Ok ill give the Docker version of Emby a shot. Im still trying to learn on setting up dockers as i would like to ensure that Emby would have enough cores for transcoding when needed. I know i will lose the IPMI function the X7DBE has but i will be okay with it.

Currently i have unRAID 6.2.2 running inside a SM 846 Chassis with the X7DBE motherboard using dual Xeon E5405 cpu's. Its running fine but i am thinking of swapping out the board and other innard guts for something a little more modern. Its not a production server yet so still testing things out. I have an i7 3930K system in the Asus X79 board with 32GB RAM with a GTX 660Ti GPU and running a test stick of the trial version, its fully compatible and supports both virtulization modes. I want to swap this system in to replace the SM board. I have the Perc H310 HBA that runs the 24 bay SAS backplane so only one cable for all the drives. I am sure the HBA is compatible with the x79 motherboard. Question is im certain performance will be stellar with the 3930k system as far as VM's go as i am really liking the VM feature of unRAID. Dockers should also run pretty well on it as well. I'm trying to consolidate some systems where i can eliminate the extra physical boxes (with exception to pfSense). With Emby even though they have a docker version i have debated whether using it in a VM or the docker. I wonder how well transcoding will do with the 3930k?

Look at the UD log. There will be a log entry on why is isn't mounting. Probably a permission (credentials?) issue. I clicked on the Log button on the right but nothing appears in the Unassigned Devices Log. I'm able to get into the share from my Windows PC, and the plugin did find the share after I put in my user and pass for that share (located on the Windows PC) but still doesn't mount. Did you let UD find the server and share, or did you manually enter it? When I click on 'Add Remote SMB Share', I choose SMB for IP protocol, and under IP/Host, the button below has 'Search for servers in WORKGROUP'. Thing though is that my Windows 2012 R2 server is a DC so it won't fall under the WORKGROUP category. I typed the server name in manually and after putting in the User and Pass I click the 'Load Shares' button and the share I was looking for comes up, which I then select and click 'Add'. But why it doesn't mount is still a mystery i'm trying to figure out. EDIT: Okay looks like I might have figured it out. Instead of putting in the server name I put in the IP address of the DC and put in my credentials....after adding the share it finally mounted. My DC is also running DHCP and DNS so I put in the IP pointing to the DNS server. Kinda weird, but the whole point was to see if the Emby Docker could see the mounted remote share when it comes to adding media to the library. Mostly experimental as I can transfer the files over to the unRAID server, but wanted to see how it would turn out.

I have a question, Where the Remote SMB/NFS section is, when I try to mount the remote share from an Windows server, the screen refreshes while the button still says 'Mount' so basically it didn't mount. Has anyone gotten their Remote SMB location to mount?

I'm having trouble in joining one of my unraid servers to the domain of a Windows 2012 R2 AD which is running on a physical box. The 1st DNS server IP on the unraid box is pointing to the DC box and the unraid server name appears when I look under the Computers folder in the Active Directory Users and Computers section. But each time I put in my AD credentials when the page refreshes it still says 'Not Joined'. I was hoping to be able to get the Emby Docker to see the shares on the Windows box but can't get it to work. Of course I can easily see the shares on the unraid box itself if I transfer the files over but that's it. Most of the posts I've looked at searching are much older posts involving older versions. Anyone been able to successfully join the domain in 6.2.2?

Hmm....I am still learning my way around on the docker templates....I will keep working with it.

I recently am testing out the Emby Server docker on unRAID 6.2.2 and so far working great which may change my mind about building a separate Emby server box. However, I have all of my media and movies stored on another server that's running Windows Server 2012 R2 and I can't seem to add the media to the library from the Windows server. I don't have any media transferred to the unraid box just yet as I am still testing things out before transferring any data. Has anyone been able to add to their libraries from a server other than unRAID? I have tried typing in the UNC path,, even the IP address to the folder and nothing of course shows up under Network. Permissions have been granted so every other PC including another Windows server can see the shares no problem. Any help regarding this?

I've taken some time to read about how the new version of unRAID has VM and Docker support. I am in the middle of possibly planning some new builds, but I am a bit confused on the new features of unRAID, especially using Dockers. I read that there's a docker for Emby, but I am not sure how Dockers work. I contemplated building a dedicated Emby server with Win 7 on bare metal hardware since I have an AsRock H61M board with the i5 2500 (no 'K') and 16GB RAM that's been lying around and want to put it back to use. The other thing is I recently built a new Server 2012 R2 machine and made the new DC in my home network. I thought on building another server machine and make that a secondary DC for backup and replication purposes. However, my question is whether it will be wise to create the secondary DC in the VM or just better to build it in actual physical hardware, which was my first choice. In addition, when using VM with unRAID, say I installed Windows 7 in the VM running Emby Server....I have no need to connect a physical mouse and keyboard to the machine since I will only access the VM via RDP in Windows for maintenance and adjustments. Plus, I am running older SuperMicro hardware in the 846 chassis that supports virtualization, so I am not sure whether more modern hardware is needed to use the VM features unRAID has. I am not new to VMs as I have used ESXi and VirtualBox without issue. If I can get a little understanding on how Dockers work and installing the apps that you can use that would be great. So far some google searching didn't reveal much info about them other than the technicalities.

It's been a long while since I posted but, I cannot seem to find the download link for the latest version as its not on the download page....I was planning to upgrade my system which was running version 5.0.5 with the Pro key.

I have a question regarding the 4U SC846 chassis I recently gotten last week. Can anyone tell me what the proper mounting rail kit is for the 4U chassis? I had picked up the rail kit which was MCP-290-00058-0N, but I have a feeling its the wrong set. I believe the MCP-290-00057-0N is the correct one but I need to be sure. Does anyone have a pic of these rails mounted to the chassis? Thanks!

Looks great! Did you use a labeler to label the hard drives? If so what kind is it. May look into one to label my drives with. Plus, I use a card reader with my server OS as well, so in the rare case the reader itself fails, then the flash card itself will still be intact with a newer reader.

I agree, but it would make sense to preclear the new disk that will be replacing the existing one first, no?
