  1. Greetings all, I currently have the problem that some of my HDDs get dropped from the array and are listed in unassigend devices. I thought it might be a SATA-cable problem at first and changed the cables of these HDDs, but the got dropped again. I attached the diagnostics and hope that you guys can shed some light on this. I'm rather scared that my server is dying on me😰 UPDATE: So I just checked my array devices list and the devices are still listed there but also in unassigned list? I attached two screenshots, in those the dropped disks are listed in the array devices list but also in the unassigned devices list with different device identifications (sdX). sirbear-diagnostics-20190912-0821.zip
  2. Hi all, I just set up my first VM in Unraid. It's a Debian VM and I'm now struggling to achieve the datashare between the VM and my Unraid shares. I did read that I can integrate the VM into my normal network and can than access the shares via network just like a normal PC. But isn't there a way that won't integrate my VM in my normal network? I would prefer a way where I can mount a share or a folder on a share directly in the VM and leave the VM itself in it's own network.
  3. Thanks for your help! I shutdown my server, plugged in the USB-stick into my PC and made a backup. After that I deleted the network.cfg. I now have only eth0 listed and everything is working fine. So my case here is closed.
  4. Just tried to change the eth2 to eth0, but even after stopping the array I don't have a section called Interface Rules in Network Settings. Fix Common Problems is now stating, that my DNS settings are borked (this happened since I disabled the onboard NICs).
  5. I disabled both my onboard NICs in UEFI and upon booting into unRaid it states that eth0 can not be found on the console. I'm able to access the webinterface with the eth2 (Intel NIC) though, but in the network settings there is still the eth0 listed. Should I worry about the eth0 not found message during bootup?
  6. I don't want to use the Realtek NICs anymore, but by disabling them in the BIOS won't I lock myself out of the webinterface entirely? And is there another way, because I would have to drag a screen and a keyboard to the server to change this in the BIOS.
  7. Hi all, due to dropped network connections with my Realtek Onboard NIC I decided to install a Intel NIC in my Unraid Server. I'm running Unraid 6.7.2. How can I switch Unraid from using the eth0 (onboard Realtek NIC) to eth2 (I have a second onboard Realtek NIC eth1)? The IP-adress should stay the same (192.168.178.30). I tried to boot up the server with the network cable attached to eth0 and then setting the IP for eth2 to "192.168.178.31". I then plugged the network cable in the eht2 NIC and tried to access the webconfig via 192.168.178.31, but's it's not responding.
  8. Thanks for looking over it, as stated above, I changed the SATA cable. Will look at this drive the next couple of days more carefully and if it acts up again I will post here. Thanks for the ultra fast help ❤️
  9. Thanks for the fast reply! I just checked the cables, couldn't find anything amiss but changed the SATA-cable just to be sure. Booted the server back up and got a dia before and after I started the array. The disk behaves fine right now and I for my noob knowledge the SMART-values don't look that bad. sirbear-diagnostics-20180522-2038_before_Array_start.zip sirbear-diagnostics-20180522-2039_after_Array_start.zip
  10. Greetings, today I received a notification that one of my disks has read errors (13). I wanted to investigate but looking at the smart values, but I can't spin up the drive. The disk log information: May 21 19:59:05 sirbear kernel: sd 9:0:0:0: [sdg] 7814037168 512-byte logical blocks: (4.00 TB/3.64 TiB) May 21 19:59:05 sirbear kernel: sd 9:0:0:0: [sdg] 4096-byte physical blocks May 21 19:59:05 sirbear kernel: sd 9:0:0:0: [sdg] Write Protect is off May 21 19:59:05 sirbear kernel: sd 9:0:0:0: [sdg] Mode Sense: 00 3a 00 00 May 21 19:59:05 sirbear kernel: sd 9:0:0:0: [sdg] Write cache: enabled, read cache: enabled, doesn't support DPO or FUA May 21 19:59:05 sirbear kernel: sdg: sdg1 May 21 19:59:05 sirbear kernel: sd 9:0:0:0: [sdg] Attached SCSI removable disk May 21 19:59:15 sirbear emhttpd: WDC_WD40EZRX-00SPEB0_WD-WCC4EPA9UX7P (sdg) 512 7814037168 May 21 19:59:15 sirbear kernel: mdcmd (6): import 5 sdg 64 3907018532 0 WDC_WD40EZRX-00SPEB0_WD-WCC4EPA9UX7P May 21 19:59:15 sirbear kernel: md: import disk5: (sdg) WDC_WD40EZRX-00SPEB0_WD-WCC4EPA9UX7P size: 3907018532 May 21 19:59:17 sirbear emhttpd: shcmd (33): /usr/local/sbin/set_ncq sdg 1 May 21 19:59:17 sirbear root: set_ncq: setting sdg queue_depth to 1 May 21 19:59:17 sirbear emhttpd: shcmd (34): echo 128 > /sys/block/sdg/queue/nr_requests May 21 20:01:17 sirbear emhttpd: shcmd (176): /usr/local/sbin/set_ncq sdg 1 May 21 20:01:17 sirbear emhttpd: shcmd (177): echo 128 > /sys/block/sdg/queue/nr_requests May 22 03:33:07 sirbear kernel: sd 9:0:0:0: [sdg] Stopping disk May 22 03:33:07 sirbear kernel: sd 9:0:0:0: [sdg] Start/Stop Unit failed: Result: hostbyte=0x04 driverbyte=0x00 The strange thing: the unRaid webGui shows the disk as spun up in the Main and Dashboard view, but when I click on the disk to get to the SMART values it says the disk must be spun up. I also attached my diagnostics, but the SMART for the disk sdg isn't present. sirbear-diagnostics-20180522-2006.zip
