Is there a way to auto update containers with a shedule like auto update aplications plugin does?
-

I have installed it but I can't access to the webUI, any idea why?

Yes I think that may be outdated. as I didnt find it either. You should just need to start the service and z: drive will be mapped. I just run the virtiofs.exe for testing without a service.
I have installed WinFsp and the virtio win drivers from the ISO but when I run virtiofw.exe I don't see new drives or anything. Should it appear automatically?
Do you what could be the problem?

My network configuration is this one
This are the docker settings
Typical docker network configuration
Can anyone help me to understand why the dockers can not access to internet?
The only dockers working are the ones using br0
The VMs using br1 work fine. So is something that affects only to docker
Thanks in advance

Note that the next version of Unraid OS (currently 6.10.0-rc2) will be using samba 4.15 or higher as per these release notes:
Once it is out of RC status, I'll update the guide with the 4.15 flags to achieve the same hardening setup as above.
Unraid 6.10 is out, could you please update the hardening for samba 4.15?
Thanks

I have 3 x540 and a noctua fan in line they run "hot" but how can I see the real temperature from unraid?
The max power consumption according to specs is 19 watts but any idea what is the normal consumption when running at low speeds or idle?
It's possible to tune up any parameter to improve the consumption?

Cloudflare zero trust offers a free service for web gateway among many other security services related to zero trust.
https://developers.cloudflare.com/cloudflare-one/
To use the web gateway with http filtering you need to install WARP client on the endpoint (host). Any idea how to configure the whole unraid, host, dockers, vms, to use a proxy service (another host) that will have WARP installed and will route all the traffic to the cloudflare gateway? or at least individual pieces?

In order to support legacy devices using SMB2 and connecting to Unraid shares. the implementation of these security settings will have to be configurable. Because of the desire to get 6.10 released, it is being held up for now.
For the time being, you can put those settings with a [global] tag in smb-extra.conf.
right now it's like this, so it's wrong? Do you mean that I have to add [global] in my config?
like
[global]
server min protocol = SMB3_11
client ipc min protocol = SMB3_11
client signing = mandatory
server....

Security settings are planned for 6.10.
will this be included as the new default settings? or the settings will be visible from webui?

An option to group or auto group docker entries by category path, port, variable, label, device
An option to manually change the order
Any of them would do.
-
@limetechmaybe this setup of some of the settings should be the default or at least available in the webui

Since upgrading one of my servers to 6.10 rc3, my firewall has been reporting suspicious traffic to an IP address 52.40.54.163 in America, originating from my unraid server. Is this an IP address of a server managed by unraid? If so, why after this update is this traffic connecting to an IP address and not to a FQDN?
Just for curiosity what firewall do you have?

No. The message from FCP says invalid folder "cache" within /mnt
In your screenshot it shows "cache". You do not have a pool named "cache", so something is creating it. Look first at any docker apps (hit show more settings) for something that has a path mapping directly referencing /mnt/cache Fix that and reboot and then see what FCP says again
I am getting again similar errors

I have no docker using appdata, in fact appdata doesn't exist, but this looks like related with samba, any ideas?

I think this will end up being a mistery, I rebooted because I change the vm.dirty values and now Fix common errors doesn't find the cache folder error
In addition I have reviewed the mounting points of all the dockers as you mentioned and not a single docker is referencing to /mnt/cache

Regarding OOM errors I am going to follow this advice and see how it goes

Your original post mentioned getting:
Mar 6 04:30:05 Unraid root: Fix Common Problems: Error: Invalid folder cache contained within /mnt
which was my big concern. If this repeats then it is almost certainly a misconfigured docker container referencing that path. I do not see this repeated recently so you might want to run Fix Common Problems again to see if that path still exists and if it does look at what that path contains to give you a clue as to what creates it.
I have re run fix common problems and still appears, I think is because this "Remote" folder that I think I created when I had rclone. But now I can't delete it.
And regarding the out of memory errors could be related with this settings? what are the recommended values if I have 32 GB of ram and usually half of it is no being used.
Disk Cache 'vm.dirty_background_ratio' (%): 2
Disk Cache 'vm.dirty_ratio' (%): 3

