  1. Did anyone ever find a solution? I am getting the same error as well on a brand new VM. Just getting it to to install Windows 10 required me enabling SeaBIOS, setting DVD drive to SATA, however while running through the windows install I get the below. sandbox on,obsolete=deny, elevateprivileges=deny, spawn=deny, resourcecontrol=deny \ -msg timestamp=on char device redirected to /dev/pts/3 (label charserial0) qxl_send_events: spice-server bug: guest stopped, ignoring KVM internal error. 2. I am having a similar issue. I ran RC7/8 for a long time without issue. I upgraded to RC10 and now after 1 day the web GUI stops responding. I cannot get it to come back either by running manually starting emhttp. Once i reboot though it comes back fine.
  3. I am using Plex to play my movies, it is pointed at /mnt/user. This particular movie i know was on disk 1. I watched unRAID first spinup every other Disk first then it started Disk 1 and the movie started playing.
  4. Thanks for the reply. I have 2GB of memory for unRAID. And 90% of my files are large movie files.
  5. I have been noticing whenever i play a movie that is stored on unRAID that it takes a long time for it to start (10-15 second) if the disks are spun down. I actually went into the room where my server is today and tried playing a movie and noticed that when i clicked play 1 disk would spinup, then after a couple seconds another, then after a couple seconds another, etc. finally when all were spun up the movie would start to play. So does unRAID know which disk a file on a user share is on? Should it have to spin up all disks to open a file? Also, I do not have spinup groups enabled.
  6. Thanks, i will give it a shot. I think the problem is when it came up as "unformatted" i might have clicked format, which i am guessing modifies the parity disk. The rebuild tree is working now, hopefully some things can be recovered. Thanks again. I have read a thousand times to not click the format button, not sure why i did that.
  7. I did something extremely stupid, and hopefully there is a way to get some of this lost data back. I accidentally deleted folder of pictures from my server. I looked and saw that to recover one should run reiserfsck with the --rebuild-tree option and it would recover what it could and put it in the "lost + found" folder. Well i ran the command and my PC that had the telnet session rebooted unexpectantly so it did not complete. I logged into unraid and the disk was showing as unformatted. I thought the best/quickest option would be to unassign the drive and re-assign it and rebuild parity (knowing what i deleted would not be recovered, but at this point i just wanted everything back up and running). Well the rebuild completed by no data was written to the drive, it is still empty, am i completely screwed or is there a way to get anything back?
  8. I was wrong actually, i have a ASRock Extreme3, not 4. I had to re-check my board after you said yours had 3 PCI-e x16 slots. I wish i had the 4 not as mine only has two x16 slots.
  9. That is the same motherboard i have. I picked it up for free at Microcenter when i bought the AMD processor (FX-4100). PCI passthrough works great. Brent
  10. I have not posted my setup but i have unraid running on ESXi with an AMD FX-4100 chip, it has been running solid for ~5 months. I had major issues upgrading to 5.1 that just came out, ended up having to back out and go back with 5.0U1, it works great. The AMD FX series is a very cost effective platform for 4+ cores. Especially if you need PCI pass through. Try finding an Intel Motherboard + CPU that support Intel VT-d for $120 (that is what i paid for my motherboard and processor). I have an IBM M1015 that i pass through to vmware.
  11. Same here, i have a gigabit network, FX-4100 AMD processor (unraid virtualized in ESXi). I am getting ~60mbps when writing to my cache drive which is a SSD. I remember back in some of the earlier Betas i was getting network speed (110-112mbps) when transferring from my gigabit connected laptop to the cache drive. Well either is very poor, assuming you are meaning to talk about mega bits per second on a gigabit network. Sorry..I meant MBps.

  13. Thanks, this was actually a VM in esxi. I think i finally found the problem though. I did not have the 'min free space" set on the user share and 4 of my disks were 99% full. After setting that and rebooting the mover script is running and deleting it from the cache drive. Thanks for the assistance though.
  14. You paid for 4.7 which still works properly, and does what it said it would when you bought it. The updates are free, and if they take a long time to be released it doesn't hurt you as a consumer, as you already got what you paid for. The license doesn't come with a promise that any updates will be made. Actually, 4.7 has been found not to work properly which is why limetech promised to release 4.7.1. Somehow this has been forgotten and we can't seem to get an official response. The general consensus seems to be that it is not a priority as it will be replaced by version 5 anyway. Even overlooking this, when Limetech went quite for months just before his move, when he finally resurfaced he apologized and agreed that he needed to do better. At the time this gave me a lot of faith and for a while things did improve. But I have been using Unraid for less then 2 years..... I'm sure some of the people who have been experiencing this pattern since the earlier versions were less convinced..... I agree, after that post i was very hopeful communication would open up a little more. I am at the point where I am going to have to either A) Upgrade my Plus license to a Pro License in order to add another drive as I am almost out of space, or B) Go with a different product. I mean unraid is great, i do not even know if there is anything better out there, but the lack of any updates/communication makes me very leery to spend money to upgrade my license. All that being said i love unRAID and could not imagine what i would do with all my data without it.
  15. Did you ever solve this? I am having the exact same issue. Mover moves the files, but does not delete them from the cache drive. Ran memtest, parity checks, reiserfs checks, all are good.
