Check these container's docs, several maintainers have been changing repos lately

I now have two containers that are displaying Not Available on the version. Both containers still appear to be using their previously defined repo too. Anything else that can help resolve this? I am on 6.12.6, so the patch is not an option either.

I would start by running memtest.

memtest found 2 of the 4 sticks had errors. Pulled those for now and started a RMA request with G.Skill. Memtest passed on the two sticks I left in too.

I moved my system share and appdata into the same nvme pool. Everything started up with no issues. Historically the docker image would throw errors when on the nvme pool. No errors on the SSD pool or the array. I also added the 'nvme_core.default...' to my default boot, from this post.

Time will tell at this point. Thank you @JorgeB for your assistance.

Very unlikely this is a device problem.

Assuming 'device' could be as broad as hardware, and as in the nvme devices? How can I go about troubleshooting this more? Nothing has changed in the system for a couple of years. Except now I have the latest BIOS and still have the same issue. Oh, and I did swap out my pre-failing disk 5. The data rebuild is 90% complete. But I can't see how that would be an issue.

I have 2 cache pools. NVMe and SSD. When the docker image is on the NVMe pool, along with my appdata, it corrupts. I have been using /mnt/user/system/docker/ as the path for the image. And of course when I move it, I stop the services. Last night, when I recreated the image again, I used /mnt/s-cache/system/docker instead. Putting the image on the SSD cache. The appdata is still at /mnt/user/appdata/ with the appdata share using the cache as preferred and array as backup.

I have not had any errors since starting the dockers last night, but my Plex server UI did timeout and required a restart of the docker. This is how it started when I first began to notice corruption. This are the last errors.

  4. I see the speed set to 3200MT in the meminfo.txt file, but I couldn't find where you saw that it should be 2666.

EDIT: I changed my RAM speed to auto and verified in the bios that it was 2666. I then erased/re-created both my cache pools. After mover finished moving things back to my nvme cache pool, it still corrupted part way through starting dockers. How can I tell why/what is corrupting this?

  5. A couple of days ago my Plex server started to stop responding. A restart would bring it back for roughly 25 hours before it would go down again. I enabled debug logging, but saw nothing out of the ordinary. I decided to delete the docker and recreate it. The docker compose failed with "Failed to create btrfs snapshot: input/output error", leading me to believe this is a corrupt docker image. I deleted/recreated my docker image and re-downloaded all the dockers. After about the 10th image starting up, I started getting loop2 WRITE errors again. I'm in the process of moving things off my NVME cache pool, but I'm at a loss for where the image corruption could be coming from. A short SELF test of each NVME shows 0 errors. The Attributes are not telling me much either. I do have a pre-failing disk 5, which I have the replacement sitting here on my desk. But I cannot see how disk 5 would be related to my docker image corrupting so quickly after recreating it. Am I missing anything? Or could my NVME drive(s) be failing?

EDIT: I am running the extended tests rn. I also see the zfs pool is showing an error. Anyway to dig into that deeper to know which drive is bad? Or are both having issues?

Same here. This started a few days ago for me. It's not local cache as I get the same issue while in Incognito mode. I did upgrade from 6.12.3 to 6.12.4 three days ago, but I feel like this plugin worked after the upgrade. But I could be mistaken. And unlike @yogy, I'm still getting it. Nothing is appearing within my logs either.

EDIT: Does not appear to be related to the 6.12.4 upgrade. I just upgraded my secondary unraid and it is still scanning, plus it's adding the line Fix Common Things to the log.

Sep 14 10:55:44 unRAID root: Fix Common Problems Version 2023.07.29

EDITED EDIT: A reboot appears to have resolved the issue. Time will tell now. As mentioned before, I don't recall seeing the issue immediately after the upgrade and running this plugin is something I do right after an upgrade. But there could be a number of factors involved. I'm also trying to move VM's off my cache pool to reformat it and was getting errors with that. Or the move was showing a state of completion at over 120%.

  7. Just upgraded from 6.12.3 to 6.12.4 and ran into this issue.

EDIT: Probably stating the obvious. Yesterday I stopped and restarted the array and both the Docker and VM services started up. Today I stopped the VM services and was unable restart it. So once it's stopped, it's stopped. Until you restart the array or possibly stop the dockers and then start them up in reverse order. I have not tested this latter part yet.

  8. I recently shut down my Docker and VM services, transferred everything to my array and reformatted my cache pools (1 NVMe and 1 SSD) from btrfs to zfs. Afterwards I moved everything back and restarted the services. I started getting weird things when the docker images would update and turns out there was some corruption in the docker image. I was getting /loop3/ error messages. I deleted and recreated the docker image and everything is fine there. However my VM machines will operate fine for 30 seconds or so and then not respond for 30 seconds or so. Then catch up with the clicks/commands I was trying to run and become non-responsive again. I have updated the Virtio drivers, and even completely uninstalled and reinstalled them within the VMs. No difference. The strange thing, if I build a brand new VM, there are no issues. No pausing, no lag.

