  1. Thanks for the update today. Appreciate also, all of the work on this project. Thanks Thanks Thanks, G3
  2. Hello, I have been using my urbackup for a few years now, works great overall. BUT every now and then I want to use the "cleanup" command and the "remove-unknown" command from the docker terminal.... and I get a lot of ERROR messages like "ERROR: Error deleting file '[the filename and path]"... and ERROR: No permission to access "[filename and path]".... thousands of them... These are either files I am trying to clean up (like files for a computer that we are no longer backing up anymore that has been removed from urbackup) or when trying to remove "unknown" files that are orphan files. I am using urbackup in an unraid docker.. pretty normal setup. I have it running with the highest priveledge and also "read and write" access to the unraid share... Why am I getting these errors and how to I correct the permissions so that unraid can clean itself? Thanks in advance, George
  3. Does anyone know of any updates on this project and/or on the company that purchased this software.. do they have any updates or plans to share?
  4. Thank you very much for the help. I need to schedule some after hours maintenance and replace things. I am thinking of replacing the sata cable first... then maybe the sata pcie card that has 4 ports on it if the problem persists. maybe both at the same time... since its a production server.... oh the joy.... George
  5. Thank you. I have a question. I do not know how to tie atat10.00 to which Sata port or piece of hardware. I do have a multiple port sata card.. and a total of 7 disks in this thing including two cache drives.. How can I figure this out? Thank you for finding this. SIncerely, George Miller
  6. NEW ERRORS Everything was clean for a few days after the fix, but now I am seeing these (below) error starting to creep in. Maybe there are better clues in this screen shot. We have had no power failures (unraid system is on a huge UPS), no force stoppings, no updates, HD's are reporting good within unraid, no improper shutdowns either ( always shutdown this email system from the SSH terminal). Thanks (in advance too) to everyone looking at this with me. I appreciate your help. any more ideas?
  7. To sum it up, we are up and running again which is good, HOWEVER these errors, shown at the beginning of the post that were showing up on the VM VNC session of this ubuntu server need to be researched, so I can prevent it from happening again. If anyone has any insight as to what could cause them, PLEASE let me know and thanks in advance for your help. Sincerely, GTM
  8. Then I followed the article and performed the FSCK as described, it did the repair of the /dev/mapper/zimbramail--vg-root partition, I pressed yes through the prompts, it did the repairs, then I typed in "reboot" when it was complete and it came back up. After reading this similar problem on the web: On boot up, I logged in and did a df -h command.. to see if any partititions on the disk were full.... I don't see a sector called "boot".. but I may not know what I am looking at.. do you think disk space has anything to do with this? It doesn't look like it to me, but I could be wrong. Please let me know what you think and thank you in advance for your help.
  9. To update the situation, I found this article: https://ostechnix.com/how-to-fix-busybox-initramfs-error-on-ubuntu/ I then at the last prompt of the last screenshot (above) typed in "exit" and pressed enter.. and got this:
  10. Thanks, Here is the diagnostics I just now downloaded. server-vm-diagnostics-20220329-1911.zip
  11. Need help asap. production unit. willing to pay for support. attaching screen shots of vnc ssh session. Ubuntu server has been running fine for months as a VM, now wont boot up - production unit. need help fixing.
  12. OK, this may have something to do with it, OR NOT..... but I have no idea how to fix it... Fix Common Problems says that my /var/log is getting full (currently 100 % used) I am attaching the diagnostics file, was able to download it today (thanks for the reboot suggestion) any and all help is appreciated. Thanks prevnas2-diagnostics-20210101-1928.zip
  13. The diagnostic download will not work. I tried a couple of times and gave it over an hour.
  14. Plugins Page not loading when I click on the tab. All the other pages seem to load fine, but occasionally the "docker" page takes along time to load too. sometimes Plugins Page loads if I leave it alone for a few hours, sometimes not. Any thoughts on how I can fix it without messing anything up? I have one VM on the box, and a bunch of shares, all working fine. Thanks in advance for your help. I also tried to download diagnostics.. its been about 12 minutes.. and it hasn't downloaded as of yet. If it finishes, I will attach it below. Thank you 🙂
  15. Hey Johnnie, Thanks for the fix. I know it would have worked worked because it booted up fine using your suggestion.. after I found the cause of the failure. I did a MEMTEST on the ram and wow.. nothing but red scrolling by. Turned out the bios forgot the memory speed setting and caused things to go bazerk and that is why I was getting this error in this situation. I had 3200 speed ddr4 ram in stalled, and the bios was set to 2400. After the correction memtest passed and it booted right up. Thanks for the quick reply as well. Had it been the drive and not the memory, I'm confident that what you suggested would have worked and I am going to file it away in my tool box too. Sincerely, George
  16. Hello, I have this new production system, so like everything it seems, I’d need help quickly if possible. Anyway. Now when I boot up the system, I get to the blue menu selection screen just fine, it counts down and when it tries to normally boot into UnRaid, I quickly get… ===================== Loading /bzimage… ok Loading /bzroot… ok LZMA data is corrupt -- System halted ===================== One of the last things I did that lead up to this point was make a VM using ubuntu. I did not have the disk drive settings or the chipset set to (what I now think as a possibility) Correctly. I had Q35 instead of the i440, then I had the vdisk bus to VirtIO, INSTEAD of the SATA. I booted the VM and went into the ubuntu setup and installation… it was showing progress bars and writing to the disk, THEN the entire unraid machine locked up hard. Now, after powering it off and back on (and numerous reboots after that) I have the LZMA Data Corrupt message every time. I tried what was suggested in this post: https://forums.unraid.net/topic/58750-solved-lzma-data-corrupt/ It didn’t help. Anny suggestions on how to fix this? Thanks in advance for your help. Sincerely, George