  11. Jukebox (playing the sound locally on the machine where airsonic is running) doesn't work for me. If I configure the jukebox player and start a song I get this error in the log: Error in jukebox: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: No line matching interface SourceDataLine supporting format PCM_SIGNED 44100.0 Hz, 16bit, stereo, 4 bytes/frame, big-endian is supported
  12. Is this on per default? So right after I update my server IP will be added to the LimeTech DNS? If so, any way to alter this to the local, self-signed cert right away and don't add it to the DNS?
  13. Is it possible to don't do this? I'm not a fan of that at all and I really don't need the ability to access my unRaid server across the internet.
  14. Hm, is the 6.4 already ready for a productive setup? unRaid is only used as my homeserver, but I don't really want to run an RC because stability is kinda necessary.
  15. Quick question regarding the release-schedule of unRaid: Will the fix once it's public a security update for 6.3.5 or only for the new 6.4 RC?
  16. Thanks for the info @Frank1940 I'm familiar with the console and already looked at the permissions. The group permissions weren't set properly. I used the Krusader Docker to copy my data to the shares. I now used chmod to change the permissions, was this the right move to do? Before that I used the Fix Common Problems Plugin (I started the extended test), but it didn't report any permission problems.
  17. Greetings all, my usershares with SMB-access are strangely read only. I already tried all the security levels and even with public I can't create a new folder with the client on the usershares. My client is a Linux Mint. Any help how I might solve this problem?
  18. Thanks for the answer Squid, the option you are referring to is set to yes. The min free space is set to 2GB.
  19. No one? It seems like the files on the cache which should get moved to a usershare are nowhere to be found just now. If I look at the used space on the cache the files should still be there, but they aren't. I just rebooted my machine, was this wrong because it got rid of the logs it seems.
  20. So without the forcing of the SMB-version I can see the shares, but I can't see the files that are currently on the cache-drive when accessing the share. My shares are setup to use the cache-drive (option set to "yes") and the mover works, it moves the data once a day to the array, but I thought that files copied to a share are buffered on the cache but showed as if they were already on the share. This is not the case for me, I see the files on the cache-disk itself, but not the according user-share.
  21. I thought doing stuff over SSH is not really recommended? So is this the right way to do it?
  22. Greetings, currently trying to get the postprocess of Sickbeard running but sab claims the sabToSickBeard.py is not executable. I checked with Krusader and yep, the executionflag is not set. I tried to set it with Krusader but it gets reseted after closing the permissions window. Any help please?
  23. Thanks! Worked like a charm and think this will be very useful in the future. Might need some clarification in the wiki that no data is touched.
  24. Thanks for the fast reply @johnnie.black What will happen to the data on the other disks in the array? The info-text and the wiki text aren't quite clear about that. I still have two other disks (disk1 and disk3) in the array, which are completely fine and I don't want to loose the data on them. Will I have to reconfigure everything regarding the array like usershares?
  25. Greetings, today I installed a new 8TB drive to replace to of my old ones which showed SMART errors. I also rewired another drive (3TB) because of this and noticed, that the power-cable was very loose, so I unplugged it and the plastic nose-piece surrounding the pins of the power-connector was broken. Oh well, another HDD that's "lost". The big bummer: I already added this 3TB drive to the array and copied data to it. I disconnected the drive and removed it from the server, added in the new 8TB one and booted up. unRaid claims rightfully that the 3TB drive (was Disk2 in the array) is missing and I therefore can't start the array up. I thought I could simply choose the new 8TB HDD in the array devices list and start up the array. Important note: I don't have any parity disk right now (those will come next year). unRaid simply states "Wrong" when I choose the 8TB. I'm aware that the data on the 3TB one is lost (if my fix with glueing the piece back on doesn't work for the short copy time), but how can I start back up the array? Thanks for the read/support.
