All transfers via FTP/SMB/HTTP/iperf from any client to UNRAID capped at 10MB/s. Internet to Unraid (Usenet/P2P) is full gigabit speeds.
It's not though, looking at the rest of the thread. External non-lan SMB/iperf connections are going at gigabit speeds. Includes downloading from internet onto both pool and cache, as well as hosting a file from pool/cache. I can download, using another network (friends house, work, etc) files off of my server, non VPN, at over 60-70MB/s. And the server downloads files at around 100-112MB/s. All through the same network connection. I only have 1 cable connected. Another way to confirm is if I make a flash backup and download it using the unraid UI, that 1.3gig file downloads at the same 60MB/s as well. So even content hosted over http by unraid directly is served at normal speeds.

Can't access UnRAID through non-Unraid VPN.
Hi, Really odd issue here. I have 2 VPNs setup on unraid. One is Wireguard, and the other is tailscale. Using either one, I can access unraid using both IP address, or using the local hostname (tower.local, etc). I can also access other servers on my home network, including my unifi router, and my remote desktop machine. I also have a secondary wireguard VPN setup on my unifi dream machine. When connected via that VPN, I can access my local network just fine (router itself, my other machines, etc) but I can't access Unraid at all. It doesn't matter if I use the unraid IP or the local domain, it doesn't connect. The same goes for SSH/SMB, it only works if I'm connected via tailscale or wireguard running ON unraid. All the other networking stuff on my unraid server works fine. I have a reverse proxy setup, I can access my actual domain from anywhere on or off either VPN. It's super fast, I don't see any weird connection issues. The only issue is accessing unraid directly (SMB, SSH, webUI, or docker containers). This can ONLY be done via my unraid VPNs. Does anyone know why? This has to be 100% an unraid config issue. I just recovered my setup and before, my older unraid server was fully accessible via any VPN I had setup.

Unraid webui 500 after restarting. Tried multiple solutions.
Yes, Tried stock v7, and the same non-responsive page, nginx and php were not starting. Actually just swapped back to my old system and it's working perfectly fine on v6.12.15... so odd! Looks like I'm staying on there for a long time. Happy to help debug and provide more info for this if needed by the devs.

Unraid webui 500 after restarting. Tried multiple solutions.
Alright, progress. Seems to be a bad GPU... that's the only thing I kept from the previous build, and unraid doesn't seem to like it. I figured it out by restoring an old 6.12 backup, and that got hung up during booting. Googeled that error (getting stuck at something that started with Triggering .....) and the post talked about how they had to replace their pci-e sata card. Got me thinking. Weird error, let's try booting without anything but my LSI attached. Removed both GPUs and my 2.5g nic, everything booted up on the fresh unraid 6 stick. Booted up on the 7.0.1 backup, and.... Everything's broken again! same issue as before.... For now I just swapped back to 6.12.15 and Its smooth, restored my pools, and now just need to restore my dockers and compose files. =/ Really would like some input from an Admin/Dev about this weird situation.

Unraid webui 500 after restarting. Tried multiple solutions.
Okay, 100% not the problem. I just built a new system, and it's running into the same exact problems. I get an IP, go to the IP, doesn't work. start both nginx and php, and then get the set password screen (fresh install on 7.1.4). I type in a password and the page just stays loading, and eventually times out. This is so odd! I wonder what is happening here... I tried making the boot device on both a mac and windows, as well as making it manually on both. Also got a new 32gb usb2 flash drive. Same exact issues. What the heck.

Unraid webui 500 after restarting. Tried multiple solutions.
I tried an empty drive. It booted fine for the first boot, but then re-starting the system I kept on getting random library not found errors... I think my hardware might be going bad? libproc2.so not foundand network-config never gets created, so eth0/eth1 are not found and I don't get an IP. even manually restoring network-config to provide my adaptors doesn't work. I'm gonna try a new USB tomorrow, but that's about the end of troublshooting and now I'm going to purchase some replacements. Unless anyone has other ideas?

