[Support] Linuxserver.io - Transmission
I'm having an issue where every time I stop the Transmission docker it verifies all the torrents again when it restarts. It has over 2000 torrents seeding so it's taking a long time to complete every time. If I understand correctly when you stop a docker it gives the process inside 15 seconds to stop before killing it. I thought what was happening was that transmission couldn't get all the resume files finished before the process was killed. I then went into the Docker and gave the command to stop it transmission-remote -n 'username:password' --exit. It didn't have the desired effect. It seemed transmission stopped, but then restarted immediately and all of the torrents were verifying again. Should I try it again, but shut off the automatic start for the docker? Is there another way to accomplish what I'm after? I don't remember transmission behaving this way previously

Slow Parity Check with slow Disk?
Noticed a couple days ago that parity check was much slower than usual. I did some research and found out about the disk speed docker. I've run it a few times and it continually shows Disk 2 is much slower than the rest. I've run a SMART test on that disk and it tested OK. I looked through the logs and don't see any obvious errors that show me where the trouble is. Does this mean that disk is faulty or is there some other cause I'm unaware of? Disk is only a few weeks old so I'm wondering if I should be asking for replacement. I've attached images of the speed test as well as the SMART test and Diagnostics. One thing to note is that on one of the speed tests I did the graph jumped up at the end so it was the same speed as the other disks. However, when I ran the test again it was back down to the same speed. Also would rTorrent running at the same time I do the speed check affect the performance of the test? tower-smart-20220502-1421.zip tower-diagnostics-20220502-1539.zip

[PLUGIN] Disk Location
I may be daft, but is there a way to have a custom layout for disks. In my server I have a 5 3.5" hdd into 3 5.25" drive cage at the top. and then 8 hard drives stacked one on top of the other underneath that. Like so - | | | | | ---- ---- ---- ---- ---- ---- ---- ---- Would it be possible to do a layout like that or do I have to use the standard rows and columns

Issue connecting via remote access
I tried the above updates and it hasn't seemed to change anything. Still getting the same results. I waited about 20 minutes after doing the updates and reprovisioned the security certificate. I also checked the link provided for Remote Access on My Servers in DNS checker and it shows my IP Address so I think that part is OK I don't have any custom firewall or DNS server. I have an ASUS AC68 router. I have included my diagnostics below tower-diagnostics-20220427-1533.zip

Issue connecting via remote access
Hello I'm trying to connect with My Servers and am getting stuck I have configured it appropriately I think. When I took this screen shot it had DNS propagating, but that isn't showing up any longer. I checked the port and get a green check mark When I try to connect via remote access it won't connect and I get this error on the bottom of the page - DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN I checked the link on the My Servers page on DNS checker and got checkmarks all over the globe. I also did a DNS Lookup on that same page and it points to my IP, but it has a message there in small print - IP blocked by dnsbl.spfbl.net I'm not sure what my next steps are to get this

[Support] Linuxserver.io - Transmission
Edit - The below issues were with the nzbtomedia fork of this docker. I had previously tried this fork and wasn't able to connect to it. So today I tried again in case it was the nzb... fork that was the issue. After numerous attempts to connect to transmission using this docker I gave up and went back to the nzb... version. I'll have to figure the below issue out, but at least I can connect. I think this container may be broken as I tried to disable RPC. I removed whitelist. I edited the settings.json to set rpc to false and no matter what I did it wouldn't connect I have installed transmission and have migrated a bunch of torrents and data in that all seem to be working properly I have left the username and group ID as default (which I assume is nobody) I have mapped /downloads to /mnt/user/Downloads/Transmission Downloads (edit - I fixed this as I discovered that I had somehow changed to container variable to Downloads). I have made my own mapping in the docker for /share and it is /mnt/user which allows me to access all my media folders within transmission. I have got it seeding over 2000 torrents in various shares and that is all working well I'm having issues whenever I try to download anything new it saves it to the docker image. I have made sure all the folders and shares are owned by 'nobody'. I had SMB enabled and the various shares were set to secure. I didn't think that would cause the issue, but just in case I put them to public and that didn't fix it. I have tried downloading into /downloads and into /share/... and have had no luck so far I also have an rTorrent docker setup similarly and it has no problem downloading into whatever directory I set it to. So after checking things again I discovered that I had changed the path inside the docker to /Downloads. I changed it back to /downloads and it will now download to that folder. Now if I can get it downloading to /share Final Edit - I got it all working now. Turns out that all downloads were going to /downloads/incomplete and when that was set wrong all of my downloads were going to the docker image. Now that I have that fixed they all work properly and go to where I designate when finished downloading. For anybody having issues with this linuxservers version not letting them connect I recommend using the nzbtomedia version instead. From recent posts it seems there is some sort of glitch in this version that is making connections to the gui problematic, if not impossible

