what if one already decided too remove the config for the new drive and now its showing as a "new device" and start is saying `Start will start Parity-Sync and/or Data-Rebuild.`

the drive has sadly been formatted.. what i mean by empty is theres no important data on it as of now so how can one replace the failed one with one that is already added to the array... the failed drive did populate as emulated and from what i could tell all data was there.. the problem is i dont have the funds for another disk atm i just added this new one im reffering too, can a new config accomplish this?

How can I replace that failed disk with an empty one that’s already part of the array. I just added it there’s no data on it but it is in fact part of the array now assuming I have to do a new config at this point? Since I stupidly added my only new drive already

Well when running a non correcting sync is when the errors happen so how does one assume it’s good?

Well I swapped it with a different tray location and started sync again just woke up to that same disk showing errors. Sounds to me like it’s time too replace that disk all 5 syncs I’ve tried have all been errors on that single disk.. am I safe too go ahead and take that drive out and assign a new blank one in it’s place and rebuild? Do I do a non correction sync?

Correct so if the non correcting check has 0 errors I then need to run a correcting check? Or am I good with just the non correcting check with 0 errors

If the next parity sync is fine, would u then run a parity correction pass? Or would you run more than one non correction sync?

So adding new disk won’t add to the party problem. That’s good to know yeah I’m not a fan of sas backplanes too breakout cables.. unfortunately that’s all I had to work with and up until now I’ve seen no issues. Are u suggesting this is NOT a bad drive and more 99% a bad connection? If party has errors again would you try a new slot or a new breakout cable

Reseated my breakout cables. Also cleaned some dust out of the machine. I don’t see anything obvious on the cables. Time too try a new non correction parity? Should I cancel the zeroing pass on the new drive I’m adding and prioritize parity?

i decided too upgrade my parity disk too a larger one so i can have larger disks in the array, i ran a non correcting check and im getting read errors on disk 5. can someone look into the diag and tell me if they think a correcting pass should be done, or what i should do next? poseidon-diagnostics-20230830-1754.zip

it keeps changing to "update" or is not up to date also showing this on the my server dashboard

ended up being a port forward issue or a dns resolver issue fixes: remove all port forwards turn off docker/vm set http:80 https:443 added myunraid.net to dns resolver in pfsense not completely sure witch one did the trick or if all did

unraid is refusing to update my usb to my servers via back.unraid.net i have tried the solutions ive seen floating around on here and still am not getting anywhere

@ljm42 has advised me too post a diag for someone too go through and see what is going on with my system, can’t get unraid to provision a SSL please any help would be greatly appreciated at this point poseidon-diagnostics-20221014-0449.zip

I am also having these issues, I’ve tried many different ports. And all of witch port checker say are open. But my servers still won’t connect

So I was able to get the cert to provision finally, anyone else runs into this and is running pfsense firewalls go to dns resolver and add this to the “custom” entry server: private-domain: "unraid.net" now I still am back to where I was, my servers will not allow remote access, and I have verified through port checker port 13850 is open witch is what I have both local and remote set too per the guide. Any help would be great at this point

I have set ssl to yes, changed https port to 13850, hit provision and it just refreshes the screen but doesn’t provision the cert

I have tried the way this guide is said. And still no luck.

I can’t get unraid to provision, I had trouble getting port forwarding to work correctly even when pfsense told me the port was open under port checker. So I decided to delete my CA cert and log out to refresh everything and now unraid won’t provision a cert poseidon-diagnostics-20221013-0455.zip

This is my openvpn from my router, I disconnected my duckdns server “remote access” also so I just checked I went from having 99 “files” last night today I’m down to 36 “files” I have asked the radarr community and they said “something other then radarr is deleting the file as said above in the screen shot. So something is happening

I have had my setup the same for years and just this past few days I lost all my media I took my server out of remote access changed all my passwords closed ports. Rechecked all my docker settings and last night I downloaded a few movies and today they did the same exact thing all my data “14tb” got deleted and now the few shows I added last night are gone can anyone help me figure this out? So I did some digging today, and I found that my root paths in sonarr and radarr were changed to data/movies and not set to data/Movies when u changed this back it asked if I wanted to “delete files” so I’m wondering if I’m unfortunately another victim and someone got into my containers as I did have them all running through a duckdns domain. I have disabled all remote access to my server, I am going to add a few movies tonight, and see if they get deleted if they do. Do you or anyone else suggest what else to check? Ps I also changed server password, and container passwords.
