  1. Would still like to get advice on my original post...though I appreciate the unrelated comments
  2. Because I was running out of room. Maybe I have it set up incorrectly and would love any advice you have to offer.
  3. crazytrain-diagnostics-20220418-1553.zip Getting a var/log is getting full (53% currently) error when running Fix Problems. Not sure exactly what to look for here and would appreciate some help from the community. Thanks in advance! CT
  4. So, I have resolved that my failed connection to the recovery server is not a network issue...so I am stuck. I guess I will wait for an update or sign up for Patreon to get some additional help from the masters. I have tried everything suggested, so thank you to everyone who offered suggestions. If anyone has additonal ideas for me to try or need additional logs, let me know as I am clearly willing to try whatever to get this working. Have a blessed day everyone!
  5. I have cleaned out everything, tried reinstalling with Catalina, with method 1 and 2 and still come to a point where I get the error "The recovery server could not be contacted" Beyond getting the recovery server can not be contacted error, I got a new one. Do I need to start the process over again I guess?
  6. Here are the errors I received from the installer log. (errors only)
  7. I found one and got one hit from it before being shut down. This was from osrecovery.apple.com
  8. Na, I was just asking for troubleshooting. I just blew everything away again and restarted the process and its showing source bridge as br0 <interface type='bridge'> <mac address='52:54:00:XX:XX:XX'/> <source bridge='br0'/> <target dev='vnet0'/> <model type='vmxnet3'/> <alias name='net0'/>
  9. Ok, after reviewing I need to correct myself. Referring to the video, at 9:19 (following all steps religiously) I get to this point and this is where it tells me it can not contact the recovery server. I dont any further than this. I think this is where the other person is getting stuck as well.
  10. Nor would I expect you to. LOL - I will comb back through the most current video to see what I missed. Thank you for pointing me in that direction.
  11. I understand, and thanks for clarifying that John_M. I was using that example as a troubleshooting opportunity to show no firewall blocking or anything. To answer your next question, I let my last install of Macinabox sit overnight, then ran the scripts as directed. I wasnt aware of having to edit the user script again...I dont recall seeing that in the video. I really appreciate you taking the time to assist, just not sure of the editing of the user script a second time.
  12. Would there be any value to pasting the XML of the VM here for you much more experienced folks to review? Maybe something is wrong that you will spot straight away...
  13. I thought the same at first but my Windows VM works just fine getting out to the net so I believe its something else.
  14. Avinyc is doing the exact same thing I am doing with the same errors. I have gone through and completely cleared everything before trying new suggestions such as Method 1 or 2, etc...still get to the install and get the recovery server can not be contacted error. Thanks in advance for your help everyone! Really want to get this working.
  15. I have had the same issues, everything works as the video states until its time to install Catalina. I have even tried adding that NIC, and still can not contact the recovery server error pops up.
  16. I have cleaned out everything, tried reinstalling with Catalina, with method 1 and 2 and still come to a point where I get the error "The recovery server could not be contacted" Is this some XML or something I am missing because this really doesnt seem like it needs to be this difficult. I follow the video to the word, so I don't know what I am doing wrong. 17. Hey John, thanks for the reply. To answer, no my unraid server is a physical appliance. Every time I run through the process, I get the "can not connect to a recovery server" error message. I even checked the network utility and its not passing any traffic (no ping, traceroute, etc). I have a windows VM that works beautifully thanks to the instructions SpaceInvaderOne had in the video. I have wiped all the records built by Macinabox and retried...but it seems futile to chase the wrong MacOS issue until the connecting to recovery server issue is resolved. I appreciate any help folks, and thanks in advance.
  18. Trying to get Big Sir installed. Get the first stage where you erase and name the drive, but then when I go to install it states it can not connect to the recovery server. No traffic getting through VMXNET3, though I have a Windows VM that works just fine. Also, Catalina comes up when I try and install. Any ideas on each? Thanks in advance, love your stuff SpaceInvaderOne!
  19. I put a Mellonox 10 Gig card in my SuperMicro and it works like a champ tied to my DL380 G7 with a 2 port 10 Gig card. i have tried the virtio and VMXNET3 settings and Openfiler tells me no network. Looking for anyone who has got it working and what they used for 10 Gig. Thanks!
  20. I'd be curious if anyone has been able to get Openfiler on Unraid working with 10 Gig ethernet. In the XML on my Redhat VM (trying to see if RH had the VMXNET3 drivers) I have tried changing virtio to VMXNET3 to see if it would pick up my 10 Gig connection but tells me no network found each time. Anyone able to beat this thing yet or am I waiting for it to become a feature on UnRaid. Thanks in advance and please excuse my rookie-ness in UnRaid.
