  1. Got back from hollydays Finally just got back to single nic and all work great. Using vlan and not the second nic. Thanks for answering but I think will keep this config. Enviado desde mi iPhone utilizando Tapatalk
  2. Hello, I've got a strange issue that seems to freeze unraid interfaces for minutes and then come back again. Already on ipvlan for docker. My motherboard have 2 nic: -eth0 on range 192.168.1.0/24 from where I manage and local services -eth1 on range 10.10.10.0/24 direct to my firewall for separated lan where I have all my internet services like nextcloud,..... so are separated from network. My unraid came from another mainboard with only 1 nic, managed to migrate all to new system and becouse have 2 nic then created 2 bridges, one for each nic so traffic is separated. Got lots of issues to make unraid understand I have 2 nic and want 2 bridges. Had to delete both network files and reconfigure all again,... I started to notice some nic drops becouse all stop working (home assistant VM, dockers acces,...) for minutes then comes back to work. My NICs are: [8086:15bc] 00:1f.6 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation Ethernet Connection (7) I219-V (rev 10) [8086:1539] 02:00.0 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation I211 Gigabit Network Connection (rev 03) Main error I managed to find are these on system logs Aug 22 00:15:47 Tower kernel: veth1732a34: renamed from eth0 Aug 22 00:15:47 Tower kernel: docker0: port 2(veth2756685) entered disabled state Aug 22 00:15:47 Tower kernel: docker0: port 2(veth2756685) entered disabled state Aug 22 00:15:47 Tower kernel: device veth2756685 left promiscuous mode Aug 22 00:15:47 Tower kernel: docker0: port 2(veth2756685) entered disabled state Aug 22 00:15:49 Tower kernel: docker0: port 2(veth87b1ca7) entered blocking state Aug 22 00:15:49 Tower kernel: docker0: port 2(veth87b1ca7) entered disabled state Aug 22 00:15:49 Tower kernel: device veth87b1ca7 entered promiscuous mode Aug 22 00:15:59 Tower kernel: eth0: renamed from veth88a1e09 Aug 22 00:15:59 Tower kernel: IPv6: ADDRCONF(NETDEV_CHANGE): veth87b1ca7: link becomes ready Aug 22 00:15:59 Tower kernel: docker0: port 2(veth87b1ca7) entered blocking state Aug 22 00:15:59 Tower kernel: docker0: port 2(veth87b1ca7) entered forwarding state Aug 22 00:18:27 Tower kernel: veth0176cf2: renamed from eth0 Aug 22 00:18:53 Tower kernel: eth0: renamed from veth305acd7 Aug 22 00:19:31 Tower emhttpd: read SMART /dev/sdd. I think is not related to the docker issue I see around, already on ipvlan from beggining just in case. Why unraid renames eth0 by itself??? Is a known issue?? I created the diagnostics file and exported system log in case need more info.
  3. I wanted not to use ACS becouse as far as I know it comes with performance penalty hope someone have similar to know if old bios have better iommu groups
  4. Hello, Just moved all my Gaming PC to work as unRaid. All is working but have iommu group issues I expected good iommu groups with this motheboard but found that 1st and 2nd PCIE16x (i know when both are populated are 8x8x) are in the same IOMMU group. Need help from someone using maybe any variation of Aorus Z390 just to know bios version or if have the same porblem. Im on the latest one F11n i think. Best regards
  5. Seems i found the way, just need to test more. -Bind controller so can passtrough directly to the VM -delete any virtual harddisk on vm config -check the nvme controller on the VM -When VM boots F2 to access bios and check nvme as primary boot device -After 2 reboots got able to install unraid drivers and guest agent Once get new hdmi cable and new usb extension will pass gpu, monitor, keyboard and mouse.
  6. Hello, I have recicled all my PC as new unRaid, all is working but now I need to know how to (without loosing data) use my nvme with a baremetal windows 10 install to work directly on the VM. I think just passtrough the nvme controller to the VM Select the nvme disk as main VM disk Then start the VM?
  7. Thank you very much!!! After all of your updates, how is the system stability now? Same Bios firmware? About PCIe lanes I'm finishing my build list. I need the 8 sata, extra M.2 slots for direct drives for VMs and pcie slots for win10 VM gaming daily driver/moonlight to laptop. 3900X seems don't have enought lanes for my needs. Thanks again!
