@dlandon ah ok no i was saying that the recycle bin no longer works to empty it .. it only works to put the files in the .recycle.bin folder but the recycle bin doesnt notice.. and i mentioned it can be 20 min or so or days and it will not show up.. thats why i gave the diagnostics and figured maybe that warning of the nfs share might be interrupting the UD as it will never show up and a "Refresh" and the "Refresh" under SMB shares do nothing it cant find the transport data smb .recycle.bin folder even though it put it in there it just cant show up
as its been like 30 min and the recyclin (settings) page still shows nothing for the transport data folder...

@dlandon not 100% sure what you mean.. it used to work back in like 6.10 or so
as when i put the UD drive in it automounts and auto shares,,, then in windows i \\tardis\transport data to get to the auto share and when i move to the array.. it moves the files into the .recycle.bin as you see the folder is filled up with the deleted files, and it used to show up in the recycling bin plugin under settings
and if your talking about the add remote smb/nfs share .. i dont use that for the UD drive

anyone having issues to transcode mp4 to mkv... it used to work.. but since i had problems i uninstalled and reinstalled tdarr adn tdarr node... to fix issues before now it cant convert mp4 i have to use mktool to convert them to mkv and then tdarr to convert to 265

here is a pic of my sisters ssd i trade back and forth with her to backup her files.... when i delete the files or move the files the copy goes to the .recylin.bin folder but it never registers in Recycling bin plugin
i running 11.5 since 12.x has been flaky for me.. so i cant get it to empty through the plugin
all i could think of is that NFS share issue warning for UD from the warning... as i took a diagnostic.. before the Authlimit error fills my logs with like 10k of the same authlimit drives me mad

@dlandon sorry delay didnt have internet working right
so i mounted the UD i made a folder on my ntfs UD drive a test delete... i put files in there and deleted the files
it creates the .recyclie bin folder..
but i cant empty the UD Share as it doesnt show up
all i can do is Trash All but it doesnt delete and i let it wait 20 min before i refreshed incase it takes a bit for UD recyclin bin to populate
and i created the folder and deleted the folder and copied files to the test delete folder while running Windows 10
i wonder if it has to do with this warning ?

not sure when it stopped but the recycling bin for UD devices like removable ntfs drive.. is not being detected in the recycling bin to delete it... i do delete files and it goes into the recycling bin but when i goto recyling bin and empty all it never detects or deletes the files in the .recycling.bin on the UD drives... not sure when it stopped just noticed my drives never loosing data when i empty
a stop start
a restart
a rescan of the recyling bin buttons do not make a difference to detecting

@wgstarks my logs are gone at moment but all i had was something [INFO] and then the file name but thats under Log tab unless your pulling it from somewhere else..
for now i just skip it and do it later i guess.. was converting my dvds too but it didnt like it.. also i find the tdarr doesnt erase title in the mkv so when i rip it and when you play it in vlc i get like main_vob as the title so i gotta use the mktool and force a remove the tags... dunno if tdarr can do it.

@wgstarks ah ok so i not the only one at least... i dont get the same logs as you but i just look at the logs page and all the stuff says INFO but un clickable... hopefully there be a fix soon then

is anyone experiencing in the last update or 2... when you are trying to transcode from 264 to 265 or so it throws all videos in the trascode error/cancelled folder.... it used to work fine couple updates ago but seems now any video the odd one gets in and works but the rest are thrown out... the logs dont show any errors really... anyone know whats going on? i tried a reboot of unraid but that didnt help either

im still running 6.11.5 as it seems more stable and less warnings then 6.12x and had issues with them not stable enough

i tried a program someone told me a while ago to try to watch what program was accessing the server.. and i remember it was
svchost.exe it had loaded like 30 copies at once hitting the server.. not sure how i fix that other then Formating windows and starting over
is there a way to disable the logger to ignore this error.. so it doesnt fill the log file of this one error like nothing i fix in windows fixes it.. unless i have to format windows ... so wanted to edit some file that says if you see this authlimit just ignore it and dont log it
is that possible?

@alturismo oh lol .. well least you figured it out or i be still hitting the apply.. since no one in general chat replied which they probably dont know or too soon for a reply lol... as i wasnt sure to ask help in here or there...
least my main server isnt running fans at 5000 rpms now they off or at 1000 lol

@alturismo thanks it fixed it... is the autostart a problem with the plugin or how unraid works now...
i tested it on my one server... ill add it to my other servers... thank you

you guys dont happen to know how i can run say pwm4 the apply option from the command line do ya? i looked into the emhttp folder and looked at some of the code but i dont even know how to run it from the command line to force the fans to stop on reboot.. since it not reading the plugin in and say if its below 35 degrees not to run.. as i exclude my nvme drive... so each time i reboot or boot up i gotta adjust the pwm4 then reset back and then press apply just to get the fans to stop

so i find either there is a bug in 6.11.5 12.x it used to work in 6.9 and not sure if its a bug in the autofan or unraid... and the developer no longer seems to support AutoFan
but what i find is if i set the Pwm4 my array fan temp settings and excude my nvme drive i can make the fans now run.. after i hit apply.. but when i reboot... the fans stay spinning dont stop.. so u gotta make a slight change and back to hit the Apply button again to make the fans stop
so what i looking for is a way to run the Command Line for say PWM 4 to force it to Apply in the GO File so at boot up it will do the force to save...
it does this on all my unraids.. i have... so wanted to run a script when it boots.. since there seems to be no longer support for AutoFan