Any idea what could be the cause. I do have the LIBVIRT ERROR: VIRNETSOCKETREADWIRE:1791 : END OF FILE WHILE READING DATA: INPUT/OUTPUT ERROR in my logs, but don't believe this is related. I am also not seeing any /loop2/ error messages, so I don't think my libvirt file has corruption. Plus any new VMs run fine.

I will post a diag file here as soon as I can. I have a 41GB syslog.1 log file from the moving of the data off my cache pools. I temporarily enabled the mover logging so I could monitor the process. I failed to delete this syslog file before downloading a new diag file.

  9. I have two 16 GB USB sticks, from the same vendor, that I'm trying to copy files to. I insert the first stick and UD sees it as 'sdk'. As soon as I insert the second stick, which is seen as 'sdl', the previous one isn't visible anymore to mount, only the second stick. In the image, both sticks are plugged in, but only sdl is shown. At the end of the log, after sdl is inserted, there is an error about getting the ID of sdk. Is this because they are the same manufacturer?

You have a browser add on or extension that is interfering with the communication and high jacking the responses from CA.

It has to do with family photography.

Nothing I can do to fix that when it's injecting additional code into a response. Disable or uninstall the offending add on or use incognito mode

Thanks. That's not a browser plugin but is my firewall. Odd, and not odd, that the remote unRAID, that I'm accessing over a site to site tunnel, is trying to do something local to me. When my local browser accesses the remote Apps page, what is my local browser trying to access? It is fetching the data like a proxy to the unRAID server?

I tried connecting through unRAID Connect and I'm getting the same errors. I can't quite wrap my head around why my local firewall is giving an error on the remote server.

EDIT: It has something to do with HTTPS inspection at the firewall. There are a number of URLs/Domains that I pulled from that text. Is github where the content is pulled from? I'm still looking through the logs (active and historical) to see where this is breaking.

RESOLVED: Since the unRAID was in a remote site, and I was using SSL to communicate with it, the HTTPS inspection in the firewall itself was the problem. Not the remote unRAID trying to proxy. I added an exclusion to bypass SSL inspection based on the destination of my remote unraid and it resolved the issue.

  11. My remote unRAID server had been lacking a little attention since I had lost my remote control. I now have it restored and needed to install a new plugin but I am getting a similar "Something seriously went wrong" message. I've tried within Incognito, hard refreshing my browser, and even uninstalling and reinstall the CA app. I have tried within Chrome and Edge. Both show the same error. The only recent change, aside from a few plugin updates, is I changed my local IP address. But I can't see how that would be an issue.

It downloads an a vDisk image, verifies it with a checksum before creating a vm template and installing the VM for you. What you choose in the container varaibles will reflect to the vm. For most people these dont need to be changed from the defaults. If you need to change the locations in the container this is what each will do. VM Share on Server: This should be set to your VM share - default on Unraid is /mnt/user/domains - the vm will be installed here RetroNAS data share This should point to a share you want RetronNAS to use. All your roms etc will be here. Best have an empty share and move what you need there later. default is retronas. The container will connect the VM using virtiofs to this share. So the share doent have to be "exported" by Unraid for retroNAS to use it (more secure) Name to call VM: Easy -- The name you want the VM to be called default id RetroNAS but you can change it The container then will do the rest. It will create an xml file for the vm based on the above and install the vm straight into the server. So once run goto the VMs tab and you will see it there. Start it up and confiure retronas in vnc window and configure (see my video how) default username and password is retronas (yes you can change them later! ) After logging in type retronas to configure your RetroNAS server. Have fun :) The container doesnt need to be kept running. It is just an install tool. The container has no webUI so to see what its doing view the container log. ** This container cant translate the location of an unassigned disk across to the vm template. So all locations choosen must be on the array or pool device.