  8. Hello, maybe is already answered but I just want to make sure about your build. Does the SATA and M.2 share lanes? I mean for example on my workstation the m.2 on cpu lanes shares bandwith with sata 0,1. Does threadripper solves that with all his lanes? I searched on you motherboard manual but also can't find about PCIE slots sharing lanes. I'm right then about that this x399 designare ex doesn't share lanes between PCIE, SATA and M.2? I mean if you use a M.2 slot a SATA port is disabled, if use the PCIE number X the M.2 slot is disabled,....? All my questions are related about if I finally go for your build but with a 2920X without an extra LSI HBA. The 8 sata ports + M.2 slots are great. You still recommend this motherboard? Even for a single Gaming Windows 10 VM and lots of dockers? Sorry about my english and if any of my questions are stupid.
  9. Thanks for all your help! I'm still thinking about upgrade my unraid server and needs to be green becouse here electricity is expensive. Ryzen is a great option to my usage. But was scared to loose so much cores on my Plex. Just need 2 concurent transcoding. Actually using an old i7T 35w 4/8 and igpu manages Plex With a 2700x with only 65w can manage my actual usage and leaves free cores for daily working Windows 10 VM.
  10. Thanks for your answer So if I understood your post correctly, being a 3700X a 23860 passmark. Using 1 of the 8 cores should be about 2982 passmark so about 3 h264 or 1 h265? He performs 24 h264 streams on a 3700X that us about 994 passmark per core. So It seems correct.
  11. Hi, I watched a video from "bite my bytes" youtuber about his new Ryzen build comparing a 3700x, 3900x and a P2000. He claims being able to transcode lots of movies at the same time but I'm not sure about how many cores uses on the Plex dock. Does someone here with Plex can share his experiences with Ryzen cores? I mean how many cores you use on Plex dock appliance and how many 1080p movies got able to transcode? Thanks!!!
  12. Thanks for your help!!! I configured scheduler manually. I have 2 x 10TB disks and 2 TB of free space. I'm thinking about add a parity and an extra HDD to get 10TB more. I'm right thinking to add 3rd HDD and after add the parity one? I mean for faster parity build. I think parity first and extra HDD later will be 2 parity calculation. Thanks Enviado desde mi Pixel 3 mediante Tapatalk
  13. Hello, Been searching on Google but can't find where to define the disks to read check with scheduler. I have 2 disks with no parity and a SSD cache. Actually read check only is performed for 10TB, and each disk is 10TB so it should read check 20TB. Thanks Enviado desde mi Pixel 3 mediante Tapatalk
  14. I think I will have to go Intel by the moment. Wanted to wait por Ryzen 3x00 series but without cstates working I cannot go green enough. I'm thinking about that with intel, won't be using an auxiliar PCIE GPU for plex transcode. Integrated intel GPU works perfect for me, just have a maximum of 3 transcodes at the same moment and also no 4k transcoding solution is needed by the moment. This way evades the 5-10W idle for that PCIE GPU. Ryzen 2700X + gtx1550 cost nearly the same as a 9900K where I'm from. Loosing a PCIE expansion with ryzen way also. The intention with new unraid build is also as said a posible win10 VM gaming rig, if not the 9900K would be so overkill. Now I'm strugling myself to find the right motherboard. Seen some Intel Z390 from Asrock with dual gb lan and a 10gb. The 10gb nic i found is compatible since unraid 6.4.X.
  15. Hello, I'm going out of space on my synology, and my unraid is being used just as Plex (using synology as repository), PiHole,... and I have been thinking about upgrade to a new system to get an Unraid with VM gaming rig. I'm wondering about that near random problems about cstates on Ryzen that at my understanding have also the function to idle CPUs reducing the power consumption. Becouse I need a green solution (in my country electricity is not expensive at all but don't whant to waste electricity) if Ryzen are not able actually to idle correctly and evade that crash on some people I will have to go with intel 9900K... I thought mabout Ryzen 3x00 but then problem should persist becouse as far as I understood is an Unraid software problem not being enough compatible. I'm thinking about this build. Unraid Build Main function Plex, PiHole,... Secondary function Windows 10 Gaming VM with my 1080ti, and Oculus compatible (lots of USB3... will need PCIE extra controller) SSD for cache for Gaming VM Storage without parity. A raid solution like unraid or raid5 is not a backup, just a protection, so will use my Synology as a Backup system of the data on Unraid (more expensive I know) If Ryzen then will need an extra GPU that could be a GT1050 for Plex transcoding thx to actual docker gpu passtrough If Intel then nothing extra Synology DS1517+ Actually 4 x 6TB on SHR for personal data, movies,... Any help will be apreciated.