You are likely to get better informed feedback if you post your systems diagnostics zip file as without those we are just guessing.
The messages suggest you have something mapped to /mnt/cache (probably a docker container) and you do not have a pool called 'cache'. This would mean that the /mnt/cache location is in RAM so writing to this that will fill up your RAM.
It might be that I have plex transcode on RAM bust last time plex was used, was like 10 hours before that out of memory error happened.
I have attached the diagnostic file

I am getting this errors every 10-15 days or so
Mar 6 04:30:05 Unraid root: Fix Common Problems: Error: Invalid folder cache contained within /mnt
Mar 6 04:30:08 Unraid root: Fix Common Problems: Error: Out Of Memory errors detected on your serverOther related settings
Disk Cache 'vm.dirty_background_ratio' (%): 2
Disk Cache 'vm.dirty_ratio' (%): 3
Any Idea how to fix it?

You are my Hero!
After 3 Hours searching for a possibility to daily Backup the Flashdrive or its content i found this script.
And what to say...
Create Folders
C&P the Script
Fill the blanks
Set the Schedule
Fire and Forget
Awesome! Thank you
P.S: optional e-mail notification would be nice (i'm not so ften on my unraid gui)
I have all the Unraid notifications on telegram. I think it was configured from the settings page

you're on the right track! however the rm syntax requires a target. try this instead
rm -rfv "$dir"* echo 'All files deleted'
if you want to confirm this works before trying on "mission critical" files, take everything out of $dir. Then cd into the directory, and run this
touch test1.txt test2.txt mkdir testfolder
this just simply puts in a couple basic files and a directory. If the commands i gave you for section 4 work correctly, it should remove these test files, and the rest of the flow should result in the latest unzipped backup copy of your flash drive.
Thanks, it works perfectly I have learnt a lot with you
Together with this Script (the first one in my life) and Kopia I have tune up my backup system
#!/bin/bash /usr/local/emhttp/webGui/scripts/notify -e "Unraid Server Notice" -s "OneDrive backup started" -d "Synchronizing Kopia backup to OneDrive" -i "normal" echo 'OneDrive backup started' rclone sync /mnt/user/Backup/Kopia OneDrive:"/Backup/Kopia" /usr/local/emhttp/webGui/scripts/notify -e "Unraid Server Notice" -s "OneDrive backup finished" -d "Synchronization completed" -i "normal" echo 'One Drive backup completed'

@Cpt. Chaz well I am not as good as I though
For some reason
- Section 4 for doesn't delete previous zip files but deletes uncompressed files
- Section 6 fails to unzip the file because I guess there are more than 1 file that matches, right?
If we can fix section 4 I guess section 6 will work, it should be easy but I am afraid to experiment with the rm command.
Maybe replacing section 4 with this will fix everything?
cd "$dir" rm -rfv echo 'All files deleted'

No problem.
Does section 5 not do this for you?
Yes you are right, so I used my advanced skills in scripting programming 😁 and swapped section 4 and 5, so the files are deleted (mtime +0) and then the zip file is moved and unzipped. I won't delete the original zip (section 6) file but I will exclude that file in the backup system.
Now looks perfect for my use case, thanks a lot (EDIT: see next posts, still doesn't work)

UNRAID mess with file permissions
in General Support
Posted · Edited by L0rdRaiden
I have a user (storage) with read and write access to all my shares
this is my samba configuration
So in reallity I have read permisions to all shares but for writting persmisions I can only edit in some folders of some shares. The only clue I have is that those folders are old, they have existed almost since I started with unraid many years ago, by in recently created folders I don't have write permissions.
For example here I can not edit the folders in green, this folders are created by unraid.
I am using the storage user via SMB, I can edit adguardhome.yaml, but I can not edit adguardhome.yaml.bak
Do you know what could be the issue? why unraid started to write files and folders with different permisions?
How can I restore all the file permissions to the "standard"? what are the best practices in unraid?
Also before I was using Code Server docker to edit configuration files for other dockers, at some point I lost that permisions as well and code server docker can only read files but not edit.
