  1. Hello, I just finished moving my files from a 4 bay NAS to my UnRaid box. I was thinking on building another box to make a redundant copy of my current UnRAID machine. As the title said, would it be possible to synch the 2 machines together easily. Why do I want to build another machine? I was just concern that my current hardwares installed in the build are really old. As a matter of fact, I just had my GeForce smoking and shuts down the machine all of a sudden. Thank you very much in advance.
  2. Thank you very much DoItMyselfToo and jonathanm for the help, problem solved. Indeed, I installed krusader as default without adding or changing the host mapping. Once again, thank you all.
  3. Hello all, I just started using Unraid a couple of days ago. Watched some tutorials on you tube about Unraid. I need help on copying data from my Windows Backup hard drives to Unraid. I installed the hard drive into Unraid box and using Unassigned Devices plug in to mount the hard drive. Unraid recognizes everything and looks fine. By using Krusader, I am trying to locate the drive mounted but I could not find it. Can anyone help me out on How to copy the data from the mounted drive into my share? Thank you very much.
  4. Hello Nexus, sorry for oot question here. I see that you are using Dell H200 controller. Did you need to crossflash the controller or do you run it as it is? Thanks in advanced.
  5. Hi Raja, Not that I try to be a smarta** or anything, but I think you should avoid those WDC Green for the moment. I've had a few bad experiences (5 times to be exact) with WDC Green drives. They were great at first, and just went slower suddenly, continued by deterioration from then on. They were not used as main hard drive, just data storage and were not accessed extensively.
  6. Thanks for the suggestions guys. I have started buying stuff of the list. A question on the cable needed. If I am planning to use 20 data drives, which cable do I need to get to connect the 20 drives to the 2x Supermicro AOC-SASLP-MV8 8-Port? Thanks. BTW, is there a 5-lane sata controller exist? It would be need to connect each 5 in 3 cage to 1 port on the controller
  7. Thanks for the reply Raj. The reason for seagate green instead of the WD green is that I had bad experiences with the WD. It worked ok for several months and suddenly slowed down to a crawl followed by a bucnh of bad sector. I am even having the same problem as we speak right now. Thanks for the advise on the hot swap bays, I will look into it in the future. Maybe I will forego the Xigmatek 4 in 3 drive cage because the case is able to handle it @ the moment.

I won't be using the hotswap HDD cage as it is too expensive for me (would rather go for more hard drive at the moment). Other than the hotswap capability, there is no other advantage I guess. Thanks.
