  1. Had a fresh try at this tonight. So it runs with a certain user/group that can be set with -e PUID and -e PGID but I'm not sure how youre meant to do this through the UI. I can see in the server.log the following error: [2015-11-16 18:06:06,592] <db-server> ERROR system - [exec] error, rc=1, output=all output going to: /usr/lib/unifi/logs/mongod.logcan't open [/usr/lib/unifi/logs/mongod.log] for log file: errno:13 Permission deniedBad logpath value: "/usr/lib/unifi/logs/mongod.log"; terminating. 2. I havent had this Unifi Docker up and running as I've only just seen it but the other Unifi Docker didn't appear to like to work when its data was on the array. If I had it running from cache it seemed to be fine.
  3. Thanks - I use SilverstoneTek CP05 power/sata connectors so have another on order to swap over firstly. Will report back when I've swapped it.
  4. Hello, My parity drive keeps red balling and dropping out of my unRAID setup. The syslog shows the following: Jan 20 19:42:01 nas kernel: ata5: SATA link up 3.0 Gbps (SStatus 123 SControl 300) Jan 20 19:42:01 nas kernel: ata5.00: configured for UDMA/133 Jan 20 19:42:01 nas kernel: ata5: EH complete Jan 20 19:43:32 nas kernel: ata5.00: exception Emask 0x50 SAct 0x0 SErr 0x280900 action 0x6 frozen Jan 20 19:43:32 nas kernel: ata5.00: irq_stat 0x08000000, interface fatal error Jan 20 19:43:32 nas kernel: ata5: SError: { UnrecovData HostInt 10B8B BadCRC } Jan 20 19:43:32 nas kernel: ata5.00: failed command: READ DMA EXT Jan 20 19:43:32 nas kernel: ata5.00: cmd 25/00:00:a0:cc:09/00:04:11:00:00/e0 tag 16 dma 524288 in Jan 20 19:43:32 nas kernel: res 50/00:00:9f:cc:09/00:00:11:00:00/e0 Emask 0x50 (ATA bus error) Jan 20 19:43:32 nas kernel: ata5.00: status: { DRDY } Jan 20 19:43:32 nas kernel: ata5: hard resetting link Which keeps repeating over and over. I've done some googling and suggestions seem to be: 1) Bad power supply 2) SATA interface failing (i.e. bad PCI card) I can't remember if this is hosted on my PCI-e SATA card or not, I don't think so, think this is on the MB as it's my only 3TB drive. I have run a SMART short self test and the drive passed fine. However the "Disk attributes" SMART has four red rows on Spin Up Time, Power on Hours, Temperature, CRC Error Count. Any ideas on what to do next? Many Thanks
  5. Looking forward to GrumpyRAID!
  6. Ironic, thank you for this pre-rolled image and guide. It got me setup on unRAID 6 very quickly. I've now got a VM setup with everything I need. How is it best to configure a static IP with the VM? I currently have it configured via MAC address on my router but would rather do it on the VM itself. I did some searching and it seems there are a number of utilities (netctl etc). I presume this will also require me disabling the DHCP service? I tried creating a profile and disabling DHCP but this left me with a VM that I couldn't SSH onto as the static IP profile didn't seem to enable. A note for others, if like me you bugger this up then SSH to your Dom0 IP and use the command "xl console" to connect to the Xen domain
  7. Has anyone done this recently? I have used the bz files that piotrasd hosted a couple of posts above and now I am trying to compile Tvheadend as per the Wiki. It compiled but the static content files for hosting the webgui are missing. I have read into this and it sounds like the way you compile it is different, you have to either change the configure or make command to build a bundle. I am trying to do this now but not having the best of luck.
  8. Could it be due to the article caching? I notice some chat referring to this and RAM usage on Pags 19/20. Edit: Right, I didn't actually have transmission on. A reboot without SimpleFeatures iTunes, cache dirs and NOT using SSL in Sabnzbd seems to have stabilised it. I am not sure what was causing it though as cache dirs and iTunes were disabled previously and I still had RAM errors. I did notice some SSL errors last night in Sabnzbd so I think it may be that! BAH! Sorry for the running commentary... I don't have a cache drive and so I think it's using RAM, once my downloads hit ~1.6 then BAM it falls over... haha I feel rather dumb now!! --------------------- Should I put it on /mnt/user/nzb for instance or /mnt/disk1/nzb?
  9. Yea I need to go back to a stable version. I first tried the version on the first post but I kept getting a message that Newzbin protocol had changed, hence the jump to the most recent. I've just installed the Windows client and notice its still 0.6.15 as opposed to 0.7.0. Other mods include transmission which is doing nothing at the moment. Simple features GUI with the iTunes plugin (although this is currently disabled). I also have unMENU with a few supporting packages for other mods plus OpenSSL. I am going to try find a version between the one on the first post and the beta posted above and try that. Coincidentally, the client I have installed on my windows machine which is 0.6.15 is failing to start too now FFS!! 10. So I set this up this weekend to finally start making use of my giganews account and I am finding it rinsing the memory in my NAS and then failing to start again once it has crashed. I have Sabnzbd 0.7.0-beta3 as posted by jaychamp along with the most recent Sickbeard. I have 2GB of RAM in my system and shortly after Sabnzbd starts I get some memory issues mentioned in my syslog and then it falls over and the only way to start it again is a complete reboot. I'm not 100% sure whether it's Sabnzbd or Sickbeard that is causing the issue but when looking at memory usage on the server (through a script I found) I can see 'python' is using the majority of mine. Is it worth rolling back to an earlier version or does Sabnzbd and Sickbeard just require a lot of RAM? The Sabnzbd logs show no errors either.
