  1. Just to see if it makes a difference. I have almost tried everything. I've replaced the network cable going to the server, reset the config file. That only gave me back the same ip, the reserved was removed. I should've just added one myself. Unraid doesn't need any specific ports open unless it's remote access right? I try to avoid opening too many ports.
  2. Thanks guys. The one thing I noticed and changed today, was my Nvidia Sheild was using port .22 which is the same as SSH for Unraid. Correct? I might also change Unraid's 443 and 80 to something else. I will take Frank1940's advice an setup the logs just before I think it is going to go. It's pretty consistent it goes out about 3 days in. I had to hard boot on Wednesday.
  3. I've been trying to solve why Unraid drops the internet every 3 to 4 days. I changed my USB to a 2.0 port. I have deleted the network.cfg and rebooted. I have been active for 2 days so far. I never deleted the network.rule.cfg file. Does that matter? The strange thing is. I can't see any of those Network files on the USB now. I'm looking at it through the internet explorer. I use to see them there. I'm thinking something must be going on with the USB. It's not that old, it's a Sandisk.
  4. I spoke too soon. Unraid lost internet again. Almost ready to throw the towel in. I removed some portforwarding I put in place. I doubt that caused it. Made a whole 4 days with no problems 🤣 Could the cpu cause lose of internet? What about the flash drive? Just thinking, is there possible an idle setting on my gigabyte board that could cause it? Considering downgrading my Unraid version. Seems to me I have had issues since I upgraded.
  5. It's only been a couple days, but it's looking like it was the network cable. The new cable clips in good. It also solved connect issues I was having on my phone with Nzb360. It funny when it was running how it never effected Plex remote streaming. Also replaced all my Sata cables, parity check was running really slow. Haven't tried that yet. Things are looking up. Lol
  6. Hi Everybody, I want to finally set things up so i can gain a little more speed. I have never used a cache drive or pool, use of cache is disabled. I do have my appdata and vms on 1 ssd m.2, my downloads are also on a second ssd m.2 drive. Not sure if it would make a big difference, I would like to convert the current appdata and vm ssd (1Tb) to a cache drive. The best way I'm assuming to do this would be to temporary copy the appdata and vms to my downloads ssd, then format the drive, then have that drive move the data over. Any thoughts? Maybe I'm wasting my time?
  7. Thanks for the feedback. Appreciated!
  8. Hi, Wish I seen your post earlier. I bought this cable https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B08G49H5JS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1 to replace this https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07RHN8LQC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_image?ie=UTF8&th=1 I think somehow I damaged the end of the cable. I have the same cable in my desktop that i forgot about, and shook it pretty good and the light didn't move. How would that take so long to put the internet to the server down? I would have thought it would effect streaming plex or other things. Thanks for your feedback. Appreciate it! I will let you know once i replace the cable, and it's ran for a few days. Stupid me, just realized my MB doesn't have WOL. If I put the server into sleep mode I guess I will have to do it the old fashion way. Push The Button to wake it up. LOL
  9. Hi, I pretty much rebuilt the server, had a power issue and turned out to be the motherboard. Server runs great and a lot quieter. Something good come out of it, but now Unraid drops the internet once a day. I checked the router for ip conflicts and there were none. I had the Ethernet plugged into a Asus 10g network card. When I slightly wiggled the the cord the light went out. So I plugged into my 2.5 onboard lan and the light still goes out if i wiggle the end a little. I don't know if the internet is going to disconnect from that port yet, because i just plugged it in there. Is it normal for a cable to do that? I just figured it is the way it fits. It's cat7 cabling, about 2 years old. I have a static ip set, bonding enabled. Going to see if maybe the network card has an issue, other then that it might be the cable. Not seeing anything in the logs that's bad. 10. Just a follow-up, ended up changing the board out, solved the power issue. That was pretty much a rebuild LOL. The new problem is Unraid is dropping the internet every other day. Squid mentioned the idle settings in his previous post. He might be right about those settings. I haven't had a chance to look yet. I know I have to go and change the keyboard and mouse settings, can't boot without them plugged in. Some good come out out this, the server runs much quieter with the new fans and the Artic cpu cooler, which brought the temperature down pretty good.
  11. I have never looked at that setting. Have had this board over a year with no issues up until the last number of weeks. I can have a look and see what it is set at. I think most of those settings were auto. Could be wrong. I will have a look and let you know. I hope I never see a power or network connection issue again. It's frustrating, not to mention expensive. Positive side system should run more efficient. Not what I really wanted, but ended up buying the Gigabyte X570s Master. Not a lot out there right now. For me to go to an actual server board would probably mean changing the cpu and ram. Just could kick myself for not just changing the board from the start. Thanks, let you know.
  12. The system totally crashed in the night, no power when I woke up. Ordered a new board. Should not be losing total power. That's twice now in the last number of weeks. Really strange. I thought I had put the eth0 back, guess not. Thanks for the help. Let you know what happens. Unless the UPS is part of the problem and I just missed it. I ran it for a week without UPS and it still dropped the internet, didn't do the crash part.
  13. Hi, Sorry for the late reply. I normally see an email when someone responds been a little frustrated lately. 😁 It happened just shortly before I sent the post in. I have attached my network settings. I have this nic card https://www.amazon.ca/Asus-XG-C100C-Network-Adapter-Single/dp/B072N84DG6/ref=sr_1_1?crid=3R3T27OBBZ8EH&keywords=Asus%2BXG-C100C%2B10G%2BNetwork%2BAdapter%2BPCI-E%2Bx4%2BCard%2Bwith%2BSingle%2BRJ-45%2BPort&qid=1670697910&sprefix=asus%2Bxg-c100c%2B10g%2Bnetwork%2Badapter%2Bpci-e%2Bx4%2Bcard%2Bwith%2Bsingle%2Brj-45%2Bport%2Caps%2C75&sr=8-1&th=1 I have switched it with the identical one I have. Don't have a high skill set when it comes to this, but I didn't see anything that looked bad in the logs. Could it be possible the USB flash drive is causing a disconnect? Not that old, think it is a Sandisk. Also, would the updates from Unraid possibly effect the nic card? I replaced the power supply on Friday. That night it disconnected twice from the network. I never make any drastic changes, thinking it might be the motherboard. I just bought that one last year. Going to add a liquid cooling system to the cpu, and upgrade all the fans. Don't think that is the issue, but it won't hurt. I have a Thermaltake W100 case. Seeing the CPU and GPU run a high for what they are doing at times. Nothing too bad. No fan in the front of the case to suck air in, going to change that. Really don't think that is the issue, ran it this way for 5 years. Been shopping for a board but not aggressively yet. Looks like a system rebuild shortly if I keep going. LOL...Thanks for getting back to me. Really appreciate it.
  14. Hi, Unraid has been dropping the internet Nothing else is dropping it. I have Fiber line. It went a week without dropping it. but In the last couple days it has dropped it twice. Just a couple hours ago was the last one. Here's what I have tried. I ran it without the UPS, for a week. Change the 10g Nic Updated Bios Reset Network Settings Ran a ram test. Passed everything. Tried Disabling Bonding. Have not installed it yet, bought a new power supply, and a (CPU cooling system. Waiting on delivery.} Attached a couple files. Any ideas are appreciated. Ran this system for a long time with no major issues. I think it might be power supply. 15. Hi, Anybody running Overseerr through Delugevpn, and accessing it remotely? I tried connecting it the same way I do with Sonarr, Radarr and Nzbget. Can't access it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
  16. Thanks, checked the share settings and they are on for that device. It was showing and it just quit. Really weird.
  17. Stupid me...LOL Never seen it that way before. I would I get windows to pick it back up? It dropped it from Windows, I was doing a few reboots and that could have caused it. I can see all the other stuff from the server in Windows explorer except that drive. Might be able to add a new location. Thank you!!
  18. Hi, Just noticed the other day when I lost the share in Windows, that my Unassigned device is duplicated and eating up my storage. I stopped everything, dockers and array. It gave 2 red Xs, one to delete partition and one to clear disk. It doesn't look like any of those are good for my situation. I tried unplugging it and rebooting didn't work. I've attached an image. The bottom one was my original one. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
  19. Hi, I have been using sleep mode for about 7 or 8 months. I let it go into sleep mode, then I hit the power button in the morning. Could never get it to wake on its own, no big deal. Once I did the upgrade to 6.10 RC 5 and beyond I have no connection once I power up in the morning. It's basically dropping the internet, forced to do a hard power off. I have disabled sleep mode and have had no issues since. Any one else having issues with sleep mode? I'm assuming this is something that will eventually fix itself with updates. Thanks.

