  1. Thank you for the assistance. I managed to pinpoint the issue over the weekend. While attempting to access the flash drive logs, the system repeatedly shut down. This led me to suspect the PSU as the likely culprit. Fortunately, I had a spare PSU on hand, so I swapped them out. However, even after the swap, the system booted up momentarily before shutting down again. This prompted me to shift my focus to building a replacement system, as my aging i5 650 was showing signs of wear. I had been waiting on a secondary PSU for the replacement build, but I decided to forego that and instead transferred the flash drive contents to the new board. I then installed the old drives into the new case and powered it on. To my delight, the Unraid system sprang to life seamlessly – it's truly a marvel. Now, with everything up and running smoothly, my perfectionist tendencies have me pondering one final question: how can I eliminate these lingering errors from the old system? They stem from power cable issues, which were part of the motivation for the new build. Once again, thank you all for your invaluable assistance throughout this process. The fancy magic of Unraid never ceases to amaze me.
  2. here is my scheduled settings - Im not sure how to get into the flash drive logs - thanks again for your help

  5. Hey everyone, just scored this for $50! I'm excited because I'm planning to use it to build my second Unraid box. It's got a S2400SC2 server board with 2 Xeon E5-2400 processors, along with 16GB of RAM, but I have enough spare memory to max it out. I also want to add my 1060 GPU to it. Just wondering if this setup is doable or if I might encounter any foreseeable issues. Thanks in advance for the support!
  6. thank you for all you help I figured it out, i was also having problems the the array stopping seems to be a random issue with build 6.12.2 - Data rebuild is in the works

  10. Thank you everything Server has returned to normal - last question I hope so to replace the parity with a larger drive is it just the same as Stop the array. Remove the Parity disk form the array. install new larger Parity disk assign the disk. Start the array to begin rebuilding. Wait for the rebuild to complete.
  11. thank you, I have a spare 3tb replacement so to get this back up and running I would Stop the array. Remove the dsabled disk form the array. Start the array so it will be registered as missing. Stop the array. install new disk assign the disk. Start the array to begin rebuilding. Wait for the rebuild to complete. is this correct? thank you
  12. also I was planning on enlarging my parity drive - after reading it looks as if I should do this first, before attempting to repair the red x drive - is this correct and is it as simple as changing out parity drive for larger one
  13. can anyone tell if the drive is bad and needs replacing or was it the controller
  14. Ok so installed new controller and have upgraded to newest version of unraid everything seems to be working - how do I fix the red X issue on drive 4 thanks for the help server-diagnostics-20220810-1921.zip server-smart-20220810-1922.zip

  17. thank you, so I ordered this - I have yet to touch my server since I dont want it to crap out - I have also ordered an HGST Ultrastar (HUS726060ALE610) 6TB as while I'm doing all this upgrading I would like to upgrade my Parity drive to 6tb as I understand this will allow me to increase my allottable drive size in the array. sorry if this is bothersome but I do apricate your help thanks Ill let you know when the controller arrives - in the mean time should I just leave the server running , spin down the drives, or stop the array or leave well enough alone until the controller arrives
  18. any recomendations for a cheap controller that can handle 8 drives
  19. is there a new link with directions to either replace the existing hard drive or try to see if it comes back online - it looks like this has happened before to me and someone posted a link with instructions but the old link give a 404 error now
  20. yes the controller is the common link but it looks like the cache is fine from dashboard - should I fix the drive first and then upgrade to new version of unraid or upgrade first and then fix drive its been a few years since I built this thing and have forgot a ton

  22. So as stated I have a red x on drive 4 of a 5 device array - I have a replacement drive ready if needed but am not sure how to proceed - do I just stop the array - then power down the server - replace questionable drive with new drive - then reboot and let unraid do its job or is there more to it? thank you in advance for all your help server-smart-20220804-1129.zip
