  1. So on the Web GUI the VM and Docker tabs are not visible and when I go to settings to enable VMs it says : Warning: parse_ini_file(/boot/config/domain.cfg): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /usr/local/emhttp/plugins/dynamix.vm.manager/include/libvirt_helpers.php on line 466 Strange thing is the VM actually booted this time to screen (GPU pass through)... Also, the Unraid USB is visible on Windows File Manager where as on a normal working boot it's not..
  2. Hi Squid, IOMMU grouping and IDs identical on both with exception with the additional card has 2 additional lines.. one for SAS controller, the other and additional PCI bridge (both in their own individual groups). One other thing I have noticed with the new card added I get an error that the UPS cannot be detected (via USB). Without it it's detected fine.. Could it be interfering with the USB?
  3. Hi, So I bought a 2nd Dell HBA to expand the storage capacity (as using a new case now). I stuck with the same model that I have already which appreciate need to apply a tape mod to work with my motherboard but that's fine. On adding the 2nd card have has some strange problems.. When adding it something strange happens... When I boot Unraid all seems to work fine but will not launch the Windows VM automatically. Logging into the WebGUI the format theme is different than what I had set. All the drives appear fine however VMs, Dockers etc are not available and when trying to setup have error messages. Shutdown, remove the card..all works fine again (minus the new drives not being available). Any ideas? media-diagnostics-20200530-1102.zip
  4. Thanks Johnnie. So using the code btrfs restore -v /dev/sdX1 /mnt/disk2/restore I was able to retrieve app data and system info from the 2nd disk "sdb" (I guess the one I was originally trying was not the original cache...). Using Krusader I have moved the data back to "appdata" and restarted. I guess I knew it wasnt going to magically bring anything back, so reinstalled plex via Docker as a test. It seems to pick up my profile i.e the users I have, but when logging in it says "Media is currently unavailable" on all the file types. I am guessing I have somehow broken the links? Any ideas? TBH Plex is the only one I am interested in saving as the rest will not take allot of setting up from scratch, where as Plex will be a pain in the @ss...
  5. Thanks johnnie.black , Doesnt seem to be working for me, but probably doing it wrong.. just to check. Should I attempt this with the drives back in the Cache Pool, or in Unassigned Devices? Also replacing the "x", if I have 2 drives Cache (sdf), and Cache 2 (sdb), should I be typing "sdf1" in a single command or "sdfsdb1". Tried combinations (including cache1) and nothing seemed to progress for me. Thanks D
  6. So..upgraded the case for my Unraid server..bringing drives from another unused system (planning to have a cache pool and some drives for the Windows VM). Anyhow...started, added a 2nd cache drive to the array, shutdown accidentally (the little fella hit the Power Button as didnt have all tucked away). So restart, Cache Pool seems to exist, showing 500GB (2 x 250GB SSD's).. Try and run Plex on the TV and it cant find a library, etc etc. Decide to remove the 2nd cache disk (assuming it will revert back to the 1st), and now the first is no longer recognised and the only way to remont them is to erase the data. All the Appdata/System Data is on the cache drive, and no I didnt do a backup (hence the idiot part in the title). I currently have the drive sitting in unassigned devices...but cannot mount it there. Question..is there any way I can access this file to remove the appdata and then do a formated cache install, or am I up the creek without a paddle?
  7. Ok, makes sense. So on the 2nd Parity Check (after the first correcting) and this one seems to have found no errors this far 50% in where as all previous had 2k+ at this stage. Thanks for the help. Will strongly consider pulling the trigger on a 3rd Gen Ryzen 7 or 9 as struggle to accept to be in the low 2000MHz RAM speeds in 2020.... Will test some games later as this instability @ 3200MHz might help explain some random issues in the windows VM also
  8. 1 question, should running it at 3200MHz show errors in MEMTEST as mine didn't (running a shorter run, albeit not 24h). Or does MEMTEST ignore the CPU compatibility side?
