  1. Hi, I was upgrading my Unraid 6.3.5 system to: Supermicro X11SSA-o-f Board E3-1275V6 Prozessor 16GB Kingsten ECC Ram Because of the few SATA ports I tried to get my old LCI3032 Card running, but this Card was not stable, the Board find the card from time to time. But when the system has to work it crashed. Then I bought an Adaptec 3085 Card. Which boots perfect, I see the Bios, can Enter it. Start as an JBOD assigned it etc. Everything is nearly fine. Every HDD is correct found and running smoothly. But unraid didn't find the HDD attached to the SAS Card. In the System I see it assigned to the IOMMU correctly. During the boot I didn't see some errors or something. I have already switched to different PCI-E ports which didn't help. I am not very good in Linux so I am really stuck right now. Thanks
  2. I have the problems only with the USB 3.0 but when I put it in again in the USB 3 it works, only if it stay put over the boot up sequence of the unraid-os I have the problem with the VM and the device hosted at USB 3. @jumperalex: It may be that it only works for "Intel" CPUs or Systems, but the fact is, after and before I have these parameters not in the syslinux.cfg I can not run any VMs with PCI-E passthrough only with VNC with this parameter my HD7850 with my Board and the A10-6800 work fine. It may also be that it works the same as amd_iommu, I do not know. I have not really thought about the "Intel", because I am not very into Linux I only try to solve my problems with the solution other people with more knowledge has found. But thank you for the hint I will give it a trry when I need to reboot my system.
  3. I have the same board and I have hat the same issue. I could solve it after I have edited my syslinux.cfg in syslinux folder on the flash drive. My syslinux.cfg now looks like this default /syslinux/menu.c32 menu title Lime Technology prompt 0 timeout 50 label unRAID OS menu default kernel /bzimage append intel_iommu=on vfio_iommu_type1.allow_unsafe_interrupts=1 initrd=/bzroot label unRAID OS Safe Mode (no plugins) kernel /bzimage append initrd=/bzroot unraidsafemode label Memtest86+ kernel /memtest The only issue that I know notice some problems with USB 3.0 in the VMs because unraid-OS finds it but the VM has problems to accept them.
  4. I solved my issue. I installed a Lunbuntu Version as an VM, than I assigned with CIFS the SMB Mounts as a Directory and now Crashplan and other Linux Backup-System can make Backup of the Files and Folders, to an unassigned device, which I have already preformatted at NTFS. The second effect is know that I have a second VM running Teamviewer for my external Management of the System.
  5. Hello, I am not very firm with linux and searched a lot but could not finde something taht I can use. I have 2 unassigend Devices in my system. One I use for Docker and VM the other is for Backup purpose. I like to make a automatic Backup from the Dockers HDD to the Backup Hdd. I tried Crashplan but even with a correct mounting and everything the files are written directlyinto the Docker Image. So I need some help to get this think work. I do not care if it works with Crashplan or another System. I also have a Win 10 - VM running, I tried to use Robocopy on that, that did not work. Thank you in advance.
  6. Hello, I am really happy, everything worked like aspected. Win 10 update runs through and the VM is fast and reliable. The only thing that I do not like ist the fact, that the VM is not in the same Network as my other Systems. They have different IPs. That means that Plex and Steam - Streaming will not work probably because they can not found the Server / the other PC correctly. Means for Plex unnasessary Traffic. And also the only 10GBit connection is a little bit slow. The second question was inspired by the Thread about a second Ethernet-Card is directly connected to the VM. Is something like this possible for a USB-Ethernet Adapter also? I aks because the Standardway to assign the USB-Adatper to the VM in the Menu will no work, the VM did not recognize the card at all and only shows the RedHead VirtO Ethernet Card as available. Thanks in advance for you help.
  7. It was really easy: 1) Install the Plug-In "Unassigned Devices" 2) Mount it under "Main" and make the Disk work, change the Path if you like 3) Now you can make a new VM-Disk and safe it in the new assigned Disk That was all.
  8. OK I got the imrpovement with the unassigned Device, now I have no diffenrent between a "normal" PC and the VM running.
  9. Hi, I have setup a Win7 - 32bit VM which runs great, GPU, Keyboard, Scanner and so on is working correctly. The Benchmarks looks like nearly I have a "normal" PC not a VM running. The only thing that I notice is, that between starting a Program and loading it, it take a long time. A take of some Seconds which is not very nice to notice. Download works completly normal in speed, but to finish the download ist takes some seconds before the File is showing up or even is running. I have a Cache-Pool (with nor HDDs) and right now runnig the VM there. I try know to put it to an Unassigned Device (another HDD) and hope it will running better. What is your suggestion to get the System to "normal" Working speed? Thanks in advance
  10. Thank you for youre help. I have make a quick research and it looks like that the Motherboard will support IOMMU, I think I will give it a try. I am aware that with such a GPU I will add heat (it is complete passive system) and will mainly waste power but I have my server up 24/7 and with this I can make use it for more and different thinks than right now and this will be great.
  11. Thank you for the information, I will give it a try, because I have a spare here. Will there be a benefit if I run a Windows VM with the separate GPU? Or even "Gaming" VM? Can they make use of the Hardware? I am not up to date with VM. Thank you for youre help.
  12. Hello, I want to Upgrade the next week up to Unraid 6. I just want to know if it makes sense to add a separete GPU (AMD 7850) to the System (8GB and an A10 from AMD)? Will it help to make the System faster for Plex (as Server) and also to run a Virtual Machine on the System (I am not sure if I go with Windows or Linux yet)? Furthermore I like to add OpenElec on the System I think with a separate GPU will be here the best benefit.
  13. Hello Olympia, yes everything is working correct now. You have just to minor typos one is for the start of the package in the go script installpkg you have written installpgk and for the start of the tvheadend in the go script you have written a -c and if you look in the tvheadend documentation it has to be -C. With this small changes I got the system run. than something went wrong to do the hardest part and make the fw file. This didn't work correctly the first time after a reboot of unraid, and a retry it worked. The problem that I have right now are two things: 1) I can not access the recorded .mkv files wie my Win7 PC because of the defined rights of the file. (owner is user: root / Group: video) 2) I like to make a auto convertation of the .mkv file to an .avi / or .ts file to play it with my Media Clients that I have. The TV Server is really great it runs also flawlessy with my android phone.
  14. Thank you for the feedback, but it was not the only issue. After researching to the topic and finding the correct specs for the firmware i reinstaaled everything, but i got still the problems. I recompiled the correct firmware it worked somehow the fw was missing. Now i have the issue that i can not get the recorded files with windows. Some problem with the rights mangement.