Unraid webui 500 after restarting. Tried multiple solutions.
Alright, so tried it with just the few files you suggested. Surprisngly still running into that same error... Can't imagine what this could be. I'll try doing a fresh install on a new USB. Will keep this thread updated when I find out what's happening. Thanks!

Unraid webui 500 after restarting. Tried multiple solutions.
Okay, super odd. just did a backup from a flash zip that I know works, but still doesn't boot correctly. Same exact error. I haven't rebooted the system in months so this backup while only a few days old from a working state, doesn't seem to be in a bootable state. I'll try a clean OS flash, and do it like you said, restoring a few files at a time.

Unraid webui 500 after restarting. Tried multiple solutions.
Hi, When I'm restarting unraid, I'm unable to reach my UI. I can login via SSH, and have been troubleshooting. Both nginx and php don't start. Once I start both, my php log shows the following: [17-Aug-2025 02:30:41 America/New_York] PHP Fatal error: Uncaught TypeError: date(): Argument #2 ($timestamp) must be of type ?int, string given in /usr/local/emhttp/plugins/dynamix/template.php:54 Stack trace: #0 /usr/local/emhttp/plugins/dynamix/template.php(54): date('Ymd', '') #1 {main} thrown in /usr/local/emhttp/plugins/dynamix/template.php on line 54 I went through a few different troublshooting steps including deleting my network.cfg in case that was malformed, uninstalling plugins, and even booting in safemode. All 3 did not resolve this. I don't entirely know now what to do. This started with an update to 7.1.4, and I downgraded back to my last stable version of 7.0.1 using the manual downgrade instructions, and same exact issue. if I comment out the error line, UI loads but it's totally un-usable. Any suggestions? Thanks! tower-diagnostics-20250817-0150.zip

[Plugin] Appdata.Backup
Hi, I'm running into an issue every time I run this. I have a compose file that has some depends, and appdatabackup always restarts apps in alphabetical order. Even with those in my compose files. My debug log is "2e2a3985-683a-49af-b828-44a7823113be" In that log, you can see bouncer-traefik is not starting, but it's not starting because it depends on traefik first. Which is towards the end of the start sequence using this plugin. Is there a way to just start single docker containers, and then start compose' stacks as a whole stack? *edit* Just saw the start order section. This works!

All transfers via FTP/SMB/HTTP/iperf from any client to UNRAID capped at 10MB/s. Internet to Unraid (Usenet/P2P) is full gigabit speeds.
Yes, sorry I mean literally just local connections to the server are giving me 10MB/s. If I host a file on nginx and try downloading on a remote network (wifi at friends, or mobile network) it works fine and gives me a fairly fast speed. This has been puzzling me for literally 2-3 years! =(

It can't be network connections. Everything else aside from local file transfers to the array gives me 100MB/s. Downloads using wget, usenet, p2p, etc. Just transferring files to the server locally is giving me slow speeds. All external connections are using my full connection bandwidth

Yes.... That was my first check. Please see post again.

