  1. Hey, gab es hier eine Lösung? Ich habe seit heute den selben Fehler. unraid 6.12.4
  2. Reinstalling sometimes help if you configure the setting again but reinstalling using the same config files and hoping something would change is mostly not working out. What is with this? Did you get an error? What happened? $ sudo -u www-data php /var/www/nextcloud/occ user:resetpassword admin Enter a new password: Confirm the new password: Successfully reset password for admin maybe try a simpler password with less or no special character, you can change it later. I think I had a similar issue somewhen (not sure if it was Nextcloud User or mariadb user) and figured out some character didn’t work.
  3. I updated also month ago from NC20 to NC21 without any problem. Just to get it right, you followed the instructions of the first post of a thread which is 5 years old? This is a long time and many things have changed and improved. I made a backup of all files, configs and databases and made an inplace upgrade within the NC WebGUI. Logged in as admin and upgraded to the newest version without any issue. After this i ran the suggested commands from NC to fix some DB warnings and done. no console or anything else needed.
  4. Update: I changed the settings for "unRAID OS" to append rcu_nocbs=0-23 pcie_acs_override=downstream vfio-pci disable_idle_d3=1 initrd=/bzroot Because it is a Threadripper 1920x and has 24 Threads. And now it booted in GUI Mode. I don't know why this was affected by a missing key file, but it works now #fingerscrossed
  5. 1. thanks, didn't expect this to be different than a not started array. - safe mode GUI (no plugins) Booting ends up in a blinking courser in the upper left corner - safe mode (no GUI, no plugins) works 2. What is the difference between safe mode and normal mode without started array? But what do i have to check now? What is wrong? What is with these boot settings? "unRAID OS" append rcu_nocbs=0-11 pcie_acs_override=downstream vfio-pci disable_idle_d3=1 initrd=/bzroot compared with "unRAID OS Safe Mode (no plugins, no GUI)" append initrd=/bzroot unraidsafemode
  6. The support contacted me yesterday evening. They were confused because there appears to be 2 Plus keys now associated with my USB Drive. They send me a new license key file but got the same problem. Then i got a second new license key file but still the same problem. Attached the diagnostic files. sn-home01-diagnostics-20210616-2227.zip
  7. My Problem: I upgraded my hardware and no i am not able to boot completly. I cannot access the GUI nor from a network client neither from the connected display and get the message "unable to connect". The server is reachable via ping but i am not able to start it because the array is encrypted and i am not able to insert the passphrase. So what happend: I read many threads and was pretty optimistic that everthing will be fine after switching the hardware, but i was disabused... New hardware: - Case Inter-Tech 4416 with SAS Backplane - AsRock X399 Fatal1ty - Threadripper 1920x - 2x nvme ssd Reused hardware: - Ram - HDDs - SSDs - HBA Controller - GPUs Old hardware: - Ryzen 1600x - ASUS ROG Strix B450-F Gaming To test the new system before moving all my drives i used a trial unraid on a new usb drive. This worked fine so i prepaired everything and switched hardware. Booting worked so far but i ran into the issue that i was not able to access the GUI. I tried to copy a backup over the unraid usb drive but this didn't help. So i tried the other usb drive with the trial unraid and with this i was able to access the GUI, obviously i was not able to start the array because my config and the license was missing. So i tried to copy my config to the trial unraid but then i was also not able to access the GUI. I tried to copy so many different files or changed the config but nothing worked. Then i copied everything on a new stick and i was able to boot into GUI and was able to access the GUI from a network client. So i decided to mark my original unraid usb drive as dead and tried to swap the license to the new one. As soon as i did this and rebooted i was not able to access the GUI anymore. So i was really confused. I was wondering if my original unraid drive was really dead or not, so i deleted the "plus.key" file and hey... i was able to boot into GUI and was able to access it via web. ... WHAT???? This took me nearly the whole day to figure this out... So i am only able to access the GUI when there is no license but then i am not able to start the array... I contacted the support but they say it will take up to 3 workdays to get an answer. But i am not able to access my data at the moment. So any suggestions?
  8. I want to backup my nextcloud and found a good script but had to change some parts for docker. I already figured out how to set the maintenance mode and this works fine: docker exec --tty nextcloud sudo -u $webserverUser php $nextcloudDockerFileDir/occ maintenance:mode --off So the script works so far, but i want to improve it. But i was not able to figure out how i could check if the maintenance mode is on or off. I think this is because of the "--tty" but other options work less. Last week the backup worked fine but the maintenance mode was still on. So i want to make a check at the end to switch it off if it is still on or maybe send a message to check the maintenance mode. So how can i check the maintenance mode from outside the docker?