  11. Thank you for letting me know. Did you email the support address or Tom direct?
  12. Hello, I am just wondering if anyone has spoken with Tom over email recently? I've emailed him about moving a licence from a faulty USB stick to a new one but haven't had a reply at all, consequently my server has been out of action for a while now
  13. I have fixed the above. After looking in the samba logs I saw a lot of errors relating to the secrets.tdb file. Deleting this and restarting samba fixed it. Case closed.
  14. I have just upgraded from beta10 to beta12a and can't access any shares via SMB. Not even the flash, but I can access the web interface. Syslog attached. syslog.txt
  15. Thanks for confirming! It sounds like I was on the right lines of thought so will go ahead with this.
  16. Hi, My configuration has seven drives in it, two of which are old 500GB disks that are on the way out and do not contain any data (at least none that I want). I want to remove both of these and then add in the new 2TB drive that I have. How should I go about doing this? I can't work out from the Wiki whether un-assigning one of the drives and then 'Restoring' the config is the right way to do it or not. Followed by upgrading the 2nd 500GB with the 2TB as if it was a normal disk replace. Any pointers would be good please Edit: 5.0-beta10
  17. The black + looked better than the green + I can see in the screenshot earlier on I think. Liking the rest of it for sure though.
  18. Jumario - I installed this last night on 5.0b7 and it works
  19. Up in the high 50s! I realised today whilst adding more drives that the fan on the drive caddy wasn't plugged in! Oops Anyway, a syslog is attached. syslog-2011-01-07.txt
  20. Nice one, I thought so Cheers for the confirmation though. It completed a parity check last night with 0 errors but it sent temperatures sky high as I only have one drive caddy with an active fan as I need another power adapter at the moment. Is someone able to add this motherboard to the wiki? It should be ready for Level 1 compatibility once I have time to grab a syslog.
  21. Hi Guys, I built my original server about a year and a half ago but recently needed to increase the 4TB capacity. Having purchased a SATA expansion card and a second drive caddy for my case I found an issue whereby the right angle mounted SATA sockets on my motherboard were interfering with my caddy. I have now purchased a new motherboard which required new RAM and a new CPU. I don't have any before photos but will be adding after photos soon. OS at time of building: 4.6 (previously 4.5.6) CPU: AMD AM3 Sempron 145 (previously AMD AM2 Athlon X2) - Hoping to unlock other core on Sempron. Motherboard: ASUS M4A78LT-M LE (Socket AM3, 6x Sata, 1x PCIe 16x, 1x PCIe 1x) RAM: 2x1GB Crucial DDR3 1333MHz/PC3-10600 CL9 Case: Silverstone Technology Kublai KL01 (Black, No Window) Drive Cage(s): Silverstone Technology CFP52B (4 in 3 plus 120mm fan) Power Supply: Corsair 600w Modular SATA Expansion Card(s): Adaptec 1430SA (Which is PCIe 4x running in the PCIe 16x slot) Cables: Silverstone Technology CP05 Backplane Adapters. Fans: Case Included 120mm Rear Fan Parity Drive: Western Digital WD20EARS Data Drives: 3x Western Digital WD10EADS, 1x Western Digital WD10EACS, 2x Western Digital WD5000AADS, 1x Western Digital WD15EARS Cache Drive: Western Digital 250GB Total Drive Capacity: 6.5TB Primary Use: Movies, Music, TV, Torrent Server, General Storage Likes: The way the RAID array works, feature set of plugins thanks to an open OS. Dislikes: Waiting for some of the 5.0 goodness although unMENU is good Add Ons Used: unMENU (latest version) - Using several packages, notably Transmission Future Plans: Adding more storage as and when needed. I need to sort out one more drive tray and its backplane. Overall the server is stylish looking, runs fairly quietly and has good capacity for drives for someone who does not warrant the need for a massive server. A small piece on the drive caddies: The biggest problem with the build was the drive caddies, they are quite fiddly to get into the case if you put the cable adapters on first, the trays don't always line up properly with the 'backplane' even though they are locked in. This for a while led me to believe the adapters were faulty (internally broken cables) as they were not being picked up in the BIOS. However, I would recommend them for UK buys because they are a lot cheaper than IcyDock caddies - as nice as they are. I will add photos here soon. Along with a syslog - at the moment I have the drives configured in the BIOS as AHCI, the other options are RAID and IDE. I am not sure if this should be IDE as I am getting a few AHCI lines in the syslog.
  22. Thank you. I took the plunge and ran initconfig. Parity is now sync'ing again.
  23. Hi, I have installed a SATA expansion card into my server and have put the hard drives into hot swap caddies. Stupidly, I have added two new drives to the configuration at the same time. These two drives used to be in the server before I removed them, what I didn't do was to reformat them before putting them in. When I booted up and had the two new drives assigned, the system showed the system to be all ok (all green icons) which threw me as I wasn't expecting that. So, I went to remove the two new disks, however, it now shows them as missing rather than just forgetting them (which I'd rather). If I try and drop one at a time, I don't know what to do because the parity shows as new. I definitely have the same drives in the referenced to the same 'disk' slots within unRAID as I made a note of them before hand. I am not sure how to proceed... Ideally I would like to get back to a working parity sync'd server without the 2 new drives and then to clear them properly in another machine before re-adding them one at a time back to the array. Thanks for any help I can give any further info if required. Edit: v4.6
  24. No.. I misread what you were trying to download... I thought you were trying to download the AiO version, not the non-AiO version... Yes, the non-AiO version had a "checked out" status for some reason in the download admin tool ... Thank you for sorting this quickly. I should have have tried the AIO and extracted the files I needed As it happens I'm needing to wait for a new motherboard (right angled SATA ports interfering with drive caddy )
