  1. No. I am referring to scsi. To get scsi virtial disk working on Unraid, I have to do a bit of hack. Change disk.EnableUUID to TRUE. More info at http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=20392.msg234649#msg234649 I don't have to do that with other Linux distro.
  2. on Vmware ESXi does it still require a bit of hack to get virtual disks working instead of using IDE?
  3. The plugin system need to be a lot better than Unraid 5.x Since Unraid 6 is on Slackware, so it is making more difficult to install softwares in reliable way. How does Freenas and Synology deal with the Plugins? Imagine Unraid 6 on CentOS? You could easily do yum install software_name I use Ubuntu Server VM as well
  4. If you manually upload a NZB file on Sab that have nothing to do with Sick/Couch... - it will obviously download on that Linux VM. How would you manually move files to unraid via Windows? I am thinking of installing samba on a VM to create User Share of /home/username/ dir...
  5. I be happy to donate but I would like to see Features & Development Roadmap first with clear information, possibly in bullet points
  6. How about this: - unRAID running natively on CentOS Linux via USB - XEN Support and ability to create VM's from web GUI - Change Reiser4 to modern Linux file system.. ZFS? - It would be better to install XBMC or any apps on a VM. To keep it separate from unRAID. on ESXi 5.5, I have a unRAID VM and other Linux VM for sabnzbd, etc.
  7. I'm guessing that this is a direction Tom would not go in as there is still a subset of x86-only users. Tom would be VERY reluctant to disregard them if they paid for a license. John The right and reasonable way to go about this would be for 5.x 32-bit support to continue in its current state with bug fixes but no new features. I think Tom's argument would be "People did not pay for a product that will stop development on the actual product they paid for". Personally, I have an x64 capable system so I could care less. John People have paid for Windows XP and its no longer updated....
  8. As for managing the VM itself - can't this be done using the shell to start? Are there any web-based management tools for Xen and/or KVM. There is.. SolusVM Virtual Server Control Panel Solus Virtual Manager (SolusVM) is a Web GUI based VPS management system with full OpenVZ, Linux KVM, Xen Paravirtualization and Xen HVM support. That mean we still can write our own Control Panel
  9. I have found the solution doing this: sudo mount -t cifs -o noperm,user=xxxxxx,password=xxxxxx,uid=nobody,gid=users //192.168.1.15/Media /mnt/Media
  10. I want to transfer files from Ubuntu Linux VM to Unraid VM on to Cache disk/share. Should I use smbmount or what is better way?
  11. Interesting discussing and ideas. Feel free to discuss in IRC too on freenode network, #unraid channel
  12. I did the same setup with disk.EnableUUID is to TRUE. I am only getting 60-70MB/sec on the cache disk. Any idea how to improve the speed? It is SATA disk.
  13. Adding Encryption Layer would be very nice features but I would like to see Encryption Layer for specific share instead of whole disk.
  14. Cool. When you download something via SabNZBD, how did you transfer to Unraid? Does it go to Unraid Cache?
  15. Are you running Plex on Ubuntu Server? How many Cores did you assigns for this VM.. I am going to try it tonight
  16. garycase.. Just wondering why is your PSU fan is not facing toward motherboard?
  17. Which is correct cable for IBM ServeRAID M1015?