  9. Thanks...mad really... Will see how these 2 parity checks go and will strongly consider buying a 3700X and putting the 2700X on eBay...unreal
  10. Rig: Ryzen 7 2700X Asus Prime X470 Pro Corsair 32GB 3200MHz RAM Nvidia RTX 2060 Super Dell HBA (LSI) in IT mode to give 8 extra SATA ports to the 6. So recently upgraded a few parts in my rig and now left scratching my head with a few issues... Been messing around bit trying to get a Windows 10 gaming VM working and have failed to notice that parity checks are returning errors each time (even after correcting). I have been running on D.O.C.P overclock profile as was pissed the 3200Mhz RAM was running a 2133MHz as default, and first few times running parity no issues. Also within the last 2 months have upgraded the parity drive (size) replacing the 8TB WD Red with a 12TB Seagate EXOS. So something somewhere is not working right.. to give the errors every time the last 6 parity checks.. run a pretty new UPS so not power (unless PSU). Just turned off D.O.C.P and rerunning parity which will correct errors and then hopefully the next run has none...but just wanted to check if this is still the case on clock speeds as found posts from last year suggesting 2 sticks of RAM shouldn't be running over 2400MHz on Ryzen 2nd gen... Been building PCs for 15 years and this is the first time I have not been able to run RAM at its rated speed when the motherboard states it supports it so if it is the problem really caught me off guard! Any advice welecome! D.
  11. Looking to upgrade my old i7 2600k rig, which has been a good workhorse for quite some time, and running unraid well. Main reason for the change is looking to replace the need of having 2 PC's and have 1 (Unraid + Windows 10 VM). Dont want to spend money unnecessarily, as literally my use case is Unraid + 4-6 dockers (plex mainly), and have a Windows 10 VM + GPU for photo editing, gaming, daily use. From what I can see 2700x is probably overkill in itself, but newer tech + supposed lower power consumption of Gen 3 Ryzen, makes the 3600 look appealing (albeit losing 2 cores as a tradeoff). Just wondering 2 things... 1. Views on if the 2700X is good in a unraid build (considering Power consumption etc). 2. Is using a VM for Windows 10 perfect for a daily driver/ use, or it has more issues than just having a dedicated 2nd PC? Thanks
  12. I have been battling with issues of the system hanging and being inaccessible for the last few weeks. Out of desperation I completely swapped 90% of the hardware last night as believed it to be either a CPU, Mobo, or PSU issue. The only common hardware swapped was the drives, usb and Dell HBA. Guess what... Exactly same problems, and what's more the issue I had before of only half the RAM being accessible has magically allowedy up on the new build and disappeared on the old. I have applied the electrical tape to the pins and the card is flashed to IT MODE LSI v20. Any ideas? New HBA needed?
  13. Using an older i7 2600 , but will check bios to see if it's enabled. I believe I might have uncovered the problem with my setup finally... The problem only happens when it's connected to the APC Pro UPS system. Since I have disconnected it the problem has disappeared. Why it's causing the problem... Not a clue.. especially when the server is still running but becomes completely inaccessible... Didn't seem like a power issue. Happy it's running now, and will try and figure out the UPS in time.... Edit: Just to add, I have a second Windows 10 PC connected to the same UPS and no problems on it and combined draw from the 2 systems is around 200W, of which it's a 900W UPS
  14. Yes, installed Mover Tuning to see if it could help, but no dice... Its really strange, as seems to be holding onto a set amount of media files, and not moving from the cache..but if I move new files that go to the cache, it will move them onto the pool (but not the old ones). I am guessing by changing the settings at a point in time, the cache seems to think it needs to maintain these files.. changing the shares to Yes, No, etc doesnt seem to move them. Whats the best course, go to Krusader, move them somewhere else, and then back to where they should go?
  15. Hi. I seem to be having a strange issue with my cache drive in which share files seem to be staying on drive. I have marked all shares yes so it can try and transfer but when I try it doesn't do anything. Logs below for 2 attempted moves. 16. Sorry for the delay. I followed the tag process to roll back binhex.. I had already deleted the library in attempts to fix the issue, so had to rebuild as a consequence, and nothing to do with rolling back binhex
  17. Bump. Happening 1-4 times per 24h's. Am now working to try and rule out specific hardware in a process of elimination. If any other idea's please share, as it feels like I am shooting in the dark.
