Help with LSI 9207-8i Please
Sorry, let me just clarify. I wanted to see if I could even add a disk to my current array. I have one sata port left on the motherboard so I plugged a drive into that slot with a single cable. After I rebooted I couldn't find the drive. When you stop the array the unassigned window comes up to assign another drive to the array. The drive I just connected is not there. I'm using a Blue cable instead of red, shouldn't matter.

Help with LSI 9207-8i Please
Here's something strange. I have 1 sata port left on the board, so i decided to test one of the drives by plugging it in direct, stopping the array and adding the drive. The drive won't show up. The only one that shows is the mounted one under assigned devices. Not sure if something is shutoff or not. I don't think so, but this could explain why the controller drives don't show. Any ideas?

Help with LSI 9207-8i Please
Hi Benson, just an update - new cables doesn't make a difference. At a lose now. Might just have to setup something external. Unraid doesn't seem to want to play nice with these cards.

Help with LSI 9207-8i Please
No problem, going to try those cables, just seems really strange that the drives won't post. These are cheaply made cables, read that some people have had to replace them. I wouldn't think both of mine were bad, who knows LOL. Thanks for the help stay safe.

Help with LSI 9207-8i Please
The disks are not posting in unassigned devices. Just want to add them to unassigned devices and create a pool. I checked out some other cables. These look like better quality https://www.amazon.ca/LiNKFOR-Breakout-SFF-8087-Multi-Lane-Internal/dp/B07XDB61V5/ref=sr_1_10?dchild=1&keywords=Mini+SAS+36P+SFF-8087+to+4+SATA+7Pin&qid=1599075323&sr=8-10

Help with LSI 9207-8i Please
Just plugging into the one port of the card and the 4 lines out to the sata drives. These are just going to be posted unassigned devices for backups. Won't be any part of the raid. Bought both sets from the same seller. Little long, but I have a big case that I have to run them through the back and out the other side. I will buy another set. Any recommendations? They were the right type of cables I assume? Forward breakout 8087

Help with LSI 9207-8i Please
Hi. I just bought this card https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B0085FT2JC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 When Unraid boots it shows the LSI Card. The Avago Utility tool doesn't show any drives. I can't find the card in my BIOS unless I'[m missing it. Card is In IT Mode - FW 20 4 Drives connected to the card are WD 4TB - Came from my Qnap. ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. - ROG STRIX X470-F GAMING Processor:AMD Ryzen 9 3900X 12-Core @ 4 GHz The card does show under system devices ( NOT UNDER SCSI Devices) IOMMU group 15:[1022:43d0] 01:00.0 USB controller: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD] Device 43d0 (rev 01) [1022:43c8] 01:00.1 SATA controller: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. I think this card will work, something is just out of whack somewhere. Could it be the IOMMU groups, unassigned devices? I do have a ssd drive mounted in unassigned devices. This is the 2nd card I have bought and it is the closest I have gotten. Green light is flashing. These cards sure do run hot. My case is pretty open, might have to put a fan on it. Hopefully someone can help before I pull all my hair out, or run out of money buying cards. LOL Thanks Randy

According to Asrock they say the board may not be compatible.

Help Array Device Moved To Unassigned Devices
Hi, I have the ones with the main lead and 4 going off of that. Board is Asrock x370 SLI LSI 6Gbps SAS HBA LSI 9201-8i = 9211-8i IT Mode ZFS FreeNAS unRAID US These are the cables https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B012BPLYJC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_image_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 The funny thing is it won't let me boot into the Bios when this card is plugged in. I'm wondering if it's the drives I have plugged in. They are only going to be used as backups under unassigned devices. My main drives are Seagate 10tb, these ones are WDs 4TB. Maybe they need formatting? Isn't that what unassigned devices does? Thanks for the reply.

Help Array Device Moved To Unassigned Devices
Looks like it just rebuilt the data, doesn't look like I lost anything. Now if I could get my LSI sata controller to pickup in unraid I would be all set. It's already in IT Mode. Just won't work. Thanks for the reply appreciate it.

Help Array Device Moved To Unassigned Devices
I think it did have an x on it. I just went ahead and re added it It said disk is now active, it's running a parity sync / data rebuild. I read that as long as the disk was setup by unraid before it shouldn't touch the data. If I'm wrong my bad. LOL. Thanks for the reply. Appreciate it.

Help Array Device Moved To Unassigned Devices
Hi, I had some motherboard issues and ended up unplugging my drives and plugging them back in. I have 5 10tb disks with 1 as a parity. When I booted up it said "Disk 2 Not Installed" It looks like it has put itself in Unassigned Devices. If I stop the array and use the dropdown menu and add it back to my main array will it wipe the data off? I don't want to loss the data. Thanks

WireGuard - VPN Tunneled Access to a commercial VPN provider
You are right, from the looks of it you have to use their NordLynx. I think at some point they may change this. I just thought it was interesting that they implemented additional security measures so it's usable to some Linux clients that want to try it. As of now WireGuard will still have some security issues, which is understandable because it is still in development. Good to see a company like Nordvpn jump on board. It means the future looks bright for WireGuard. Sorry, maybe a wasted post for this forum. I use Nordvpn myself so I just thought I would post the info.