@PicPoc ah ya seems like it probably why no more updates to the fan support or issue i having as i trying to figure how to script it... might have to ask in general

@JonathanM ah ok ya thats what i thought... but seems i always get the errors when i try to rsync my music back on unraid... its a pain ... and since the letters keep changing on the /dev/sdx its a pain too so i cant do just do it in the script for mounting... i going to try couple ways as i gotta play music tomorrow and sat night... sat morning ill retry the ntfsfix couple ways.... and then sat night after gig ill try running check disk before i shut down then sunday i retest with rsync
as its a pain to re mount it in windows and then re hook up to unraid ... but who knows nothings perfect.. and its frustrating i tell ya

@JonathanM ok ill give that a try.... as it is frustrating... i never knew this about volumes here i thought safe remove usb in the bottom right... or just a normal shut down would shut down normally... never knew this.. learn something new everyday... ill give it a shot 🙂

@bonienl how can i run say PWM4 as a command line.. i noticed either fan speed plugin has a bug or 6.11.5 12.x has a bug in it
if i set pwm4 fan speeds to turn off at certain temperature.. It works.. but as soon as i reboot... it keeps the fans running... at low speed it doesnt turn them off.. i have to uncheck and check the exclude nvme and click Apply to get it to shut off the Fans...
how can i run the Pwm4 (Apply) force it in the Go file so in the go file it will force the apply setting of Pwm4 so it will force the fans to turn off like they supposed to... as i only have 2 array diskes and 1 nvme drive on my backup server.. it all worked in past on 6.9

@bonienl i had a suggestion couple years ago but still like to see it for the System Fan
an option to label each PWM to give it a real Name thats linked to FAN Airflow on the Dashboard page... in past i edited the Dashboard page and renamed FAN0 FAN1 FAN2 etc but i forgotten
it be nice if we can Label like PWM1 , Label or friendly name be like CPU Fan
and then on the Dashboard it would show up instead of FAN1 it show up as CPU Fan.. so it be easier to see what is what..

ya i did the -n too that produces the same error
i guess wen i did the ntfsfix -n /dev/sdx or without the - n it fixed it i was able to copy
is there a way script it so the script reads whatever the disk/by-id is and convert it to the /dev/sdX
i found that the /by-label worked it checked the disk1 and a3.. but some reason disk 2 will not show up under by-label
hmm so i might be stuck using windows before i shove in unraid or the vm...
hopefully i can get the ntfsfix to work i asked in the general form if possible someone else knew work arounds or plugins...
but i just dont understand why windows corrupts the drive when i shut down i shut down normally and then unplug the drive or i click the Safe unplug usb and then i unplug and next time i plug in unraid its corrupt... its messed...
ill keep playing i guess.

so i having issues... everytime i use windows on my ntfs drive and i shut down properly.. and when i shove into unraid and mount i always get told its unclean.. and when i try to copy to the drive its always read only..
so normally i have to shove backinto a windows machine or a windows VM run check disk to fix it before i can use in unraid
i tried this NTFSFIX but it gives me issues and then tells me
i cant seem to do it by "BY-ID" only by /DEV/SD01 but since each time you plug in you get a different SDx or whatever i trying to repair by BY ID but its not working

what i wanna do is
each time i plug the external hard drives in in a script it will do a windows check disk repair then ill have it mount the drive and copy files to the external hard drive.. since each time i plug into windows and shut down properly unraid tells me i didnt shut down and it puts the hard drive in read only mode
is there an unraid plugin that fix's ntfs drives so you can call the plugin to scan the drives

NTFS partition /dev/disk/by-label/Music_Drive_1 was processed successfully.but my music drive 2 the one always having issues with this windows corrupt isnt showing up
just 1 and 3.. so i powered off all 3 drives.. only turned on 2 and 3
and only 3 shows up... i did it to simulate and unplug re plug in... but i can mount and view files but doesnt show up and cant do ntfsfix.. so i guess i need to do a reboot?

ok so i still cant seem to get it to work
ntfsfix /dev/disk/by-id/ata-WDC_WD6003FFBX-68MU3N0_V9J4LJ1L while the disk is unmounted.. is there a different way?
and why does the error say use chkdsk is it referencing windows? or a plugin you install in unraid?

i turned on the log deleted files... how long does it take to show up? as i just added a bunch of files and hit the delete....