  18. Just to add more, and update on things I have tried to repair.. So the problem seems to be completely random.. all working fine, monitoring logs, nothing flashing up negative, and then the server is not accessible (Plex doesnt pick up files, cannot log into GUI, and when I connect the monitor to the server its not displaying anything). The strange thing is that the server is still physically running (fans, disks, and the network port is still flashing). No way for me to access, and only way to get it back is to kill the power. I have tried to do a parity check several times, but it never gets long enough to complete, and the last run found over 2k errors and got to 90%. Zero logs available as get wiped with abrupt shutdown... I have since updated everything ( though had to step back plex as had issues with latest version) Installed and completed all steps in fix common problems removed the communicate cable to the APC Smart UPS, as recently got it so wasnt sure if it was the cause. Removed all dockers, etc that I havent been using.. Not sure where to go next, as really concerned now on the parity check errors but no way to complete parity check. Also super frustrating watching something on Plex and it stopping part way. Can anyone give any insight as to things worth trying to see if it resolves it? Is it most likely to be software or hardware? Is it normal when connecting a monitor to a booed Unraid system for it not to display (maybe because it wasnt connected at time of boot)? I am willing to try anything, as need it fixed asap..will even rebuild into another PC, if people think its worth a try (obviously moving drives but everything else would be different). Anything would be great..and highly appreciated...
  19. Any advice where to start to find a fix as happening now every day and can't even finish a parity check at this stage.. Attached both log and system diagnosis but both only show from start-up for some reason... media-diagnostics-20190828-0418.zip media-syslog-20190828-0421.zip
  20. i am having a very frustrating issue, which is now beyond my limited knowledge of Unraid and Plex.. So yesterday I decided to update Unraid (from 6.5 to 6.7.2), and Plex (linuxserver version) to the newest version. After that have had a whole host of issues, mainly with Plex which seemed to have corrupted the libraries for Movies & TV shows, making them unavailable and not possible to view via Plex GUI, or a respective player. After hours of trying to get it to work (and searching online), I decided to delete the docker, and rename the Appdata folder, installing the binhex version (all new). I thought it was strange on loading binhex that it gave my user details straight away (as not sure where it pulled it from), and on loading it, its saying that the server is not accessible and wont let me add any meedia to the library. Is there somewhere else I need to delete old plex data, as its doing my head in **UPDATE** OK looks like its the current plex version thats broken (both Linuxserver & binhex), and rolling back the binhex version is working.. Time to rebuild the library....
  21. I think I am having a similar issue, and looking through the forums seems to be allot of similar problems, but can't find a resolution... Server randomly seems to be inaccessible via GUI with no way to shut down or restart without doing a hard reset
  22. Hi, I seem to get an intermittent issue sometimes in which the server becomes unaccesible through the usual channels such as WebGUI (PC via Ethernet, and over WiFi from mobile), also not connecting with ControlR. When plugging in a display to the server it will not give any picture either (all wilst the server is still physically running). The only way to bring it back that I have discovered is by holding the powerbutton to hard reset (less than ideal). I tried to get a log (Tools>System Log), however it only has stored from the reboot itself, and nothing prior to that. Any idea's where I could start to dig to identify potential route causes?
  23. Yup..that will be the one, hence me being an idiot
  24. So I had an issue with a drive drop out and another have smart flag...which it turns out was an issue with one of the power cables or power supply. So I remounted the drive that dropped out and then got a message to run parity rebuild, which I selected yes. It has run its course for 12h and all drives are green but I was missing 5tb of data and the drive I remounted says it needs formatted. So I nformat the drive and unraid seems to be sitting now thinking everything is grand.. But I have 5tb less of data than before. Guessing it's gone.. If that's the case am sure I have done something wrong..that being said it will all be media files but I don't have a clue what files were specifically on that drive. Is there anyway for me check on Plex what is missing? Idiot..
