  1. I'm looking for a web caching app and stumbled upon this during a google search. I feel like you got bad advice. I think you can definitely have it in two places, provided you have the use case and it makes sense - for you to determine. One way I can think of immediately, is by having a share on a cache pool that isnt interacting with the array, and have some sort of cron job/rsync setup to effectively 'back up' to the location of duplication
  2. Appreciate the prompt response. Installed, but did it manually, not through CA
  3. Since the update 2 hours ago, I have been receiving this on my test bench upon clean install None of my default network settings or other attributes were changed. This is *almost* certainly attributed to the new pull plugin: installing: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/dlandon/unassigned.devices/master/unassigned.devices.plg plugin: downloading https://raw.githubusercontent.com/dlandon/unassigned.devices/master/unassigned.devices.plg plugin: downloading: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/dlandon/unassigned.devices/master/unassigned.devices.plg ... done Warning: simplexml_load_file(): /tmp/plugins/unassigned.devices.plg:5: parser error : xmlParseEntityDecl: entity version not terminated in /usr/local/emhttp/plugins/dynamix.plugin.manager/scripts/plugin on line 212 Warning: simplexml_load_file(): in /usr/local/emhttp/plugins/dynamix.plugin.manager/scripts/plugin on line 212 Warning: simplexml_load_file(): ^ in /usr/local/emhttp/plugins/dynamix.plugin.manager/scripts/plugin on line 212 Warning: simplexml_load_file(): /tmp/plugins/unassigned.devices.plg:5: parser error : xmlParseEntityDecl: entity version not terminated in /usr/local/emhttp/plugins/dynamix.plugin.manager/scripts/plugin on line 212 Warning: simplexml_load_file(): in /usr/local/emhttp/plugins/dynamix.plugin.manager/scripts/plugin on line 212 Warning: simplexml_load_file(): ^ in /usr/local/emhttp/plugins/dynamix.plugin.manager/scripts/plugin on line 212 Warning: simplexml_load_file(): /tmp/plugins/unassigned.devices.plg:5: parser error : xmlParseEntityDecl: entity version not terminated in /usr/local/emhttp/plugins/dynamix.plugin.manager/scripts/plugin on line 212 Warning: simplexml_load_file(): in /usr/local/emhttp/plugins/dynamix.plugin.manager/scripts/plugin on line 212 Warning: simplexml_load_file(): ^ in /usr/local/emhttp/plugins/dynamix.plugin.manager/scripts/plugin on line 212 Warning: simplexml_load_file(): /tmp/plugins/unassigned.devices.plg:5: parser error : xmlParseEntityDecl: entity version not terminated in /usr/local/emhttp/plugins/dynamix.plugin.manager/scripts/plugin on line 212 Warning: simplexml_load_file(): in /usr/local/emhttp/plugins/dynamix.plugin.manager/scripts/plugin on line 212 Warning: simplexml_load_file(): ^ in /usr/local/emhttp/plugins/dynamix.plugin.manager/scripts/plugin on line 212 plugin: XML file doesn't exist or xml parse error
  4. Hi there, thank you for your work to add this to Community Applications. Experiencing something that raised my eyebrow. I googled, but I think the force is weak with me. In logs for homer, I have recurring entries from two entities, both of my desktops directly in front of me [hacked chromebox running windows, mac mini]. (edit: to clarify, the service appears to be running as intended, but I am not really comfortable with repetitive persistent logs like this --- if anything it would cause difficulty in isolating logs for other ailments.) Upon a docker-executed restart from the unraid UI: Interesting part is that the .140 windows box wasn't even trying to access the docker when it was spewing this. I did log out of Windows box, the error did not persist. I shut it down completely, upon starting the docker again, I noticed this: Interesting part being... the docker is configured to run on port 80, not port 8080. Appreciate any insight.
  5. Focalboard is an open source challenger to the likes of trello and notion. It’s early in its dev cycle. im a complete noob at docker and this is my first time trying to pseudo assemble (modify) one. There are a ton of dockers (none in CA)… I’ve tried using several I can get it to run, but as soon as I close the browser it gets killed. I also can’t get data to persist despite trying to define a config directory. Nothing gets populated in there. attaching some screenshots, does someone mind lending a hand to help accomplish the goal and to teach? cheers
  6. Yes, sorry, completed those steps mid-post above - I had misunderstood the part about "My Server" section in Mgmt Access, got a little skittish when all I saw was "sign in." I would like confirmation that nothing was sent outside of my network if I did not sign in. Please confirm?