  9. Hey, i am also searching for a decent remote software to manage my local vms and unraid (ssh) and optional to assist my family (offsite). I wanted to go for guacamole but then saw there are also other remote tools. - meshcentral - remotly i like the idea to also manage offsite machines with my own remote server. So as far as i see guacamole and meshcentral are only local remote tools and remotly can also reach external devices? Does all the traffic go only through my server?
  10. Have you tried this? 1. open console on unraid or connect via ssh 2. Type „unraid-api restart“ 3. hit enter 4. refresh
  11. I think this is a missunderstanding. Appdata and flash drives are two different things. The application "Backup/Restore Appdata" is mainly responsible for backing up and restoring the appdata folder. It has the functionality to also backup the flash drive. The way you do it is more advanced then many other user who maybe not have a second server or a NAS or something. There is nothing wrong with the way you do it. Since the functionality to backup the flash drive is deprecated in "Backup/Restore Appdata" i don't know how long it will work that way. So you can switch to unraid.net application or write a small script that copies and zip the flash drive. The purpose of "Backup/Restore Appdata" is like the name implies to backup and restore the appdata folder not the flash drive. I don't know if this was already in the first version implememted or an update because the owner wants this in his applkication or was ask to implement it. So the app you are using for the flash backup is not supposed to do it. And because of excatly these questions and requierments new applications are writen. So if you don't like to split the backups into two different apps you are free to create your own app like "unraid system backup/restore/sync" to backup, restore and sync the backup all the system relevant files/folders and copy it to a differnt system.
  12. I don't understand that question. Do you write this in all application threads? There are 1120 applications in community applications. In the most cases i ask myself if i really need it and the answer is mostly no. So the app is not useful for me, but there was a usecase in first place that someone created this and it is used by users. So to answer your questions: Secure Remote Access I connect really often to my server and i am often in this forum so there is a usecase for me. Additionally i still have my browser shortcut. So depends on how you work or you want to work. Online Flash Backup Appdata Backup != (is not) flash Backup. i recently had an issue with my flash drive, first time since years but i was really happy i just installed this application a few days before, because the last backup of my flash drive was some days/weeks ago. Additionally in the appdata backup application you see this message: So it is not supported anymore in 6.9.x and the solution is this application. You can make a script to aumatically backup your flash drive (to a drifferent server or NAS otherwise you are not able to start your server if something went wrong with the flash drive). Real-time Monitoring To get to the dashboard you have to connect to your server via "Secure Remote Access" (See Point 1) It's good to have a first view. License Management Yes you can do it via the website but this way is way esier and faster. So i can totally understand why this was developed and for me it is a really useful application to be a bit more safe if something happens.
  13. Thank you. I got also some errors but this fixed them. But i am wondering why the generated flash backup is outdated (10.04.2021), i also used the command above and rebooted the server. This date is the date i setup my servers. The uptime for example is correct. The generated flash backup of my second server is up to date (03.05.2021). I figured out that the flash backup was for an unknown reason disabled. Case solved

  15. It's now running since 22 hours. If really the USB3.1 was the issue i don't know why it worked the years before, maybe something with the new BIOS. It's now in a USB2 port. I made an memtest just to be sure, but the test passed succesfully. I am back to the previous Mainboard firmware and made some changes to the ram. I used D.O.C.P. before and it worked fine, now i disabled it and set the speed to 2666 just to be safe. for everyone who wants to know what i have done since the beginning: - checked the flash drive with "chkdsk /r" on a windows device - copied the backup of the flash drive over the drive again - put the flash drive into different USB ports, in the end in an USB2 port - went back to the previous BIOS version and chenged the ram settings after testing it As mentioned erlier it is now running and i hope it is done. It is now running since 12+ days and i am happy that it didn't appear again.
  16. I tried this yesterday, but i am not sure why, the usb stick was not recognized by the motherboard so that i was not able to boot. I went back to the USB 3.1 Gen 1 port i used before, but server froze again over night. Now i switched to a different USB 3.1 Gen 1 port. Do you know why i should use USB2 port? Is it personal experiance or somehow tested? I will try the USB2 again, when it fails again. Update: After 20mins the system ran into a kernel panic. Now i switched to USB2 port.
