashboard, click Access Lists in the menu. Create a new list and specify a username and password (up to five distinct users). Once created, go to the proxy host you want to secure, click edit to open the modal and at the bottom of the modal, select your access list from the dropdown and save. From the help text:
  12. If you already have a web server hosting those files inside your network, then exactly where they are is fine, just point the reverse proxy at that server. If you don't have a web server running already, there are plenty of web server docker containers in Community Applications that will fit your needs. I'd suggest getting familiar with how your web server is configured and making sure it's secure before giving the outside world access to it.
  13. Hi all, I'm aiming to rearrange some of my hardware resources and put them to different uses; My main PC I'll upgrade the RAM from 16GB to 32GB, add new storage drives, replace the failing drive etc.. and making it my new Unraid server (configured properly from the start this time!). The current Unraid server (old desktop kit) will be retired / parted out to other minor projects. Replacing my main PC with a low power small form factor machine. To give you an idea of what I've got going now - this is my main PC: And my current Unraid server: I wasn't 100% sure if I should transfer the CPU out the current unraid server into what will be the new one, but checking User Benchmarks (https://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Core-i5-4460-vs-Intel-Core-i5-2500K/2310vs619) the 2500K creeps ahead with a plus on my slight overclock so I'm just going to leave the current motherboard and CPU in place I think and just double the RAM. I'm really after someone to just sense check me to make sure I'm not missing something really basic or stupid, and if someone could also recommend a small machine for me to make my new daily driver. I don't PC game anymore (if I do game it's pottering around on the xbox), but support for two HDMI 1920x1080 monitors is a minimum (I build web apps for a living). Other than that, as long as it will run Visual Studio, SQL Server Management Studio and stream YouTube/Plex at full res I'm happy! I don't mind paying a couple of hundred for something decent but budget will stretch. Been looking at some Intel NUC's but I don't really know what I'm looking at. I have a plethora of 2.5" SSD's I can use so storage space, OS (w10 Ent.) and accessories aren't issues. I'll buy RAM as well if needed but again around the £300 mark is ideal for this one. Thanks guys!
  14. Absolutely, I agree - for the majority of users the basic Nginx container suits them fine. How easy (or hard) do you think it could be to write a plugin to sit within unraid to integrate with it? I might actually have a go if I can get some time.
  15. Without having paged through all 102 pages of this one, I do have a question. With this container acting as a proxy/gateway for all the configured services, are there any plans for (or does anyone think it might be worth having): An internal admin/control panel for the web server Ability to configure sites/services without needing to create config files or restart the container Ability to "switch off/on" a configured service within a control panel Some stat's on what services are being used (traffic by service over time, average response times etc..) I just think these could be really useful or am I wrong?
  16. RE point 2.. I had no idea that was a thing and I love you for pointing it out!
  17. Hi all, I've just upgraded to 6.6.0 and while the server is back online, I noticed it took an exceptionally longer than normal time to boot which prompted a dive into the syslog. The syslog is full of these repeating errors on boot; Sep 24 17:42:40 Tabris kernel: DMAR: [DMA Read] Request device [04:00.0] fault addr ca644000 [fault reason 06] PTE Read access is not set Sep 24 17:42:40 Tabris kernel: DMAR: DRHD: handling fault status reg 2 Sep 24 17:42:40 Tabris kernel: DMAR: [DMA Read] Request device [04:00.0] fault addr ca644000 [fault reason 06] PTE Read access is not set Sep 24 17:42:40 Tabris kernel: DMAR: DRHD: handling fault status reg 3 Looking at the device it's requesting, 04:00.0 - it looks like the onboard USB controller IOMMU group 15: [1106:3483] 04:00.0 USB controller: VIA Technologies, Inc. VL805 USB 3.0 Host Controller (rev 01) Besides the the unraid flash disk, there are no other USB devices plugged into the system and there don't need to be. Anyway I can either resolve the problem or just disable this device so that my server boots in a reasonable time and doesn't clog up the syslog?
