I hope I did not feed you poor information. You said "named files1, but all files for that user share are not necessarily on the ZFS pool." files1 is an exclusive share on a ZFS pool. Therefore (I believe) all of the files are on the ZFS pool. Correct? You said "Similar for /mnt/user/files4, a user share named files4 but all files for that user share are not necessarily on the array." This share was created using the GUI 'shares' tab, so I think all files will be on the array. (excluding a possible short stop on a cache). Correct? Thank you

Hello, I want to use the Unraid CLI (click the icon top right and login as root) to backup / copy some files. Most of the source files are located on a ZFS pool and I would like to make a copy using rsync (now and then) to the Unraid array. ZFS pool source: /mnt/user/files1 Backup target: /mnt/user/Backup/files2 Unraid Array source: /mnt/user/files4 Backup target: /mnt/user/Backup/files5 Is there any reason this is a bad idea? I just want a simple method to create another copy of some files. Next stage is offsite. Thank you

Hello, I am trying to move my appdata and system shares to a different (new & zfs) cache pool. I have watched the SpaceInvader video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vXF8au5o9Tw&t=308s System share will not move completely. I have stopped all of my dockers and virtual machines. I have gone to Unraid settings and stopped the docker and VM service. This should release the files and make them available to be moved. System share will not move. docker and libvirt seem to be causing the issue. I did read JorgeB said "Mover won't move files that already exist on destination." There appears to be old copies of libvirt.img and docker.img on disk2. The time stamp of the IMG files on the cache drive is updated when I start the two services. The goal is to move system share to the array, then move system share to a different pool device. Can I delete libvirt.img and docker.img on disk2 without data loss? Thank you

Hi I am running Plex in a VM on a Ubuntu server and my media is on my Unraid server. (I don't want a Plex docker) I am not getting 'stale file handle' errors sometimes. Is the recommended fix still this? No luck with that, but that command is interesting. 'docker ps' confirms the name of the docker image. 'docker kill --signal=SIGINT PlexMediaServer' had zero impact. 'docker kill PlexMediaServer' does not return. Control-C is required to get the command prompt back.

Hello I am using the plexinc/pms-docker and it is becoming unresponsive after about a day of uptime. I am not asking for Plex support. The Unraid GUI will not shutdown the docker. Unraid tries but is not successful. The last two times I shutdown Unraid using GUI or cmd line it did not go all the way down and I needed to power cycle the server. Required parity check when I boot. All I want to know ---> How do I KILL the Plex docker ? Thank you

Hello, I am using plexinc/pms-docker with Unraid 6.8.3 and it works. I have a "Music" share on my Unraid server that has read permissions for most users and WRITE permission for one user. I would like to know what access PLEX has to the Music share? Can PLEX write to the Music share? This website https://hub.docker.com/r/plexinc/pms-docker/ says that PLEX has a 'plex' user that is used within the container. I am not a docker or Plex expert. Thank you

My parity check speed has been: 01 Jan = 145 MB/s 0 error 01 Feb = 147 MB/s 0 error 01 Mar = 147 MB/s 1 error 01 Apr = 314 MB/s 0 error Double speed ! Did Unraid really increase the parity check speed (that much!) or do I have a problem? Thank you

Hi, OK, that seems reasonable. I put the USB drive back into the USB3 port. No OS. I put the USB drive into a different USB2 port and UnRaid booted with a valid license. A parity check started with the array start. I moved to a new USB drive 30 or so days ago. I believe we are permitted one USB drive move per year? Can I have my counter reset so I can move to a new USB drive in the near future? (I know, it could still be the motherboard or the USB drive. USB drives are cheaper to swap out.) Thank you

I didn't buy the USB drive used. It is a new drive I have owned for a year or so. I hardly ever used it. I put this USB drive into UnRaid service about 30 days ago. (Whatever day I recently downloaded a new license from UnRaid). It was working yesterday, then I shutdown, moved it to a USB2 port on the motherboard, and powered up. Error occurred. LimeTech support has requested a screenshot. I expect we will repair the issue soon.

That did not go well. I shutdown and moved the USB key to a USB 2 port. I booted up and now I get this message: Blacklisted USB Flash GUID This USB Flash boot device has been blacklisted.

Hello I have this message at the top of my screen: "System notifications are disabled. Click here to change notification settings." No "apps" are present on the "Dashboard" tab. On the "Main" tab, go to the folder icon for the USB boot drive, there are zero files and zero directories present. If you enable "System notifications" and click save, the "System notifications" are not enabled. UnRaid GUI shows the USB drive has lots of free space. This happened once about a month ago. I believe I rebooted (sorry I forgot) and the problem went away. I thought it was my USB drive (since it was very old). I swapped in a new USB drive. Diag file attached. What next? This part seems scary --> "reset the array disk configuration so that all disks appear as "New" disks, as if it were a fresh new server." You said "It won't do anything else". Your advice before was high quality. (but that "new disks" sounds a lot like "erased disks") We keep the data right? I don't see "retain all" on New Config screen. To be clear, I should do this: Go to Tools - New Config, Preserve current assignments All. Click "done" Return to "main" tab, Unassign the 2TB disk, then start the array to rebuild parity. Correct?
