When I copy those exact alias lines and input them into my terminal, they work wonderfully. Is this a limitation of the file? Also, if anyone has any other ideas on how to have this be accomplished, I'm all ears.

Following my last post (new question/issue) I would love a sanity check. (old topic = https://forums.unraid.net/topic/193837-disk-read-errors/) I've read multiple posts and piecing them all together this is what I gather. I have 1 parity and 10 data drives. I had 2 data drives fail. I was not able to replace the drive one for one as I only had 1 parity. I next loaded one of the drives via the UD Plugin and recover the data off of that drive. The second drive failed to mount. So my sanity check starts here: I want to do the following: 1) start fresh (keep data) 2) add 2 total parity disks I also want to put data from a backup source to the whole array. Would the following steps do that? 1) new config 2) don't add a parity to this config 3) put old drives and new drives into the config (order doesn't matter?) 4) start array 5) add data from backup source to array once data is all copied over 6) stop array 7) add 2 disks in parity to config 8) sync parity to disk? Does any of this make sense?

apologies for the late reply. I was able to mount one of my drives and recover the info off it. the remaining drive is unmountable and at this point I'm calling that data lost. My next step that I found from another forum post https://forums.unraid.net/topic/189196-two-dead-drives-what-now/ is to do a new config, add my replacement drive and sync a new parity. Thank you for your help. I was able to recover the drive with the larger amount of data on it so I only lost 4 or so TB. Which is much better than 17.

So "xfs_repair -l /dev/md*" failed on both drives. Looks like I just lost 17TB of data☹️. I'm not even able to get unraid to emulate the drives to see what was on there and try to save anything. haunter-diagnostics-20250928-1604.zip

Okay, so over the past few days I have had to re-enable a disk with a full parity sync. I changed the drive out completely with a spare. Ran a parity sync and was running for 2 hours before it disables the disk again I swapped the physical disk in my hot swap bay with another drive Ran another parity sync and was good for ~30 minutes Shut down the server and reseated the sata cables Swapped an entire bay of drives from one hot swap case to another (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01BMJ1WD6) which meant new cables and all on all drives 2 DIFFERENT drives came back with read errors, not enough to disable the drives Turned off Docker and I don't use VMs shutdown the array and restarted in maintenance mode I ran a check file system on all of the drives and the two error drives came back with a dirty log detected shut down the array and then restarted the array normally and let the array sit for a few minutes shut down the array again and started it back in maintenance mode Dirty logs came back again. What else can I do to figure out what is going on? I do LOVE the fact that there is a "summary" of what is going on when you reboot or shutdown via https://docs.unraid.net/unraid-os/release-notes/7.0.0/#other-changes-3 but I would love the option to have it show the syslog output as well. it helps the ability to diagnose what is holding up a shutdown/reboot. Currently I have to ensure I have another unraid homepage opened up so I can click the syslog on that screen to see what is going on. Not having it enabled by default would be ideal because not everyone wants all of that, but the option would be nice. I get it wouldn't really work when it reboots to show the startup process but that would be cool if that could be an option as well.

would it be possible to add the ability to add more icons to be shown? maybe not by default, but an option for us to tick?
