I have similar problem mine get started and canceled 4 times. and the parity check history shows only two of them. For 4 days my disk was spinning for 19 hrs, i didn't canceled. And the logs doesn't tell anything. x99-diagnostics-20230728-2136.zip PS: So today was the same thing happened.. so after more checking i found where the problem was. Who in the right mind will use "Every day" literally in the context of other settings and the specific task. Here "Every Day" should mean "Any day" - of the "Last week". Try seabios and ovmf, try different type of disk controller emulation (normaly sata works for vbox but....) you can try ide,virtio, scsi...use latest q35... PS: from this blog if you open there xml you can see that they use ide controller for the disk emulation.

Try to disconnect all other usb devices. It is pretty common to have a bad usb device that brings down hole usb bus or a mose that have a short in the cable that only shorts in some of the movements. Also a lot of cheepo wireless keyboard mouse receivers hang after some time and mess the usb buss.

Because you didn't have loaded windows. Windows doesn't boot without gpu.... The thing is that most of this videos are not relevant anymore. A lot of things change. The thing you have to do for the gpu to not been used by unraid and to be bind to vfio driver is. Unraid GUI>TOOLS>System Devices>mark the check box of the device>click on bind to vfio>reboot.

So before all that did you try to bind gpu to vfio from system devices menu ? Because 'video=efifb:off' was a thing that was necessary like 3-4 years ago. And for the black screen if you use qlx adapter and your gpu as the second adapter on installation. You will be able to finish driver installation trough VNC screen. And i am pretty sure that if you use csm it will work too. Using uefi with some of the popular hba cards that everyone sims to use with unraid now will result in hangup on host boot. I thing the key to your success was upgrading to 6.10 because when i upgrade to 6.10 most of the tinkering things i have to do in the past to get working gpu pastrought was not necessary anymore.

So from what i remember in the past this was working ok. But i didn't use for some time. It is some kind of bug. It is happening every time when updating docker container from community apps menu and not from docker menu.... If you force update it after from docker menu it becomes OK again.

Yes i understand that your mboard doesn't have UEFI and it is only BIOS. The UEFI part is that your VM is better on OVMF and that is not in correlation with what type of bios you use bare metal. From what i read OVMF have more optimized communication with real hardware. As for editing problems with the Unraid GUI and XML form. If you want GUI you can use Virt-Manager docker from APPS > it is standard VM linux manager and doesn't bleach your xml when editing with it. AS for power saving 6.11 bring the new amd-pst driver for rizen, but from testing and from reading it is garbage for desktop it cut the performance too much.

Do you have 100Hz on baremetal? nad from nvidia screenshot that you post you doesn't have all the menus, i read your xml and saw that you use 5cores and ppl go about that odd numbers a representative for VM maybe that is why kvm hidden doesn't work for you.

Go up in the resolution selector and find native... And: After you than that you will have all the missing menus in the nvidia panel.

Ops my bad, it was fairly long post.....don`t know what happened... So lets try again. You can create Vm without deleting old one, so that you can be sure if the problem is with the xml itself. It is 30 second process like 3-4 clicks. It is recommended to use OVMF for passthru, most ppl had better success with it .( for me works both ways). As for your hardware OVMF and Seabios are emulations and are not dependent on what type bios you use in your real machine. Interestingly most ppl recommend to boot unraid legacy and use ovmf for vms. (for me works both) One of the problem for you which may arise is that does you have uefi bios on the 1030. But it is not so big, because you wouldn't see VM boot process but you will see output on your monitor when windows starts and have installed drivers. As for that, that your windows is installed on seabios, yes it wont start as it is on OVMF. Microsoft had tool for converting "mbr" to "gpt" and i thing there was a command to do it from command prompt. For the license thing it is not a problem you have to just copy 'UUID' number of the old xml > 3th row. And for starters just make another vm template with same version of q35 same vdisk, qlx as 1st gpu and 1030 as second gpu.Start it connect tru vnc and install drivers. And if you afraid that you could mess your vdisk just make a copy of it.... - It will work every update i change chipset version with the new q35 and VM doesn't work and i just recreate it from gui make my edits for uuid and mac address (and multifinctional) and is up. (1 minute). PS: for the DELL h310 i have one and i had the booting hang problem, it is from that, that controller doesn't have uefi rom so if you try to boot with uefi and have boot option rom enabled in bios it hangs.... So use legacy or disable boot option rom in bios. no taping required. PS2: For others if something doesn't work don`t try multiple things at the same time, do it one at time methodical. - it will be faster.

