  1. It seems I spoke too soon. Although Unraid was saying the disk was mounted I began getting warnings from the Fix Common Problems plugging that Unraid was unable to write to the disk. I tired to use mover to move all the contents back across to the array but it hadn't moved anything after about an hour and then gave up saying it had finished. I ended up wiping the cache drive and restoring my appdata folder from a backup. I've got my dockers back up and running now. I think I've lost a couple of files from shares that hadn't been moved to the array yet by the mover, but oh well. I hope you manage to get yours up and running again. Out of interest, are you using a Samsung Evo drive as your cache?
  2. I've managed to get my cache mounted again, so leaving this here in case anyone else is struggling with this... The cache wouldn't mount and reported "Unmountable: not mounted" just like in the OP's screenshot. I resolved it by installing Unassigned Devices, then stopping the array and under cache drives I deselected my Samsung Evo drive. Next I selected it in the Unassigned Devices and clicked mount. It mounted straight away and I could browse through the filesystem on it without any problems. Then I set it back as the cache drive again, started the array and it was mounted properly. Hope this helps someone. Edit: grammar.
  3. Just to add, I have the exact same drive as my cache and it's also unmountable when the server came back up from reboot after upgrading.
  4. Thanks for your reply. So just to check my understanding (or lack thereof), if I move the drives across from my Dell and it complains about the drive names being 'wrong' I can just select 'New Config' and should be able to manually assign my drives to the array whilst keeping all the data on them? I'm guessing I'll probably have to rebuild the parity but that's not a problem. I've got about 30TB of data, about 20 dockers running and a couple of VM's and I'd just rather not have to start all over again. And in case it helps anyone having similar problems to me with the P420i, I managed to get it to report the smart data by setting the smart controller type to SAT in disk settings. It still doesn't report the drive temperatures in the Unraid UI but so long as the smart data is working I can live with that.
  5. Sorry to resurrect this old thread yet again, just looking for some advice/feedback on the H220. I've recently picked up an HP DL380p G8 and am looking to move my Unraid setup over to it from a Dell R510 it's currently running on. I've setup a new USB drive with a trial copy of unraid to make sure everything is working properly before I pull my USB and drives from my Dell and move them across. My DL380p has an embedded P420i card that I've successfully got running in HBA mode and passing the disks through to Unraid. The problem is that the P420i doesn't seem to report the drive temperatures to Unraid (not the end of the world) nor does the smart data seem to work properly. No smart data is displayed for the drives and if I press the buttons to perform a smart test nothing happens. This makes me worry that I won't be aware of a failing drive if and when that happens. I've bought an HP H220 card and the very expensive cable to go with it, and fitted it today. I've come across two problems. The first is that there is a message displayed during boot that the H220 is detecting non-HP drives and may not be able to show the drive LED's for those drives, which it doesn't. Has anyone managed to get the LED's on the drive caddies to work at all with non-HP drives on this card? They work fine with the P420i. The second problem is that once I boot into Unraid it tells me that the disks are missing and lets me select which disk should be which. But unfortunately the names as different when presented to the H220 in that there is a whole load of extra characters at the end of the drive name. When I select the appropriate drive for each disk it tells me that it's wrong so I can't start the array up to test any further. I'm pulling my hair out with this and I've done so much googling over the past couple of weeks to try and resolve these problems. I don't mind which card I end up going with, so long as I can get it working properly.
  6. Has anyone managed to get Preview Generator to generate previews for video files? I'm trying to use Nextcloud as a replacement for the iCloud Photo Library but previews aren't generated for any of the videos in the Nextcloud iOS app nor the web interface. After a lot of googling I got Preview Generator up and running (although I need to tweak it to stop it from generating lots of sizes I don't require), however I can't find anything specifically for Unraid in relation to getting video previews working with it. Some sort of guide or pointers for how to get this working would be amazing.
  7. Hello All, I'm a long time Unraid user but this is the first time I've had to post because up until now I haven't had a single problem. But over the past month or maybe two my server is crashing every few days requiring a hard reset. Unfortunately, I haven't got much of a clue about Linux so I really don't know what I'm looking at in the logs and hoped some of you more clued up people might be able to point me towards what might be wrong? I'm honestly on the verge of ordering a whole new server. I'm running Unraid on a Dell R510 with 2x Intel Xeon L5640 CPUs and 56GB DDR3 ECC memory. My Array is 33TB which includes 6 disks, 2x 12TB Parity and I have a single 1TB Samsung 860 Evo SSD as muy cache drive. I run the following dockers, mostly from Linuxserver or Binhex: Krusader, Hoobs, Handbrake, DuckDNS, amtd, Plex, Unifi Controller, Radarr, Sonarr, Sabnzbdvpn, Cloudflared-dns-proxy, Jackett, MariaDB, Nextcloud, NginxProxyManager, Omi, PiHole, Syncthing and Tautulli. I've attached my diagnostics file below, and also my log file from my syslog server because I'm not sure if the diagnostics will show what happened prior to the hard reset. The last two crashed were Monday morning (November 16th) around 05:41 and yesterday (November 17th) around 11:45 am. My CA Appdata Backup occurs at 05:00 on Monday mornings and I'm wondering if that may be one reason for crashing because I think it does seem to go down regularly on Monday mornings, but then also at other random times throughout the week. Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated as I'm tearing out what little hair I have left. tower-diagnostics-20201118-1008.zip syslog-192.168.1.32.log
