  1. That's what I did. I've been exporting the syslogs to my desktop using win-syslog server running there. But I'll set it to export to the flash drive and see what comes up. log_1233317640.log
  2. My unRAID server just keeps randomly freezing up and rebooting. It started off happening 1 time. I just figured it was a power flicker and/or the UPS wigged out. Rebooted it and it was fine. About 3 weeks later I woke up to notice Plex wasn't responding so I tried to login and it had froze. Rebooted and it was fine. About 1 week later and it did it again. Now it's every 30 minutes to 1 hour. It'll come up and be fine every time with no clues as to what errors might be causing it. I haven't made any changes recently. The only error I get is a Machine Check that tells me my CPU (Ryzen 5800x) isn't supported and I need to download a different plugin? But when I look into it, I've seen my version of unRAID (latest stable) it is supported and that error really doesn't mean anything. Also I've been getting that error since I installed this over a year ago and it hasn't been a problem. Things I've tried: Exporting Syslogs to my desktop -No clues Stopping all Dockers and VM's -With all Dockers and VM's stopped it stayed on long enough for me to backup my dockers to my desktop but otherwise will froze and rebooted after about 1.5 hours. Safemode -Still freezes Disabled XMP Profile -No change Checked SSD scrubbing and balancing -No change I've exported my diags below. Maybe someone here smarter than me can make sense of what might be going on. I'm currently running a memtest but it's now 5am and I can't keep going. Gonna let it run till it's finished. I'm going to catch some sleep and I'll be back, so if I don't reply quickly that would be why. And thanks in advanced to any kind souls who wonder in here in an attempt to help! lodgecloset-diagnostics-20240414-0434.zip
  3. I'm trying to setup my Synology NAS to act as a Syslog server for my unRAID (and vice versa). Synology has an app for this but it's asking for the Log format. Does anyone know what format I should pick here?
  4. Look at eBay. I found 10 2tb SAS for $75 all brand new still sealed. Company was selling them because they were out of warranty. They apparently order in bulk and keep them on site for hot swap replacements. But once they hit end of warranty they basically trash em.
  5. Mostly just trying to see if this is possible. I want to setup a Windows Server 2016 VM and I'd like to direct pass 2 2TB drives and have one mirrored. I currently have an ESXi box running a single windows VM and I'm going to migrate all the data to the unRAID box as I'm about to move and sell my data center rack. So I'm wanting to compress all my servers to 1 box and sell off all my other servers. But I don't want my Windows VM to only be on one drive in case of drive failures. I'm going to give the windows server the entire drives. So hopefully 2TB's of storage on it. I have both drives formatted in unassigned devices and I can't figure out how to set this up. If someone can point me in the right direction or if you know how to do it and wanna setup a discord chat or something for guidance that'd be swell too.
  6. @SundarNET Idk if you'll see this but I just ordered a LOT of hard drives off eBay. 10 new HP server SAS 2TB drives. The drives are formatted into 520 block size because HP hates everyone but themselves. I couldn't get them to read but after a LOT of googling I found this users thread and his instructions helped a crap load. I have now added an extra 20TB of space to my shares. Thanks bud!
  7. As someone who just ordered a Supermicro 4U (My listing specifically mentions unRAID in the title though) How has your experience been so far? I'm thinking about swapping the motherboard is comes with one I have as a secondary gaming computer. Built it for the living room originally but low and behold no one uses it. The board in it has a dual socket xeon setup 12 cores. But I have an 1800x I can slap in it if I can see how difficult it is to put a standard mATX motherboard in it.
  8. I followed the guide through the unraid wiki... Still not sure what file you need. Also I went ahead and ordered a Supermicro 4u 24 bay server from ebay that specifically specified it was setup for unraid. So we'll see how that goes. For future reference how do I get the log I'll need in the future?