<div class='homespotlightIconArea ca_center''>
<img class='spotlightIcon' Just get the job done with Unmanic. - Support for VAAPI/QSV/NVIDIA NVENC for hardware accelerated encoding. - Schedule file scans at set intervals. - Configure inotify file monitors for your libraries. - Link with other installations to share in distributed processing of tasks. These other installations may be on: - This same Unraid server - A LAN connected PC (including across subnets) - A Internet connected PC behind a basic auth proxy - Linux, MacOS, Windows - x86, Armv7, Arm64 --- ## Advanced Configuration: ### LIMIT CPU USE: 1) Toggle this Docker Container template editor to "Advanced View". 2) In the "Extra Parameters" field, add "--cpus='1'". This value depends on the number of cores available to the container. To limit to 50%, set this value to 0.5 * n cores. If you have 2 cores available to this container, "--cpus='.5'" will equal 25% of that available CPU resources. To limit the CPU cores available to the continer, use "CPU Pinning" ### LIMIT RAM ALLOCATION: 1) Toggle this Docker Container template editor to "Advanced View". 2) In the "Extra Parameters" field, add "--memory='1g'". Unmanic can use on average around 100Mib - 500 Mib of RAM for various Disk IO tasks. Even though limiting RAM is unnecessary as Unmanic should not ever need more that 1GB RAM it is good practice to do so. Note: If you set your Cache Directory path to a tmpfs or RAM, limiting your memory allocation will affect the available RAM for the cache volume. ### NVIDIA GPU USE (NVDEC/NVENC): 1) Install the Nvidia-Driver plugin. 2) Toggle this Docker Container template editor to "Advanced View". 3) In the "Extra Parameters" field, add "--runtime=nvidia". 4) Expand the template "Show more settings..." section. 5) In the "NVIDIA_VISIBLE_DEVICES" variable, copy your GPU UUID (can be found in the Unraid Nvidia Plugin) ### INTEL GPU USE (QSV/VAAPI): 1) Install the Intel-GPU-TOP plugin. 2) Toggle this Docker Container template editor to "Advanced View". 3) In the "Extra Parameters" field, add "--device=/dev/dri". ### AMD GPU USE (VAAPI): 1) Install the Radeon-TOP plugin. 2) Toggle this Docker Container template editor to "Advanced View". 3) In the "Extra Parameters" field, add "--device=/dev/dri".

<div class='homespotlightIconArea ca_center''>

Jan 2023

Top Trending Apps

Check out these up and coming apps SHOW MORE

Info

Support
<div class='actionsButton' data-pluginURL='' data-languagePack='' onclick=popupInstallXML('/tmp/community.applications/tempFiles/templates-community-apps/IBRACORPsRepository/pomerium-Pomerium-latest.xml','default','','["1443","180","5443"]');>Install

Pomerium

IBRACORP's Repository

Productivity

Pomerium is an identity-aware proxy that enables secure access to internal applications. I'd be surprised if that ends up being your issue

    Likewise.

I reviewed my logs from the time I took my firewall offline for the update to when it returned, and all the way through the end of the logs. Nothing seems to indicate why it went offline and stopped knowing how to get to the gateway. In my last docker service restart I changed my "Host access to custom networks:" from enabled to disabled and it appears to have removed two routes from the table. 10.15.0.0/25 and 10.15.0.128/25 are no longer listed. I don't see how these would affect the server itself from getting to its gateway though. But possibly related since the stopping of the docker service restored the traffic flow?

  13. My server lost its capability to egress out again tonight. I think I've narrowed it down, but I don't know why. I upgraded my firewall software today so the server was without internet access for about 45 minutes. I cannot sign into the My Server plugin. Any plugin or docker update checks fail, but I can successfully access my reverse proxy and I have active external plex streams going on. A simple reboot will resolve this but is there another way that I can/should be restarting the network services? Any idea why the server just stops getting out after my firewall is down for a little bit?

Why would a traceroute from the server start and stop with itself?

    image.png.ba9f9eff661faa8a838718f1f0cac96b.png

Is the default route listed as a FQDN the issue? It is not defined this way within my settings.

  14. In the syslog log, I see

    Dec 1 22:36:50 unRAID kernel: traps: PMS GTP[26851] general protection fault ip:153c257137d0 sp:153c1622f348 error:0 in ld-musl-x86_64.so.1[153c25703000+53000]

The " err" before this was in regards to the VM Backup plugin not connecting to my Synology NAS in a timely fashion. But I don't think the blocked traffic is related to this fault. Unless it takes a few days to manifest. Continuing looking at the syslog, the first Fix Common Problems error I see if Dec 7th, where it couldn't communicate with github. So between the 1st and 6th, everything was fine. Somewhere on the 7th, or night of the 6th, things went South

The only other "error" in the logs, during and after the egress traffic being blocked is a time sync error.

unRAID ntpd[1424]: kernel reports TIME_ERROR: 0x41: Clock Unsynchronized

  15. Twice now my unRAID server starts acting odd. I notice it when all my Dockers show that Unavailable version notice instead. If I try to ping to 1.1.1.1 or anything beyond my firewall, they fail. Curls outbound fail to connect as well. Looking at my firewall logs, everything from the server is being broadcast to 10.15.0.255 over nbdatagram (UDP/138). I can ping anything internally no problem. The only thing I have found to resolve this is to reboot my unraid. I don't want to get into the habit of weekly reboots. Is there anything within the attached diags reports that pinpoint the issue?

Diag ending in 904 is *during* the issue.

Diag ending in 913 is *after* the reboot and things are working. And my firewall logs show traffic egressing over all the expected ports.

  16. I moved my appdata and system data off to the array and my nvme drive still had 155 GB being reported in use. Calculate space showed 800k, which there was some lingering appdata from my Plex server. Subtitles, meta data, etc.

I ultimately stopped the array, removed the nmve drives from the pool, restarted the array, stopped it again, adding the drives back to the pool, and restarted the array again. 3.5 MB was now reported in use. As expected with nothing on it. Still a mystery what was taking up the ~155 GB. The usage would change over time, as you can see through this thread.
