Not sure where exactly to post this, so trying here. Please advise if should be in another sub-thread. I am running newest version of unraid for background. I have a nvme drive in server formatted to BTRFS and running a couple vm's on them. Windows 10 vm Arch Linux VM Home assistant etc. The image files are qcow2 also. I attempted this a year or two ago and don't think drives were btrfs back then and tried doing snapshots with qcow2 commands. I might have done them wrong as nothing worked. Just kept getting bad images and could not restore. So, I abandoned the idea and just when I remember (which never happens) I just backup the image file to a backup folder. I would like to automate a snapshot routine so I could snapshot my vm, like vmware. Is this doable. I believe btrfs and zfs drives have snapshot abilities. Can I be pointed in right direction? Or assisted in the process for me to take a snapshot, mainly of my windows vm, but other ones would be nice. TIA!

I am also having an issue after upgrading. Read through some posts. I am not having 445 issue. What I can see. When I try to boot nginx it fails. if you look at my servers. conf file. Getting duplicat listen on 200.11. I can't find where that is on the flash boot drive. I clear it out of the servers.conf file but when I go to reload nginx it is added back. I am having a weird issue. Just built new server. AMD 7950x 16 core 32 thread processor. On my tv's, or other devices when I use plex, I have it running on two spots. one is a docker on unraid. The other is plex server running in a windows vm on the same unraid with like 8 processor threads. I am talking Local playback which I have configured as play full quality, no transcoding. When I go to play a movie through plex via docker I get errors "not enough processor to view" or something like that. But if I try to use plex with the plex server on my Windows vm, runs perfectly fine. I was thinking that docker, since I have NO pinned cores, it will just use all available processor to play. I don't have any GPU in the server at all. What would cause the docker server to say not enough processor, but the plex server running on a windows vm on same server with less processor power assigned to vm, run perfectly fine?

Sorry to ask question on old thread. How do I get to see that Docker dashboard? I can't find anything inside of unraid. Something is taking up image size and I can't figure out what docker is doing it. That screen post above with sizes, How do I get that?

Ok, weird thing. I was able to get to webgui via monitor on server. I was able to go into settings and move from TLS/ssl strict to just ON. Now I can get to it. I run unifi switches in my house. My main switch (which this server is plugged into) was not showing up in dashboard. So I rebooted it this morning. It might have upgraded the code during the process as it says it has current code now. Wonder if for some reason the new code on unifi is messing the ssl redirect it was doing?

Problem Is, I can't get to the webgui to do anything. So can't make any ssl changes. My array is encrypted and I have rebooted. Only access I have is ssh and can't start the array from ssh

Not sure what you mean. Try connecting via http and not https:? Tried that and did not work. Tried incognito also.

Starting yesterday I was unable to get to webgui anymore. Was working fine before that. Nothing changed on server. Server just finished parity check yesterday. Unrelated I guess but still ifgure would say. I was able to ssh to server. eventually after shutting down all vm's and docker via cli (ssh) and unmounting all drivers. Umount ....... I shutdown server. Hooked up monitor and mouse. and tried to boot into gui mode to see what is going on. It looks like going through boot process fine then when it should prompt for gui to login, monitor goes to sleep. From desktop I am able to get to server. So I know system is working. Dmesg does not really show anything. I tried to boot to gui in safe mode and still nothing. I finally just booted back to gui in normal mode and again I can't get to webgui. When I go to https://192.168.x.x I get a 404 not found nginx.. Please help. tower-diagnostics-20230104-0850.zip

I just came across this old thread. I was having issues with EVE-NG just crashing my server after a while. Started reading on Nested kvm's which I didn't even know about. Hopefully this fixes my issue. If you are still around, any other tips and tricks with EVE?

Did you ever find a solution to this?

Not sure if this is related or not. My hard drives don't want to spin down and I have them to 15 minute timer. I have these errors just repeating over and over again. I do have 2 video cards in server. AMD rx 570 and 580. One for a windows vm, and one just sitting there for unraid to grab. I have one of them pinned to vfio. Not sure which one. I have just started to use Veeam as a windows 10 agent and backing up to a share on unraid. I know there is a veeam agent for linux. I know Unraid is based on slackware, but I don't know which version of veeam to download. I have a couple vm's I run. And I have a simple user script using rsync that backed up some folders to a external 12tb drive. I used to use a backup script for my vm's but on an unraid crash. i lost that script and have not got around to fixing that. My script did not have any error checking as I am not sure how to do that yet. Was a simple rsync copy. That being said. I know Veeam does all that for me. Anybody have Veeam experience and know if it can shut down vm's, back up the vm to a backup folder. Then copy folders to my external backup?

