  1. Agreed... You entirely missed the point of those messages... Read them again before you start accusing your fellow forum members of being disrespectful.
  2. Not really sure... It works for the serial connection.
  3. Actually there's no need, you can use screen. Screen /dev/ttyS0 9600 Will do it
  4. Agreed. I keep checking here for a post from speeding_ant, but not yet...
  5. Did you ever get this solved? I'm an all mac house and I need to get into a cisco router... My unraid is my only computer with a serial port.
  6. It has to be something a bit more then that my box has been up and array running for months... Accessed the GUI hundreds of times. I added a new disk (hot swappable) and ran the preclear_disks.sh -l and it showed all my drives. I have since rebooted (to run 5.0) and it is working now...
  7. Roger.. I'm not worried about it because I can easily tell which drive I want, but it seems like it was worth mentioning. My array is up, and I'm using 1.13. Any suggestions to how I could determine the cause? Where does preclear get is list of assigned drives?
  8. This may have already been mentioned.. but I can't seem to find it with the search.. Just got a new drive and went to pre clear it.. ran pre clear_disk.sh -l and it is showing ALL my disks, not just the unassigned ones. Is this a known issue or is there something wrong that might cause this?? Cheers, whiteatoms
  9. My Helios 910 Case has 3 SS-500's in it. One is the older style, and two are the new style. http://i.imgur.com/LFTOZ.jpg I have the exact same build. You need to fold down the tabs in the bays to make the SS-500's fit, but they do fit perfectly. I have 2 old and 1 new. The trays seems bit better in the old ones, but the back is a lot easier to work with in the new ones. I also upgraded the stock fans to something quieter.. I can't remember exactly what, but they are low RPM fans that are pretty quite. HDD's are around 28-30 deg c under normal operation. Highest I have seen is 40 during a parity check, but not regularly.
  10. Hi there.. just a note for this of you considering the SS-500's. They are pretty loud - not like yell over them loud, but 2 in a case, and the machine is as loud as my fridge. Thanks for Raj for recommending the Coolink SWiF2-801 as they make it damn close to silent. Cheers, whiteatom
  11. Just as an FYI to new builders.... The Corsair CX600 power supply is not a great unit, especially with a picky SuperMicro motherboard like the X9SCM-F. It will not work - the system tries to start for a half second then shuts down. Get the TX or a different brand - I have a SeaSonic on the way.
