Krusader has an integrated text file viewer and editor, which is very handy. This is the feature that made me state my question in the first place. VLC would definitely be too much, but simple document viewers are very useful when managing files. (I also installed mediainfo-gui into the container). Why not do all this natively with mounted network shares you ask? My Wifi sucks and when I'm on my laptop it's way smoother to use the containers in the browser than the native file manager.
Would it be possible to add a small and simple image viewer to this container? Zoomed in previews doesn't really do it.
Scratch that I just opened the container's shell and installed Gwenview
Hi all!
I want to mine some XMR (Monero). I do successfully with xmrig in a Windows VM. However I would like to mine without having to run a VM.
I got as far as installing and running a container from Dockerhub (this one: https://hub.docker.com/r/xmrig/xmrig/ there are so many more though, and I don't know how to choose and I am scared of opening to the door to malware, i.e. mining for someone else with a modified xmrig binary or something.).
However, it is an (too) old version of the mining software xmrig and I gave up when I wasn't able to enable huge pages (I guess it's not enabled in unRAID's kernel?). I also got errors from the pool.
Anyway, has anyone done this successfully and can give me some pointers? Maybe even running it directly on Slackware instead of Docker?
Thanks
Hi!
I wanted to preclear a disk but it just stays at "Starting..." forever (~6 hours now).
"View log" only has the following entries:
Jan 28 23:27:18 preclear_disk_sdb_4520: Command: /usr/local/emhttp/plugins/preclear.disk/script/preclear_disk.sh --notify 2 --frequency 3 --cycles 1 --no-prompt /dev/sdb
Jan 28 23:27:18 preclear_disk_sdb_4520: Preclear Disk Version: 0.8.3-beta
Jan 28 23:27:18 preclear_disk_sdb_4520: S.M.A.R.T. info type: default
Jan 28 23:27:18 preclear_disk_sdb_4520: S.M.A.R.T. attrs type: default
Am I too impatient?
Thanks!
Hi sorry for the late reply, I have been busy.
A package usable on unRAID would be great, thank you very much!
My hardware is Asus M4A78LT-M, Athlon II x2 240e CPU, 4GB RAM, two Seagate 2 TB drives and one WD 2 TB drive, do you need to know more? Oh and I'm running unRAID 4.7.
Thanks again!
Maybe I misunderstood, but the current version seems to be 13.37 and a detox Slackware package for that version seems to be available here: http://slackbuilds.org/repository/13.37/system/detox/
But as I said I have no idea how things are handled in Slackware land
Thanks a lot!
I have not yet tried it - SlackBuilds has two version, does it matter which one I choose?
An unMenu package manager plugin would be greatly appreciated of course
- I have just seen your edit. Are the files in the SlackBuilds link above not the correct ones?
Hi all!
I am completely new to unRAID and Slackware, though I have general Linux experience.
I want to install detox to my unRAID server, it is a little command line tool to change tricky characters in filenames:
I found there are Slackware packages available: http://slackbuilds.org/result/?search=detox&sv=
Now I looked around the forum and Wiki and while there is a lot of information, I really hesitate because I do not want to destroy my new and so far well running unRAID installation.
Surely it can not be very difficult to add a Slackware package and maybe someone can point me in the right direction or provide me with the necessary steps to do this correctly?
I guess I am not the only one struggling with tricky characters in filenames, so this might be beneficial to others, detox is a very good tool to deal with this.
Thanks in advance!