I upgraded to 6.9.0 then to 6.9.1 and I have been having some issues. My win10 vm keeps crashing. Looks like video card or something. THis was working perfect before upgrade. Now I see this in my log. Just keeps repeating. I have two graphics cards in server. Both AMD rx580 and rx570. I am not even using them at the moment. Just ran the win10 vm on vnc to try and get it to work. Just keeps crashing and corrupting. Tried different ssd's so it is not a drive issue. What was your solution to this? I added a new drive to my array, and I am having this same issue now. Last two times I have rebooted, I get wrong encryption key. I have added other drives the same way. No issue. Put drive in, pre-clear, stopped array, added to slot, start array, format,bingo more storage. Reboot and says wrong encyption key. I put a new 10TB drive in the array. Followed normal steps: preclear. Then stop array. Add it in next pull down menu to array, Start array. click format. Done Well, now I have rebooted twice since. 1st time said Unmountable: wrong encryption key. I was annoyed, but nothing much was on drive so I just clicked format and it worked once again. I just rebooted and now same thing. Drive won't mount. I really don't want to reformat again. This happened last month with my cache drive. I forget how I eneded up fixing it. I tried even making new array option. Then doing a parity rebuilt. Takes a long time. I don't want to have to go through that again. I am having some issues when reboot my server now. At first my cache drive would not mount saying wrong encryption key. After a couple reboots and reformats changing cache drive to xfs encrypted. Seems to work? I stopped array and now none of drives will mount saying wrong encryption key. I see an option at the bottom that says "delete key file" I want to click it *don't push the big red button 🙂 " I am guessing that just deletes the keyfile that is created when i open the array with a password? Then when I stopped the array. The keyfile stays there? I won't break everything by deleting that keyfile? Luks keeps the pass IN the header or the encryption data (i said that wrong i know)

I had an issue a week ago which caused me to have to reformat my cache disk. Now everytime I reboot my server it says cache disk has wrong encryption key file. Last time I saw this. I was pissed but reformated my drive and rebuilt all the vm's etc. I had backups at least But, I had to reboot today and same issue. Can somebody assist why this keeps happening? Settings is set to btrf encrypted so everything seems set right. I had to leave house. But when I get home. Wonder if I can cryptsetup ....... To decrypt and open the cache disk?

being overly cautious. I could be way off base. But, was thinking if crypto ever hit system, having the backup drive attached could get encrypted. So I thought if it is not mounted, not risk of data loss?

How do I manually mount an unassigned drive in a user script? I have a backup script. just a bunch of simple rsync commands to an external 12TB drive. I was thinking I don't want that always mounted. On my old linux box I had a simple check if disk mounted, if not mount and check file system. I tried to add this simple command to user scripts (mount /dev/disk/by-id/xxxxxxxx.xxxxxxxxxx.xxxxxxxxxx_part1) but that messed things up. I rebooted server and watched log as it was mounted. I turned off the vdisk and the vm is still pausing? and I unplugged the keyboard and mouse that was acting up. Any other idea?

For some reason. My two windows 10 vm's have been pausing recently. The only change I have done is got a new dell Ultrawide monitor with a built in kvm in it. At first I thought having the mointor switch between inputs and keyboard unplugging so to speak when I switched monitor back to another computer caused it. But, only ONE of the vm's was on the monitor. I have TWO radeon video cards in server. One rx580, on rx570. They have been running for a long time and this has never been an issue. I swapped vm's to the monitor to see if the other vm that is not running on this monitor would pause. They both did. I have since only run the vm's with NO video card on, and all peripherals NOT being passed through. No keyboard and mouse. Theytower-diagnostics-20200525-1951.zip still Paused. I have attached the diagnostics. Weird thing I noticed, I just got a warning that My docker is using a lot of the image up also. Not sure if related.