I'm not disagreeing with you 😂. Still might grab that box. Probably going to have to pull the other nic card out of the server anyway . I might need the slot for the sata expansion card. Might be forced to build a backup server. Might solve some problems.
  21. Badboy replied to Badboy's topic in Hardware
Tbank you. That one's pricey. Lol... Still haven't given up totally on trying to get the other card to work. I think somehow I have to delete Eth0 and just use the 2 nic cards. It bugs me when I can't figure something out. 😂

You think this work work? https://www.amazon.ca/MikroTik-CRS305-1G-4S-in/dp/B07LFKGP1L/ref=sr_1_3?crid=GRRIXQFG1AQL&dchild=1&keywords=CRS309-1G-8S%2BIN&qid=1635522255&refinements=p_85%3A5690392011&rnid=5690384011&rps=1&sprefix=crs309-1g-8s%2Bin%2Caps%2C56&sr=8-3 The only concern I have is the isp box 10g port goes directly into the MikroTik box instead of my server. I don't think there will be an issue. (I read a few people have had an issue) I would have to get an adaptor for the main cable from the isp box, because the cable is ran down through the floor. Don't want to have to change that one. I think I seen adaptors for rj45 to SFP+. Would I have to do both ends? I think for now I will get the box, and then build my backups in my Unraid case. It is defiantly big enough. Unless I have an issue with my expander card. LOL...Plans will change. This will be a more cost effective root. I still have to buy 3 16TB drives. You could pull your hair out trying to make your mind up sometimes. Your input has been great. Much appreciated! Maybe we gave someone else some ideas.

Cool, Do you know if that rack comes in 12 disk? I'm going to buying 16tb disks. If I buy the switch, I plug that cable into it and get 4 10g outlets? Curious, what parts do you have in your rack? Like you said before, probably don't have to go overkill. I read you would need to switch the fans. Can you not use cat 7 cabling For the 10 gig connections?
  24. Badboy replied to Badboy's topic in Hardware
You might be right. I thought about both of those ideas. Not sure what type of switch to get, like to get my server, desktop, and maybe another raid server on internal 10gig.. I have a 20 bay Thermaltake case. I built it a little future proof. I really appreciate your input. I always like to know other people's ideas and equipment. I seen this on Youtube. I think you can turn these into servers. https://www.newegg.ca/norco-rpc-4224/p/N82E16811219038 Have a good night.