WireGuard - VPN Tunneled Access to a commercial VPN provider
Hi guys, Nordvpn was not mentioned up top. From what I'm seeing they are actively involved with WireGuard. Not sure if they are totally done testing. From what they have developed to enable use with WireGuard I would personally trust them first. That's just my opinion. In all honesty not sure if any of this new development with WireGuard can be fully trusted right now. It does need people testing it to find out. https://nordvpn.com/blog/nordlynx-protocol-wireguard/

[SOLVED] unRAID 6.5 Windows Cannot Access \\TOWER
I spent a number of hours with the same issue. I tried everything SMB v1 etc... I can confirm to do this first before wiping off your computer or doing anything else. I reloaded the operating system for nothing. Thank you for this! Thank you Microsoft for making our lives more difficult again. I was seriously considering downgrading the operating system. LOL

[Support] binhex - SABnzbdVPN
Hi Guys, I sent this to Nordvpn, but I was curious if anyone else had speed issues with SABnzbVPN or their vpn in general. Unraid Ryzen 8 core 16 thread cpu. 32 gigs of ram. My internet is fibre 360mbs down and 30mbs up. My router is an Asus Ac-5300 Tri-Band. I'm using the latest version of Merlin Firmware on it My internet provider is cogeco. I'm about an hour from Toronto where a lot of these vpn providers have servers, or so they say. I have openvpn set up on the router with Nordvpn, so that it connects to the server's individual ips that I want on my vpn. The problem is I can only achieve 5mbs of download speed. I'm using SABnzbVPN. I was thinking of connecting to the vpn directly in SAB, not sure if it would make a difference. I know Nordvpn doesn't support portforwarding. FYI: Had the same speed issues with PIA I know about using the closes servers, switching between UPD and TCP, trying different servers. Using p2p, which made it worse I have tried everything. I know it depends on the speed of your internet. I don't expect great speeds, but 5mbs? With the equipment I'm using it's not that bad...LOL I have read about a number of people getting 20 to 50mbs on smaller internet packages and equipment. I have done speed tests on my internet and it is functioning properly. I'm thinking it is being blocked somewhere. Is it possible that the ports 1194 /443 are being blocked by my isp? My router has the default firewall wall button on. Anybody got any ideas? Maybe change ports on SAB, Usenet. Pretty much out ideas. Might just have to accept the fact that this is the way it is, or try another VPN. Not so sure that will make a difference. Thanks This might help someone else. This is the response from Nordvpn. I get the impression he didn't read much of my email...LOL The downside to OpenVPN is that in its current architecture, it is not scalable. It runs as a monolithic process and cannot run multi-threaded. This means that if you have a beefy processor with 8 cores and each of the core has 8 threads, OpenVPN will use only a single thread in one of the available cores. Regarding routers - they do not have powerful CPUs, thus encrypting and decrypting OpenVPN traffic is a real challenge for them. For that reason, the speed can drop by a large amount. You could try increasing your speed by connecting to a few different servers (preferably to the ones in yours or neighbouring country), changing between TCP and UDP, enabling QoS and changing Upload and Download to 100Mbps, disabling SPI Firewall and NAT Acceleration (if your router has one). You could also try looking for the most optimal MTU value on your router which could be in the range from 1300 to 1500. If these changes do not help and you are getting better speeds while connected to the same servers with our software on your computer, then, unfortunately, your router's hardware cannot encrypt the internet traffic fast enough and this is the reason for speed drop. In this case, there is nothing that I can suggest you, unfortunately.

New Emby Docker

New Emby Docker
Hi, Switched to Emby from Plex. I like their design concepts a little better, Plex has been a little glitchy as of late. I already bought a lifetime license a few years ago., so going to try again. The issue I have is I would like to offer Emby remotely to a couple people. What is the easiest way to get SSL working with it? I have Let's Encrypt on the server for local network connections. Anyway to incorporate that into Emby? Thanks

[Support] Linuxserver.io - Medusa
Hi Everybody, I have installed Medusa because I thought it might be nice to try something different, and because Sonarr has started to present some issues for me. Early look, impressed with the modern look and layout, few glitches here and there but In general very good potential for this app. I was able to import my Tv Shows. FYI: If you have periods in any of your folder names it will not find that show. I still can't seem to get the downloads to start automatically and have have no idea why. It snatches them but nothing happens. I did start one manually and the auto processing renamed and moved the file without issue. If the developers keep working on this it could become a leading app. So far good job guys!

CyberPower ok to use with Unraid?
Thanks Blindsay, I figured it out after I posted. Stupid me. It works!? Was kind of sweating there for a bit. I hope this stops the random reboot. I think I have finally fixed the cpu issues with my Ryzen 1700x. I was having major issues when I was using Freenas. It was the best thing that could have happened. This is a great OS system. Problems I have now are a lot easier to fix. I love my Nas once again.

CyberPower ok to use with Unraid?
Just bought a PSU CyberPower 1500va 900w. I know, I seen the recommended requirements for APC after I plugged it in. Right now I just have the power cord from the Unraid unit pl;ugged in, as well as the desktop. Do I connect this to the unraid machine in any other manner? What do I use for settings in the PSU section? Little bit lost here, not to mention mad because I normally buy APC, but didn't feel like running around. Hopefully I didn't waste my time. Thanks for your time.
