As requested! Didn't know about that. Thanks. Hopefully this can provide some more info!

Also, what are your SMB security settings in UD settings?
I just checked these and enabled enhanced MacOS support.
This now allows me to access the Backups directory. The lost+found folder i'm not too worried about. It still has the no entry sign on it and won't let me in.

But this is precisely why I posted asking for help. To find out why I cannot access it like a regular share.

The is the contents of the disk. The 'lost+found' folder is probably lost files restored after a disk check.
yes I understand that, but why can’t I access it? I have several sub folders in the Backup one but can’t access them. What’s the no entry sign icon for?surely I should be able to access them via Finder?

Hi,
I have one 3Tb disk in Unassigned Devices. It has one partition that I have labelled "Local Backups". I have set it to be shared.
When I connect to it via Finder, the folders within show up as in the screenshot.
Why is this?
The disk is also shown in the second screenshot:
Thanks in advance,
Neil

Looks like a connection had failed. It was using a very dodgy cable. I've recabled things temporarily and will fully sort it out in a few days.
Just checking things are all working in the dashboard.
Thanks

It's an SSD. I'll go check it's connection.

I've juts stopped the array but the cache disk is not showing for me to choose from.
What could be going on?
-
Yes, I have a single cache drive.
Edit: It looks like the cache drive has vanished. Where's it gone?

Hi,
My Docker service is failing to start and it says some paths don't exist next to "Default appdata storage location:" - I've not changed anything apart from update the Unassigned Drives and My Servers plugins?
My diagnostics are attached.
Can someone help?
Thanks,
Neil

One quick Q:
When setting up a share to be used as a time machine disk. Does that share need to be mounted in MacOS before TM will see it as available or should it just show up?
-
Hi, Thanks for that.
Couldn't the two veto files lines just be added to Global?
-
@Kaj Many thanks for sharing your setup. I may try exactly this when my new MacBook Pro arrives in 2 weeks.
Just in aid of clarification, you have <ShareName>, is this a scenario where we change those to be our own share names or is that literally meant to be left as <ShareName> and effectively work for all other shares without explicitly specifying a name?

Hey @wildfire305 IT'S WORKING!!!!
I think the deletion of appdata did the trick!
Many thanks for your super rapid replies!

Ok, allocation mode confirmed to be read/write. Let me test delete and reinstall

Is your output allocation set to read/write?
Where do I check for this?

I'm using MacOS and have to use the optical drive in my Unraid server as it's the only optical drive in my house! Haha. Even if there was a version for MacOS, I don't have an optical drive able to be connected to it for it to use.

You could also try changing the output directory to something else. Or if you in a hurry the program "exact audio copy" is free and I think it works well. I use this docker over that though.
Every output directory i try seems to have the same issue.
I would use Exact Audio Copy but I don't have any VM's set up and it seems overkill to create one just for this.

The permissions for /mnt/user/Downloads are:
Quotedrwxrwxrwx 1 nobody users 37 Dec 13 18:04 Downloads/

Just tried adding it in this format:
--device=/dev/sr0:/dev/sr0 --device=/dev/sg6:/dev/sg6
but get the same chown error.
I really need to get this working. It used to work perfectly last time i tried it about a year or so ago.

The sr0 device also has an sgX number revealed by the command lsscsi -g. I have that added to mine, but I'm not sure it is necessary.
Ok, mine is showing as sg6. How would I update that extra parameters value to accomodate this?

Did you add srX and sgX for your disc drive? Lsscsi - g
srX is set as below but unsure what sgX is or what it should be set to.
--device=/dev/sr0:/dev/sr0

Hi,
Looks like one I made ages ago. It only had a couple of old files in. I will delete that share as I no longer need it, but have changed it to store on the Array. There was one small audio file in there.