  17. I just wanted to say THANK YOU love YOUR urbackup on my unraid! Works great!
  18. Hey Ed, No idea what is going on with your particular situation, but even though different, it has a similarity. I think the problem is the upkeep of the docker containers. I gave up on the PHP problem with nextcloud docker, and installed nextcloud onto a virtual machine within unraid via an Ubuntu server dedicated to serving nextcloud. I used the chris titus nextcloud video on youtube which uses a snap install, along with mapped a share on the unraid aray where the nextcloud-ubuntu could store the files. its working great and I don't have to worry about unraid bumping the PHP up to high out of reach of my current docker container any more. THAT SUCKED and who ever is in charge of the containers (keeping things compatible) should have put a PHP version in the container or something like that to prevent incompatibilities like that. if you need any pointers on how to do what I was able to accomplish, let me know. george dot t dot miller at preventionit dot com is my email addy. keep smiling and good luck, George
  19. I have had Nextcloud running for a good 8 months. The other day it stopped working, the apps wouldnt connect. I cannot bring up the web-gui either. I started looking at the logs withing the dockers of unraid and the maria db is full of these: 190802 07:57:50 mysqld_safe Starting mysqld daemon with databases from /config/databases 190802 07:57:51 mysqld_safe Logging to syslog. 190802 07:57:51 mysqld_safe Starting mysqld daemon with databases from /config/databases 190802 07:57:56 mysqld_safe Logging to syslog. 190802 07:57:56 mysqld_safe Starting mysqld daemon with databases from /config/databases 190802 07:57:57 mysqld_safe Logging to syslog. 190802 07:57:57 mysqld_safe Starting mysqld daemon with databases from /config/databases 190802 07:57:58 mysqld_safe Logging to syslog. 190802 07:57:58 mysqld_safe Starting mysqld daemon with databases from /config/databases 190802 07:58:03 mysqld_safe Logging to syslog. 190802 07:58:03 mysqld_safe Starting mysqld daemon with databases from /config/databases 190802 07:58:04 mysqld_safe Logging to syslog. 190802 07:58:04 mysqld_safe Starting mysqld daemon with databases from /config/databases over and over, and the nextcloud log has this: ------------------------------------- _ () | | ___ _ __ | | / __| | | / \ | | \__ \ | | | () | |_| |___/ |_| \__/ Brought to you by linuxserver.io We gratefully accept donations at: https://www.linuxserver.io/donate/ ------------------------------------- GID/UID ------------------------------------- User uid: 99 User gid: 100 ------------------------------------- [cont-init.d] 10-adduser: exited 0. I restarted the containers, no improvement. I did notice that my 256 Gb SSD cache drive was mostly full and had 410Mb free.. so I invoked the Move Now and now have 215Gb free but stopping and restarting the containers still yields still doesnt help and the log files look the same. The system has a fair amount of data on it and I'd like to get it going without having to start over. Any help is greatly appreciated, Thanks, George
  20. I have other linux samba shares besides unraid (clearos, synology, freenas) and they all report correctly in multiple windows environments.
  21. ok, to prove the point.... I INITIALLY copied from my E: drive, as shown in the picture above TO the UNRAID, which reports less files and size than the original folder on the E: drive, so THEN ... JUST NOW I decided to copy the "Scotty Callan" FROM the NAS (depicted on the right side of the picture in the first post) TO my F: drive and then look at the properties of the new folder on the F: drive.. LOOK ... so it IS simply a difference in reported file size. Thanks for questioning that though, and for your input and effort to help.. it made me think and do the above test. So problem is still there and it IS a problem with the reported file size. Please help
  22. I agree. however... HOWEVER...some of the sub folders within this folder are larger in size than the main parent folder size. It doesn't make sense.
  23. When I copy a folder from my windows 10 machine to a shared SMB directory on unraid, the copy seems to go fine. In fact it does copy completely as I have manually gone in and compared all the files. HOWEVER when I go to the main folder, right click and select properties of the folder (a common practice to make sure the copy completed successfully and completely), the size of the folders on SMB verses on my PC are reporting to be drastically different. I am running unraid 6.6.1 and a windows 10 pro machine with all the latest updates. I found another post that talked about setting the allocation roundup size = 0 and also allocation roundup size = 4096, I tried those (stopped and started the array each time) but it didn't make a difference. I need help and appreciate your time. Sincerely, George Miller
