I think the real competitor, or one of them... may be born with the appearance of the arm boards like the new KTT30 with a Tegra 3 CPU. Arm processors can launch the energetic consumption to levels unthinkable until now. Also know which competitors are able to make the Arm version.

thanks, works for me too..

Mine, a new built it a iCore3, i have 33watts in idle, all drives spun down!
-
Put the name (tower) in your router for the correct mac address. It works for me
-
Does zfs allow only spinning up the one drive that has your needed data? That's golden to me For me too! unRaid it spinning up only one drive, and it all the possibilites too use diferent disks is real unique!

Great... one more i3 socket 1155 build! And how Green is your server ? Did you measure the power in watts ? Drive temperatures in Parity Check ?

Level One Certification: ASRock E350M1 (AMD Zacate)
Nasp replied to Zen's topic in Motherboards and CPUs
I also have the Sapphire E350M1. Fantastic board. No Realtek NIC so no LAN problems. Slow transfers of about 15MB/s when using unRaid cp or rsync to transfer files from my Windows box to unRaid. But 45MB/s using Windows box to do the same transfers. This is with no parity installed. Parity check on an old SATA drive was at 75MB/s. The only problem with this motherboard is that the first two 2 of 6 SATA ports do not recognise my Hitachi 3TB hard drives, although they recognise smaller drives. May just need a new bios from Sapphire. Three other ports work fine with 3TB drives. Haven't checked the 6th port yet. Overall I'm more than pleased so far. Using unRaid 5.0b10. Just an update. The problem with hard disk detection was caused by a bad pin on a power cable. I now have a total of 6 3TB Hitachi drives working in unRaid. Used an e-SATA to SATA cable to mount the 6th drive. That gives me 15TB + parity without using any SATA/SAS cards! I can't recommend this motherboard enough The power consumption, specially in idle mode from a cool board like this is... Do you know ? -
I have this one... Asus P8H67-M LE Rev 3.0 6 Sata Ports 4 + 2 at 6gb, also 2 usb ports 3.0.

Me too, 3 drives and no problems. Also this drives runing more cold than others WD drives i have.

Big thanks Rajahal for your feedback! I will change the PSU for one Corsair Builder Series CX600W V2 80PLUS!!! My intentions is 6 disks max (5+1) and probably one more drive, a cache drive!

Next week finally i will build my first unRaid Server... Already Builded I am finding it difficult to find specific parts, especially the motherboard! Essentially because i want to build a green server... no more than 40 watts in idle is my true objective!! For that... AMD Fusion or Atom Ion Board is initial my first choices, than i discover the economic and the beast power provide for an i3 build. I think that i will overkill my initial and money intentions.. but it is ok Mobo : Asus P8H67-M LE REV 3.0 CPU : Intel Core i3 2100T 3M Cache PSU : Lc-Power 460W 6460GP3 V2.3 140mmn 80PLUS Corsair Builder Series CX600W V2 80PLUS Case : Nox Max (Budget Case for six disks, and more three 5.25 bays) Corsair 2GB 1333 mhz DDR3 2 x 120mm Nox Blacid Acer 1 x 80mm Nox Blacid Acer USB Pen Kingston DT100G2/8GBZ (with unRaid Server Plus) 2 x WDC_WD20EARS-00MVWB0 2TB 3 x SAMSUNG_HD204UI 2TB One older 2.5 cache drive disk WDC_WD1600BEVS 160GB FTP, Samba, XBMC Database, Sabnzbd, Transmission, Video Transcoding add-on, and maybe a cache drive in a 3.5 bay it a windows or ubuntu partition for advance setups and motherboard upgrades. And so on... Post Edit : Add the Pictures... I have hacked all the three Nox Acid fans... 5v for a quiet and silent server: It all drives spun down 33.6 watts in idle!!! Opinions and thoughts ? The article in my Portuguese Blog. In fact this is a Portuguese unRaid Build

Thanks Rajahal, your post is one of the first that i already view! The must important is the electric power... i want a server that consumes 20 or 30w in idle. (all 4 or six drive spun down) I think this is possible only it a Atom board or one Amd Zocate board. One AMD Sempron + one dedicated board i think it consumes more than 40w in idle... correct ? @neilt0 one server like yours is my objective. Great!!! I have five green hard disks, maybe six or seven (it cache) is the number of hard disks that i want to put in my future server. We need a topic here in the forum only it the Server vs Watts, it is very important for a green planet

Hello folks Recently i have discover this great software, and now i want to build my unRaid Server for substitute my two NAS and my usb disks... The question is, what is the Mobo/Processor more economic in terms of watts ? For build a green server... (all my hard disks are green) An Atom based Mobo is more economic than any other Mobo + Processor ? From the Hardware compatibility list, i think the GIGABYTE GA-D525TUD (with more two sata ports from pci card), is a great deal for build my server. Opinions ?
