  1. My Crashplan subscription finally ran out and I've been trying to get Restic to work on Unraid, but I'm not sure what's the best way to do this. There is a docker image but I can't get it to work. So it seems like I have to install it on Unraid. I've never done this on Unraid so I hope someone can point me in the right direction. Should I install an Ubuntu VM and run Restic backup from there? Or is there a better way of doing this? My goal is to use Restic to backup to another server (NFS or SMB?) and to a cloud-based storage solution like Wasabi or Backblaze B2. Any help on how to go about doing this for someone who is not the most proficient with CLI is appreciated. Thanks!
  2. Thanks again bonienl. As I mentioned in the other thread, I tried that already but no luck.
  3. Thanks for the reply. I already did try that via both CLI and GUI. The only thing I can think of that could be a hindrance is that I have a Pi-Hole as a DNS server (ad blocking for the entire network). However, I can't find anything on the RPi that would cause an issue with the ERX. I'm stumped. Anyone else have suggestion(s)? Much appreciated!
  4. ah, good to know. thanks for the reply rl2664. i couldn't find an obvious guide for someone in my shoes.
  5. I'm a new user trying to setup an i5-6600k rig (previously setup as a Windows 10 work/gaming machine) as an unRAID-based machine running a Windows 10 VM (and eventually an Ubuntu VM). But I'm still confused as to how to actually do this (once I get past setup issues I'm still fumbling through). My question is a basic one on the mechanics of using the machine. So far I've started up Tower and had to use a laptop to log into the unRAID instance via a web browser. How do I get from here to using the i5 rig directly as a Windows 10 machine? Do I have to boot up the i5 rig as well as my laptop, log into Tower via a browser on the laptop to start a Windows 10 VM every time I want to use the Windows 10 VM? Is there a shortcut? e.g. I boot the Tower and it automatically starts up a VM of my choice as a default? What is the best/recommended practice people use in this situation? Thanks
  6. i have a simple network with an edgerouter-x forwarding DNS requests to a pi-hole (hosted on a raspberry pi). i edited the config on the er-x per unraid's recommendation on the settings -> identification page, but still get the DNS rebinding protection message. Has anyone with the same/similar network setup figured out how to solve this? i'm sure i'm just not seeing something obvious and would appreciate anyone explaining to me what i'm missing. thanks!
  7. understood. thanks for helping out a noob. much appreciated how quickly you replied. if i don't hear from anyone soon i'll start a new thread.
  8. thanks johnnie.black. i followed your instructions and i'm able to gain access again to the web GUI. folllow up question: i have a simple network with an edgerouter-x forwarding DNS requests to a pi-hole (hosted on a raspberry pi). i edited the config on the er-x per unraid's recommendation on the settings -> identification page, but still get the DNS rebinding protection message. 9. As the title says, I'm a new user of unRAID. I was following space invader one's video on setting up encryption on v6.4 and was unable to get the SSL certificate to work because of DNS rebinding protection (I have both a UBNT ER-X and am running Pi-Hole on a Raspberry Pi). In the course of researching how to fix the DNS rebinding I came across a forum post where it was suggested we turn off and on the SSL to figure out if it's a router issue. I did just that... I turned it Off then turned it On (instead of Auto) and now I can't access the web GUI. I am able to ssh in to the machine, but I'm unsure what I can do via command line to restore the SSL to Auto. Did I shoot myself in the foot here and now have to start again from scratch? Or is there a way of changing this? Thanks in advance for any guidance
