Ok, I got the split level thing down. For the move I would do something like this? mv /mnt/disk1/media/TV Shows/NCIS/* /mnt/disk1/TV_Shows/ And that would move everything to the new share? Would I have to do this for each disk and on each show? What about any previous seasons that may be split across multiple disks already? That's why I was wondering if it would just be easier to make the new share and then cut and paste it from one share to other so the files all get in the correct place. Thanks!

What do you mean by go disk by disk and move? Do I browse each disk on my server and move them so all the files in the movies folders and seasons are on the same disk? I have 6 disks (1 of them is a parity) and my movies and tv shows are both split out on all 5 disks.

Hi, I currently have a share called media that is setup that goes media>movies/TV shows>movie folder/series folder I want to set a separate share for each so I have movies>movie folder with a split level of 2 so everything in the movie folder is on the same disk For TV shows it would tv>series folder>season folder with a split level of 3 so that each season is on the same disk. First, do I have the proper split level? If I cut the files and paste them in the new share will they be removed as soon as they are copied? For example, lets say I have 10 files that are each 5GB. When I cut and paste that file to the new share as soon the the first 5GB file is copied will it be removed from the old media share? I am just wondering if I can copy them all at once or if I will have to make sure I have enough free space first. Thanks!

Hi all, I recently ran into an issue with my CPU/Motherboard where my computers boots but I can't get any video or network connection. I believe the issue is either with my CPU or motherboard but I figured I would just replace the both of them. I had: AMD Sempron 145 Sargas Single-Core 2.8GHz ASRock 880GM-LE. I use it just as a file server now so low power is good. I was thinking of setting up OpenVPN on it sometime too. It looks like there are some good low power dual core processors now such as Intel Celeron G1840. Does anyone have any recommendations? Thanks so much!

I typed in powerdown earlier and it did shutdown my server so I am able to do that. I'm not sure where to go next now though.

Hi, My unRaid server is running 5.0.5 with Dynamix and has suddenly stopped allowing me to connect to it. I was able to connect/browse to it fine the other day and when I booted it up today I am unable to connect. I made no changes to anything in unRaid. I thought it was Microsoft Security Essentials because there was just an update for that but I tried uninstalling it and still nothing. I can ping/telnet but can not access it through the Web GUI or Windows Explorer. I am using Windows 7 64 bit on both computers. Any idea what is wrong? Thanks!

I've had the drive in there for a little bit (before one of the drives hit the 1.5TB used) so I think it should be using it now. I checked there and that looks like it was the problem! Disk 3 wasn't added. I thought I just had to add it under the individual shares and not there. It's showing up with the right size now so I'm sure it will start putting files there now. I recently added a new hard drive to my array and for some reason unRaid is not using it. Here are screenshots of my setup: As you can see disk 3 is not being used, even when I add more files. In my shares it's not showing the space as being there either. As you can see in the third image I do have the disk included. Any idea what is wrong?

I'm not quite sure what you're asking. But I'll answer what I think you're asking. I have to admin (read/write) account. The default root account and one called "admin". I use the admin account on my windows 7 machine to do everything. I only use root when I log into the web interface. Initially admin wasn't working properly until I did the New Perms utility and then it started working. Thanks for response!

Hi, when I try to delete certain files I get the error "The action cannot be completed because the file is open in another program". I don't have the file open and even try doing it right once the server boots up. I've had this error for a little while have never gotten it to work. It just randomly happened one day and haven't been able to get it to work since then. I was able to delete some of the files where these 'locked' ones are just fine. I did not do any upgrades that would have caused this. I just recently tried updating from the old 5 beta to the RC to see if that would fix it and it did not. Is there a reason why I am getting this error that can be solved? Would a parity check fix anything since I haven't done one in about a year? I think it is also playing a role with another issue I have with Ember Media Manager (an XBMC application used to save nfo and images) not being able to save files to one of my folders. I am able to save files to TV Shows folder but not my Movies folder (through Ember Media Manager only, I can still drag and drop files to the server). Both of those files are in the same share but different folders. I've tried deleting Windows credentials and that does nothing. Same thing with new permissions. Syslog is attached.