  9. Let me get a full diag. (attached) Sorry I'm a little flustered. I've been using those SATA controllers for years is it normal for unRAID to just drop support on some of them? syslog.txt
  10. I recently updated the unRAID server I have to 6.7.2 and now none of my disks are showing up except for an SSD that's plugged into the motherboard directly. (Used as a UD for VMs.) I'm not sure where to start troublshooting this. The only change I've made was updating my unRAID installation. I have about 7TB's of data I don't want to recover from backups. I've attached my system logs and it would be swell if someone could help me out. I'd like to note I use 2 of these for my disks. lodgecloset-syslog-20190803-2004.zip
  11. None of the data is irreplaceable. It'd just be a PITA to re-download all of it. I will definitely have notifications setup by the end of tonight. What I think I'm going to do it get a 5-6tb external and transfer everything over that I can as the shares are still up and functioning. The only data that should be on the dead disk is some steam cache content. Then just nuke and rebuild the whole thing from the ground up so I can set it up correctly this time. Unless yall have a better idea.
  12. I'm aware. I was replacing the worst drives first. I know my situation is dire. Really didn't expect a new drive to crap itself mid setup.
  13. The parity was next to be replaced since it's still passing SMART tests. Disk 6 is the new disk that is apparently a lemon and it only has roughly 5.5GB of data and I know what that data is and I'm ok losing it. The problem I'm having is that unRAID will not let me start the array without Disk6 since Disk2 is currently building. Idealy I'd like to just delete disk6 and then take the drive back to the store and replace it.
  14. Here's the Diag. Thanks for your assistance. lodgecloset-diagnostics-20180911-1016.zip
  15. I'm downloading the Diagnostics now. It'll probably take a while, but as for the connections it's a case with a back plane. I don't have to open it up to swap drives. The original drive is completely dead it was spun down and being emulated so putting it back wouldn't really do anything. I originally thought it was weird I had 2 failed drives in the same socket so I hooked the new one up to the motherboard directly outside the case and it still shows the same errors it did in the bad socket. So I don't think it's the socket. I'll post the diagnostics as soon as I can.
  16. So I got three 3TB Hard drives to replace some older and smaller drives in my unRAID. I put one in and had it added to the array and rebuilt it took roughly 20 hours. Everything was successful, 8 green dots! and all my shares protected. Cool! So I do the same process to replace another drive with another 3TB. Said it would take another 20 hours so I get it started then go to bed. Woke up went to work. Came home and then log into unRAID expecting to start the third and last drive but I had errors everywhere and the first 3TB is throwing SMART test failed and the expected build to completion is at this time sitting at 160 Days. With 1 drive being built in as the new one and another failing unRAID won't let me just pull the bad one and put in the other new one. I'm not sure what my options are. There's only 6GB of data on the bad one and it's running at 114KB/s for it's build. I'm not sure what my options are but I would like to swap out the bad drive for the other 3TB and go back to Microcenter and get a replacement drive but unRAID won't let me do that. Let me know if you need anymore information from me. I have remote access to my unRAID but not physical at this time. I can get whatever screen shots or logs you need.
  17. Awesome! Well man thanks for all your help! I'm already in bed so I'll mark this solved tomorrow. Thanks for bearing through typos. I only have 1 hand at the moment due to an injury. And it's off course my non dominate band that works. Lol
  18. So it's a simple as creating it to be bootable then copying and pasting? I thought you only got 1 flash drive transfer a year? (haven't used it yet. Wanna make sure I transfer to a decent one.)
  19. I have another flash I could use. Is it difficult to migrate without losing anything?
  20. OK I accidentally switched the switch on the flash drive. I'm no longer getting the lzma issue. But now it is saying " Kernel Panic not syncing VFS unable to mount root FS on unknown block 0,0" Im terrified of rebuilding my flash. I have a lot of stuff on here. And 3 servers tied to one of the shares. Edit: I Miss read that the first time. So I replaced all the bz files and I actually got it to boot but it look like there was a lot of Errors while it was booting. How would I go about checking to make sure there's no errors on the next boot?
  21. I am. It's the whole reason I had to shut it down. I'm putting in a replacement for a bad drive. However now I'm getting a lzma data is corrupt. Error...
  22. Ok so this error came up again however I was smart enough to pull the log before I shut down (gracefully). Any help would be nice. unRAID Log.txt