  18. Just as a matter of closure, I managed to achieve everything I wanted to (docker apps + windows server vm serving asp.net app). It's actually been quite fun discovering that the LetsEncrypt app is handling the SSL for me - IIS on the server only knows how to deal with HTTP but with this I get full SSL on my public sub.domain.com address. So I'm happy as a clam (until someone tells me I've done something critically foolish, which is bound to happen sooner or later!)
  19. Out of curiosity and inexperience. I eventually want to pass through a Windows VM running an ASP.NET application, but with the router forwarding all requests to the letsencrypt container I figured I should start there with something less complex first and work my way through. Also, what better web server are you referring to? The LetsEncrypt one?
  20. Hi all, I'm having a small problem trying to get reverse proxy working for specific containers. Following SpaceInvaderOne's YT video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I0lhZc25Sro) - I have Radarr, Sonarr & Heimdall working perfectly fine, but I'd like to pass through the chvb/docker-apache-php docker (named "apache"). Things I've done; I have a custom domain with subdomains CNAME'd to a no-ip ddns address (working) I have passed through all the required ports on my router (working) The LetsEncrypt container has my custom domain set and subdomains are listed (unraid, radarr, sonarr, heimdall, apache,) and it starts and successfully as per the video There wasn't a sample conf file in the LetsEncrypt container for the apache container, so I created one (apache.subdomain.conf) and copied the contents of the heimdall conf file into this file and changed: server_name apache.*; set $upstream_ApachePHP apache; proxy_pass https://$upstream_ApachePHP:8443; # Matches apache container host port 2 :8443, container port :443 Saved, and restarted the letsencrypt container. The problem I'm getting, is that while Radarr, Sonarr & Heimdall work perfectly, if I navigate to apache.mydomain.com I get a 502 Bad Gateway error from nginx. I also get the LetsEncrypt default web site when I try to access unraid.mydomain.com, which is fine as I don't need it, but I don't know why this works. If I change the apache.subdomain.conf file and only change set $upstream_ApachePHP apache; to set $upstream_ApachePHP heimdall; I get Heimdall and not apache (as I expected), so I don't know if this is an issue with the apache container or something else. If someone can help point me in the right direction that would be really great! Thanks
  21. Out of curiosity, and because I've done it twice myself.. You didn't leave "Dry run" still checked when you meant to actually "do" the planned transfer?
  22. Just sticking my two cents in here.. I don't think that there being occupied space is an issue or an unBalance issue. I have had this on every drive I use and I see the same values even before loading unBalance. 4TB -> 4.02GB used 3TB -> 3.04GB used etc.. I've been happily shifting stuff off disks, seeing that still there and reformatting the disk into encrypted XFS anyway (which still shows that space as used). My wildly uneducated guess is that it's just showing space occupied by the disk's file table as it seems to be relatively consistent based on the size of the disk
  23. Thank you! I've got it encrypting now. One last quick question, will I still have to shift any data from a drive to be encrypted off that drive first before changing the file system encryption from XFS to XFS encrypted? I'm assuming I should move the data off anyway, but I did wonder if inplace encryption was a thing now.
  24. Hi all, I'm in the process of encrypting all my drives, but I've become stuck. Following SpaceInvaderOne's video, I get as far as removing the drive assignments and re-assigning the drives. I left the one disk I want to reformat unassigned, and it shows in the unassigned devices list so far so good. Where I'm stuck is that the step to remove the partition is is not available to me, in the video, there is a red X to delete the partition - I can't see this. Any help here would be great! I'm using unRaid 6.5.3 The video -- 8min 3sec
  25. I know this is old, but a potential explanation for the solutions out there now is that they are simply screen-scraping. The login process is fairly simplistic using basic auth so it's not too much trouble to pull data from pages you know the structure of. I haven't personally looked at the DOM for unRaids web UI, but I'm willing to wager that if no official API exists, then this must be happening. My own take on the law of parsimony there.. I would still be very interested in an official API - I roll my own dashboard bringing together monitoring information from various restful web services and since moving to unraid, would like to continue the same.