  17. That's a bit strange. Sry, it is a german windows OS. The first message in windows told me there is something wrong, if i want to check and repair it. Possible cause: "The device was ejected before all files were written." But i skipped this and made a chkdsk (see below) But chkdsk /r found no errors: C:\windows\system32>chkdsk D: /r Der Typ des Dateisystems ist FAT32. It's now starting again, now i will wait if there will be any error again. Maybe switch the usb port. I am happy for suggestions how i could check it instead of waiting for it to fail
  18. yeah i have backups of the flash drive and the appdata folder. I am not worried about that, but the actual state about not working properly is frustrating to wait for it to fail... As i am writing here it stopped again, now i will check the flash drive.
  19. I have an issue that looks similar. Also not sure if it is a coincidence but this happend lately: I updated my BIOS Version and went to unraid 6.9.2 and had the issue that my system only kept up for some hours (between 3 and 12 hours). A tried several BIOS Settings regarding power settings, because i thought i missed something when i made the BIOS update. I had to reboot the server every time. One time all my docker container were also not accessible. I deleted the docker image and reinstalled them, then they worked fine again, but the freezes didn't stop. Maybe it is a coincidence but my config.php of nextcloud seems empty but it is still working properly (as long as the server is up and running...). I try now to get it back from one of my appdata backups, but still wondering why nextcloud is still working... - Edit: I tried to edit the folder "config" instead of the "config.php" in the folder config, so this is not an error Now i was able to see on the connected monitor some errors on different blocknrs: "FAT-fs (sda1): FAT read failed" "blk_update_request:I/O error, dev sda, sector .... op 0x0:(READ) flags 0x0 phys_seg 1 prio class 0" See attached screenshot. I got an actual backup of the flash drive but i am not sure if it is about to fail.
  20. Maybe the new video from spaceinvader one about the new feature "my server" of unraid.net could be interesting for you, if you want to have an actual backup of your flash drive.
  21. I tried the repair but it didn't help. First I tried "btrfs check --repair /dev/sdb1" but then I got the message: Then I tried "btrfs check --repair /dev/mapper/sdb1" and it started, but it seems not working well:
  22. Sounds bad. I thought I would be safe with raid 1, but obviously not in this case... Because I moved, my backup is not up to date. I would be able to restore 90-95% of the data from separate sources, but this will take much more time than trying to fix the filesystem, but I don’t know how. The other benefit of fixing the filesystem is that I exactly have the lost data where it was and don’t have to guess what I am missing in total. My plan is now to add a complete new cache drive and try to restore the data from different locations, meanwhile I will try to fix the filesystem of the old cache drives with the tips you mentioned. Is it possible to fix a broken filesystem on an encrypted drive? What are your suggestions for the future? i read that btrfs is not the best for this. i also have not found the optimal backup strategy. maybe there are also some suggestions.
  23. Hey, I noticed yesterday some issues with my docker container that they suddenly stopped because of "server error". I rebooted unraid and it looked fine. Now I couldn't connect to my docker again and realized my whole server was not reachable via ping. Also a connected monitor couldn't show me anything. So I had to switch it off and turned it on again. After that I was able to start unraid but my cache pool (2x 1TB SSD as raid 1 btrfs encrypted) showed up as "unmountable: no file system". So I searched through the forum and found some topics which looked helpful. I started with this: I just tried the first and second step. Then I stopped the array and removed one cache drive from the pool and startet the array again and tried to mount the disk via unassigned devices and the tips mentioned in the link above (step 1 and 2 only). But this also didn't help. Now I restarted again and I am not able to add the second cache drive back to the pool ... obviously. But the second cache drive doesn't show the encrypted logo nor the filesystem in unassigned devices. Now I am a bit nervous, because there are many files I need and I thought I would be safe with a raid 1. The drives are sdb and sdc. I really hope you can help me to access the data. diagnostics-20210304-0208.zip
  24. In my case the plex docker was gone, but the appdata folder was still there with all the data. i managed to reinstall the docker. Here is what i did: 1. Backup appdata\plex and renamed it to be safe (i also have backups from the last 7 days of appdata folder) 2. Installed the same plex app again and made the settings of the app again 3. Stopped the docker 4. Deleted the new plex folder and renamed the old one to "plex" again 5. Started the docker again Everthing was fine again. I don't know which the other docker was which is also gone, but i think i deleted it already. Maybe that's why there is no name on the docker id. But the Question remains: What happened?