Backup Photos and Videos Folder from Synology to UnRAID
I am migrating from Synology to UnRAID. I previously had all my media stored on a large Synology NAS. I've now made an UnRAID server and have duplicated all my media there. After searching I really wasn't thrilled with any of the photo solutions available for UnRAID so I got myself a little 2 disk Synology to keep my photos and videos on. I also want to keep a duplicate of each folder on UnRAID as a backup and for Plex to be able to access them there. I've researched it a little and I read about using Hyperbackup and rsync, but it seems very complicated and not at all straight forward. Is there not a way to map the 2 folders from UnRAID onto the Synology or vice versa and just run a backup that way? I'd prefer to keep this simple as I'm basically a linux newb. I did try to map the 2 folders from UnRAID onto the Synology using CIFS, but I kept getting the message that UnRAID wasn't allowing it.

New UnRAID Server and 18 TB WD Disks won't show up
I remember reading something about that, but have never had to do that on any of my 8 TB drives. I just took one of the drives and plunked it into an an external hard drive cage and it works in that hooked up via usb to another computer. How would I know if that is the issue and if so how do I correct it? Edit - I found a Molex to SATA power adaptor cable and plugged them all in that way and now they all show up You are a life saver. Thank you!!!!

New UnRAID Server and 18 TB WD Disks won't show up
I am trying to start an UnRAID server. I am repurposing my old gaming computer with some added hard drives The hardware is an i7 9700kf CPU with an Asus TUF Gaming z370 motherboard. I also have an LSI 9211-8i P20 IT Mode HBA that I purchased off of Amazon I have 5 Hard Drives and 1 M2 SSD 500 GB. 1 of the hard drives is an 8TB WD with a white label that was removed from an EasyStore external hard drive. The other 4 are 18 TB WD Whites that were also removed from EasyStore external hard drives. The M2 SSD and the 8 TB WD hard drive show up in my BIOS and also in UnRAID. So far I can't get any of the 18 TB drives to show up. The motherboard has 6 SATA ports and I have hooked them up to the SATA ports and they didn't show up. I have also hooked them up through the HBA card with one of the SAS to SATA cables. I have tried changing the power cables to the hard drives to see if something was bad. So far I haven't been able to get any of the 18 TB drives to show up in the BIOS or in UnRAID. I have tried looking up if there is some sort of conflict between my motherboard and larger hard drives, but haven't found anything So far I am stumped and discouraged. I'm hoping somebody can help me sort this out.

Returning to UnRAID after failed first attempt
I am currently using a Synology 1821+ and am thinking of trying UnRAID again. The last time I tried I was following a guide about using used server hardware to make a powerful Plex server. I think I was using an older Xeon processor and and LSI SAS HBA card of some sort. I can't remember the exact specifics of the issues I had, but I recall frequent parity problems and issues with discs going off line. I did troubleshoot the problem for awhile, but my Linux skills were minimal and I got quickly frustrated. I think I then tried a Z390 Motherboard with a newer CPU and still had issues. My inclination was that it might have been the used LSI SAS HBA that was causing issues, but I had no way of knowing for sure. I do recall that I had to flash the card to get it to work with UnRAID and I did follow a tutorial I read online for that. At the time I was moving from an older Synology and thought I would having something much more flexible and powerful. I was using the Synology with an older Windows computer which did my downloading and Plex serving. After I was thoroughly frustrated with UnRAID I decided to switch back Synology along with my old Windows computer. I still think it would be nice to have one box that could do everything. The Synology is fairly new and I think I could sell it on the used market fairly easily Fast forward to today. I have a Windows PC I currently use for gaming that has a i7 9700k on a Z390 motherboard. I am planning to upgrade this fall when the new GPUs come out so am thinking of using this hardware for UnRAID. My initial thinking was I would avoid the LSI SAS card and just go for a simple PCI to SATA board. However recent reading I've done leads me to believe that these boards don't work well with UnRAID due to their Marvell controllers. I keep finding recommendations to go for one of the LSI boards Now I want to give this another go, but I don't want to get the same kind of frustrations again. I'm willing to give the LSI SAS card another go, but want to make sure I give myself the best chance for success. My current plan is to use my ASUS Z390 MB with the i7 9700k. I have a larger Rosewill case that still has an IcyDock 5 into 3 drive cage installed. (I believe I modified the fan to cool it better as well). I plan to get a few 14-18 TB drives depending what is on sale at BestBuy at the time and then move my 8 TB drives over from the Synology after the data is moved. I plan to have about 4 of the larger 14-18 TB drives and then 8 8 TB drives. I think I have room in my case for 12 drives as it currently sits. So my questions are what LSI adaptor card (or equivalent) should I get that will play nice with my hardware and will give me the best chance for success? Are there any other issues I should be aware of? Any general advice to set me up for success Edit - Just to make sure we are talking about the same thing I want to make sure that a card like this one on Amazon is what we are talking about NOT working well with UnRAID - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B098BHLVFH/ref=sspa_dk_detail_2?pd_rd_i=B09KFYQSXK&pd_rd_w=zgPAn&pf_rd_p=b9951ce4-3bd8-4b04-9123-0fda35d6155e&pd_rd_wg=ZUQc1&pf_rd_r=TM13QFC5FKXDSC41TXPY&pd_rd_r=aa765397-7902-42d1-92d7-4c491745079f&s=electronics&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUEySTVPNzlRVFZPSzY1JmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwMTQ4NTQ4MjRBMUFJTkE5NzFUNCZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwMDY1MDg2MzE4TU1RQ05PSFBQSCZ3aWRnZXROYW1lPXNwX2RldGFpbCZhY3Rpb249Y2xpY2tSZWRpcmVjdCZkb05vdExvZ0NsaWNrPXRydWU&th=1