Hey, (warning: sorry for mixing MB/s and Mbps, just didn't want to do a wrong conversion anywhere so I'm just using whatever the product is reporting. Ie if it says 100MB/s I'm not converting that to Mbps, and vice-versa!) I've been testing this extensively. I've transferred files from my laptop (wifi) and desktop (2.5G) to my unraid server on the same internal network, on the same switch, on different switches, on the same vLAN, on different vlans, over the built in WireGuard VPN, any networking change I could do I made. I always get a max of 10MB/s. The eth0/eth1 adaptors on unraid are full gigabit duplex connections. On any P2P/wget/usenet connection on the unraid server gets the full gigabit connection speeds on both up and downloads. I have a network speed tracking docker setup and both upload/download on the server has never dropped below 600Mbps. Even Plex transfers max out at ~80-100MB/s upload when people are streaming 4k content. I've transferred files from laptop/desktop -> unraid and unraid -> laptop/desktop and I always get 10MB/s. Doesn't matter protocol: sFTP transfers, SMB transfers (both Windows and OSX), HTTPs via docker containers (even simple a nginx docker container hosting a test 1GB file), and even iperf3 bidirectional is 10MB/s. Removing Unraid from the equation even on two wifi devices I get over 400Mbps device-to-device (two S22's iperf3) This really sucks when I'm trying to transfer large pictures/videos from my desktop to my server for backing up purposes. Sys Info: Unraid Version: 6.9.2 Supermicro X9DRi-LN4+/X9DR3-LN4+, Version REV:1.10 Intel® Xeon® CPU E5-2630 x2 80GB of ECC RAM 4x 1GB ethernet ports, 2x connected w/ cat6A to new Unifi equipment. Both switch + Unraid showing 1Gb connection. Attaching diagnostics as well. Thank you for everyone for taking a look! (This was happening on an old system too. I transferred to a new supermicro chassis which had existing hardware. On my old motherboard it did the same thing. So i highly doubt it is hardware based... has to be some weird config issue somewhere..) mk4alpha-diagnostics-20220520-2111.zip

I swapped a failing cache drive (sdg) with a new same-size drive (sdd). BTRFS balance still says it found 'extents' on the bad drive
Hey ya'll I have a 3 drive cache pool in raid1. All 3 drives are 1TB, I have 1.5TB of usable space. One of my drives (sdg) has given me errors, so I replaced the drive with an identical new ssd (sdd). sdg is still connected as an unassigned drive. When I do a btrfs balance, my logs are still showing entries saying Feb 16 02:24:21 Mk4Alpha kernel: BTRFS info (device sdg1): found 14 extents Feb 16 02:24:22 Mk4Alpha kernel: BTRFS info (device sdg1): relocating block group 10354819727360 flags data|raid1 I'm not sure why? I don't have access right now to the server to disconnect the failing drive. Is that the only way to truly remove the drive? If I bring the array down, is Wireguard still active? That's my only way into the server right now. I tried doing btrfs device delete missing /mnt/cache but this says `ERROR: error removing device 'missing': no missing devices found to remove` And the following is my output for the pool from btrfs root@Mk4Alpha:~# btrfs filesystem show Label: none uuid: 7ed018b8-03ec-408f-b72f-64210d53b1ed Total devices 3 FS bytes used 540.46GiB devid 2 size 931.51GiB used 370.00GiB path /dev/sdf1 devid 3 size 931.51GiB used 368.03GiB path /dev/sdd1 devid 4 size 931.51GiB used 368.03GiB path /dev/sdc1 Thanks! mk4alpha-diagnostics-20220216-0230.zip

Unraid required encryption phrase/file to start array?
Yup, this was the thing. It says xfs - encrypted for some reason. I might have changed it to that a while ago but forgot about it. Set it to regular xfs and deleted my passkey and we're all good now! Thank you

Unraid required encryption phrase/file to start array?
Hey guys, I just upgraded my unraid license to PRO since I added in my 13-15th drives. Once I configured the new array, it said Configuration valid, but START was grayed out. Under start it said in red font to enter a new passphrase for encryption. Is this something required now? I never setup encryption before, and never entered a phrase/file. I just made an insecure decryption file, and used that for now, and everything is working as it was before I added in the new drives (all data/dockers/VMs present).I haven't had the chance to restart yet to see if the encryption was actually set... I'm on 6.8.3 incase that was needed. Thanks!