Dude, i read 2/3 of the post and i am speechless, i didn't even know that you could delete when VMs it is not stopped from unraid settings. And how do you expect mover to move open file? Try open any document in windows and cut/paste or delete it.... The other thing i don't believe that you delete it because inside of it are xmls and nvrams, so after deleting it you would be left without any VMs. As for 1030 passthru it is not anymore dark magic. So the fastest way is to create a new VM without attaching anything else except your virtual img drive. Use q35,ovmf, qlx/vnc gpu ,dont use same name for the vm, pin your cores . Start the vm and connect with VNC client of the unraid. If windows is up and working download DDU and clean nvidia drivers in safe mode. After that turn off the VM. Go to its template and attach 1030 as a second graphics card with its audio.(Don`t mess with the xml before you try the GUI that unraid gave as, go there if you have problem or for otimizing). Don`t put vbios. Start the VM. The card will be there from here on if you have problems with installing drivers you could try with passing vbios and correct xml to put the gpu and audio as one unit. PS: Latest version of unraid just work out of the box... From wast screen shot is see that this drive is mounted... and it is formatted with btrfs. So are you trying to passthru already mounted device and possible part of the array? To attach drive to vm it has to be unassigned and not used by unraid for anything.

Use q35 chipset, i440 is not good for passtrought. This gpu is old and you cant see booting and installing process because it doesn't have uefi bios. You will see output on your monitor only after successful installation of nvidia drivers and only when os is booted. You could try seabios for booting output but i don`t and most off the ppl doesn't recommend it. After install use virtio-win-guest-tools.exe for drivers installation > it will install all necessary virtio drivers. The malfunction part is correct. PS: delete this template because you cant change chipsets on already created VMs. PS2: GTX460 is so old that i don`t think it has audio on it, i think it is only dvi/vga/svideo output. In best case it will have 2pin header for audio passtrought over dvi which you have to to connect to the front panel header on the motherboard with a cable, and after that to passtrought onbord audio.

Yes same error for me on unraid, it was working on proxmox. The interesting thing is that soft off is working..

Look in nvidia panel what type of connection you use, because some vbioses are shit (or when you us from a diferent card) and report ports as other types of ports. I have 1070ti and use bios from different brand because mine doesn't have quiet fan mode. So 1 of my DP doesn't work and 1 is working but in control panel says DVI :).... As for the thing with the uefi problem you can try to download others from techpowerup and edit them as per spaceinvader video. The other think you could try is seabios (whitch is legacy bios emuletion) from the vm tab. But mind that to change bios type you have to make new vm. and new windows installation (you could do with the same windows installation but you have to convert your virtual drive to GPT and shit. as new installation it easy for you to do new).

You just have usb controler on the card which is very good thing. Go to "tools" > "System Devices" and find IOMMU group 15 mark the check boxes for these 4 devices and click on "BIND SELECTED TO VFIO AT BOOT" > reboot system. After reboot when you go to VM template you will have GPU and Audio part of it in the graphics card and Sound card section drop downs and the two usb controllers as a check boxes in "Other PCI devices section".

Somewhere on the gpu there is a sticker get the info from there or if u have the box of it. But biostar that is manufacturer that i didn't here for many years Try this one i only find one Biostar 970 and it looks like referent one. Galaxy.GTX970.4096.140903.rom