[Support] activ- flexget
I’m wanting to add Flexget to improve the functionality of Transmission. I see the OP stated he is no longer supporting this. Does it still work? I am using linuxserver’s Transmission Docker if it makes a difference. If this one isn’t working any longer has someone found another one that does?

[DEPRECATED] Linuxserver.io - Rutorrent
Thank you so much for posting this!! I followed it as written and it worked first try. I hated having rutorrent exposed to the world. I'm not sure why the developers don't put in a password from the get go

[Support] binhex - rTorrentVPN
Is anybody running multiple instances of this or another ruTorrent container? I'm asking as I'm just setting up unRaid and I have about 4500 torrents currently. On my Synology I had issues with ruTorrent when I got to about 2000 torrents. So there I am using Transmission and ruTorrent, but I thought it might be nice if I could run 2 or 3 instances of rTorrent instead. I'd then have to have a few ruTorrents open. The server I'm building will have 2 Xeon processors and 16 GB of memory so should be able to handle it that way. I'm just wondering if it is easily doable if I alter the port numbers so there is no overlap.

[Support] Djoss - CrashPlan PRO (aka CrashPlan for Small Business)
I'll preface this question by apologising if it has already been asked before. I am just in the process of getting parts to build an UnRaid system and am researching the containers I will add once built. I currently have a Synology NAS and am running Crashplan Pro on a Windows machine via mapped shares. I have used dockers on the NAS and have done the mapping of different folders so that the docker can access them. Like this: /volume1/Downloads - /downloads /volume/TV Shows - /TV Shows etc... I didn't see this mentioned in the documentation for this docker. I only saw mappings for 2 different folders but no mention of needing mappings to all the folders that will need backing up. Is this just inferred or does this docker not need them. Thanks in advance for the help

[Support] Linuxserver.io - Plex Media Server
Can you explain what you did. Did you move any of the appdata? What instructions did you use? edit - Were these the instructions you used - I'm most interested in the watched/unwatched for the various users so if that can work then I'll give it a try https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/201370363-Move-an-Install-to-Another-System

[Support] Linuxserver.io - Plex Media Server
I have just ordered the parts to build an UnRaid Server and will be putting Plex on it. Currently I have a Synology 1513+ that isn't powerful enough to do Plex Transcoding so I am running Plex on my Windows 10 machine. I have a couple questions that I'd like to straighten out before I start my build so I can smoothly transitio I think there are a few different ways that Plex can be installed. I've read about at least 2 containers and then the download on the Plex site. How does one pick a version? What are the pros and cons? Why use a Docker vs just installing the server app? Is it possible to copy my Plex Media Server appdata folder on my Windows 10 computer over to my UnRaid server. I'm not sure as one is Windows and the other isn't so I'm not sure if the appdata is compatible or not

[Support] binhex - rTorrentVPN
I haven't read this whole thread, so I'll start by apologising if this has already been asked I'm going to be setting up an UnRaid server very soon and will be installing ruTorrent on it. I am currently using a Synology and am using the linuxserver version, but I don't like that it doesn't have a password for the webui and it also doesn't include autodlirssi I like this version, but I don't plan on using a VPN. Will this work ok without using a VPN? Will I notice any complications compared to the linuxserver version if I don't use a VPN. I'd like to decide which version to use