SuperMicro X8dtn+ boot problem (solved)
KINGPIN LET ME BUY YOU A BEER. HOLY SHIT I spent 2-3 hours trying to get my system to boot after adding in a new LSI card. USB just would not boot, even though the BIOS detected my sandisk cruiser as boot drive. Just kept on getting the select boot media message. Bought a new USB, did a whole reinstall of unraid, but nothing. Followed your advice, disabled all boot options for PCIE devices. Not only does it boot, but no more device specific boot options are coming up anymore, so much faster boot too! Dude you rock man, seriously. For people who are gonna browse this: I have a X8DT6, and two LSI SAS cards + a 4 port SATA PCIe card. Disabled 'options ROM' as directed under Advanced UPNP for ALL PCIe slots. I included my GPU (GTX 960) and unraid is still utilizing it properly for plex encoding/decoding without any issues. Only options I kept on were for LAN.

containered.toml -- log-level error [htop] - After a few days constant extra 10% CPU usage
Interesting. I've never turned on advanced view under docker before, but I'm still getting a huge number of these commands running at random points on my server. Is there anything else that can be causing it? Of course I don't really mind since the usage isn't over 5-10%, but I'd like to figure out what the actual issue is!

Unraid OS version 6.8 available
I updated to this build, and my cache pool has dissapeared. I don't see the SSDs under unassigned drives (but another one of my HDDs which I kept unassigned does) and it also doesn't show up under "Missing", both when array is started and when it's stopped. I can see the drives in BIOS so they're both still alive... Any ideas? -- edit -- Reverted to 6.6.7 and the drives are back. I had to reassign the cache drives to the cache pool but the data is still there. I do notice that the SSDs are the only drives connected to a PCI SATA card.... Maybe the sata card isn't supported anymore?

is there a link to upgrade to this version currently? I'm on 6.6.6 and want to update to 6.6.7 and not 6.7.2

[Support] Linuxserver.io - Qbittorrent
I'm getting the same problem as @J.Nerdy after an update. Not sure why this is happening. Restarting the container works, then the UI and program freeze. Nothing I can do from there without restart the app again. Keeps doing the same thing though. Works for a min or two, then freezes. Checking log it says: TCP: request_sock_TCP: Possible SYN flooding on port X. Sending cookies. Check SNMP counters. Any idea on this? It just started popping up, no idea why as I've had this box running for 2+ years w/ no issues like this before. ***EDIT*** I looked around and found that the SYN flooding message related to the system thinking it's under some sort of DDoS attack. Modified the following in my sysctl file and it seems to be good so far: net.ipv4.tcp_syn_retries = 3 # default=5 net.ipv4.tcp_synack_retries = 3 # default=5 net.ipv4.tcp_max_syn_backlog = 65536 # default=1024 net.core.wmem_max = 8388608 # default=124928 net.core.rmem_max = 8388608 # default=131071 net.core.somaxconn = 512 # default = 128 net.core.optmem_max = 81920 # default = 20480 # net.ipv4.tcp_syncookies=0

[Support] Linuxserver.io - Plex Media Server
Hey all, Recently I've been having problems with plex constantly going down, not entirely sure why this is happening. I've been monitoring the logs and the plex docker, but nothing points to any error or issues. It was resolved for a long time after I updated my Unraid to the latest version, something about a library that the older unraid was using. Now it seems to have started happening again, the constantly crashing of plex. It is just plex, all my other containers aren't crashing. What logging information should I be looking at? The container isn't responsive on localhost, and plex.tv says the server is offline. Any assistance would be helpful! Thanks.

[Support] Linuxserver.io - NZBHydra v2
Hey, I'm running this with default settings on Unraid. it's the most up-to-date version of Hydra2. I keep running into this error every few hours: java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: GC overhead limit exceeded Dumping heap to /config/logs/java_pid220.hprof ... Unable to create /config/logs/java_pid220.hprof: File exists Exception in thread "http-nio-0.0.0.0-5076-Acceptor-0" java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: GC overhead limit exceeded at sun.nio.ch.Net.localAddress(Net.java:479) at sun.nio.ch.SocketChannelImpl.<init>(SocketChannelImpl.java:133) at sun.nio.ch.ServerSocketChannelImpl.accept(ServerSocketChannelImpl.java:266) at org.apache.tomcat.util.net.NioEndpoint$Acceptor.run(NioEndpoint.java:455) at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:748) Would anyone know why this is occuring? This happens when I search via the UI or via API (Sonarr/Radarr) but not every time. Any troubleshooting steps would be helpful. Thanks!