  7. I want to completely uninstall anything that the plugin put on my server. I have not signed in using this app. I do not want to sign in using this app. How do I uninstall without logging in to "deactivate"? I see the API was updated, too. Why would an API be updated alongside an app, if I've not yet logged in? There shouldn't be any information that's already been shared if I did not log in. I do not want any data of mine stored. My LAN IPs, my URLs. Nothing. I have not signed in yet, so I assume there has been no submission of my personal data to UNRAID without my authorization by merely installing the app. I assume that, in good faith, no data was already sent from my machine, as there were no T&Cs that I agreed to in order for UNRAID to legally obtain that information. I actually wasn't even aware of this app (I dont frequent these forums unless I truly need some help) and I was actually looking for pihole by searching 'pi' in the apps page, saw it, wanted to try it out, realized what it was after I saw the UI shift. But again, no T&C accepted and no authorization granted.
  8. @Roxedus there's a bug in the ts-dnsserver docker... if I set a specific port on docker initial setup (example 8180) then the server's settings page will not update the auto-filled port from 5380 --> 8180. Result, if you update a setting unrelated to the port, it will actually also update to 5380 & confuse the hell out of me for 20 minutes
  9. Yes, I am fine with foregoing redundancy. I want a backup mechanism though, mixing models shouldnt be an issue with that. So, my VM and Docker to live on the NVMe cache drive, and 2.5 SSD on the array, I can somehow set up a recurring back up to the array from cache? This is what I need help understanding, how to accomplish this
  10. Would love more info on this. Were you running btrfs raid 1 or 0? what did you use the 250 for besides being the array drive, i;e did it serve a purpose? Being that my 2.5 and my m.2 have fastly different speeds, I didnt want to put in a btrfs cache pool. rather, nightly backup sort of mode. Knowing my goals and my setup, how would you recommend I proceed? TIA
  11. My understanding, and it's a primitive understanding, so please correct me if I am wrong... the only reason SSDs are not recommended for array is because when using TRIM for parity, it can get a little messy. But... in my scenario with the hardware I have to work with, I wont be doing parity. Fantastic thought with the usb stick as the array. Didnt think of that; mad genius. Really looking forward to making these ambitions a reality. Thanks for your help so far!
  12. Please be friendly, I admit I am noob. I have a spare license and a spare micro form factor dell. For obvious reasons, 3.5 drives are out of the question; I have space for an m.2 and a 2.5. I have 2 SSDs, 1TB 2.5 and 1TB m.2. I would like to (I know it's not purely meant for) use it as a Docker and Hypervisor only. I am a little confused on how to configure the drives and shares to achieve this: Use the m.2 drive (can I use Cache?) as a primary host to the dockers and VMs. Use the 2.5 drive (on the array?) leveraging mover to create nightly backups of my host drive. My question is, how to I keep the data on the cache drive if I am moving it to the array? I was trying to research Copy-on-write, but the whole thing about btrfs was a bit confusing to me, and generally seemed like people wanted to avoid the topic of COW. Thank you KINDLY for helping your friendly neighborhood noob.
  13. Hi all, first time post. I tried searching the User Customizations forum, saw some similar things, but nothing of my exact interest. I want a graceful shutdown script in the event of power outage. The trigger for such an automated shutdown, for me, would be the inability to ping some site over some duration of time... maybe 5 minutes. (If my power goes down, my internet goes down). I plan on purchasing a UPS specifically for my unRAID machine. The UPS only does its job if I can gracefully shutdown before battery runs out. Hence the desire for such a script. This script should: Stop all VMs Stop the array Stop any other process that may become lost/damaged in the event of a *sudden* shutdown (not versed with unRAID enough to know this list extensively) Any ideas on how to achieve this? (I am not a programmer, but willing to give it a shot) Do you know of a script that already does this? Cheers! and TIA Edit: added a word
